Forget all the other brick breakers you've seen, finally one made for the iPhone has arrived. Reflexion frees you from the one dimensional gameplay of Arkanoid and instead lets you draw your paddle wherever you like using your finger. Experience mind boggling levels that have you playing upside down and sideways. When things start getting too tricky, just activate slow motion by shaking the phone, but use it quickly before it runs out.
Tons of levels, power ups and power downs provide tons of variety, all the while challenging you with controls that have never provided so much freedom. Bring your iPhone gaming to the next level with Reflexion.
Features:
* Draw your paddles directly onto the screen, anyplace, anywhere
* Gently shake to activate your built up slow motion to get out of tricky spots
* Arcade mode, how high a score can you get?
* Puzzle mode, challenge yourself to beat each of the unique levels in less than three lives
* 50 unique levels, each with a different twist
* Unique power ups and power downs
* Amazing graphics and sound effects
* Listen to our original sound track or your own music
* High scores so you can compete with your friends
Feedback is welcome!

Wow. I picked this up and its really amazing!! I love the sounds! When you shake the device to slow the ball down, even the game sounds slow down. Really cool. Almost Matrix like! I will admit that I am not into break breakers that much. But this one is no other. Its worth the $1.99

I think you'll find that the current number of levels will keep you busy for quite a while! But we're willing to add more if there is a demand.

Would definitely like to hear if people are. Maybe try rebooting to free up any ram other apps have leaked? All the sounds and graphics do eat up a fair share of RAM.

We've confirmed that 2nd Gen iPod Touches do have an issue. We just bought one and are looking at it presently. I'd expect we'll have an update submitted shortly.
As far as we know iPhone users are unaffected though!

Tired of boring block breaker clones in which 95% of the time you're waiting to hit that last block? Well, Reflexion is the cure to that. This is the first game of it's kind, as far as I know, to feature this type of gameplay. You 'draw' your own paddle. It definitely takes some getting used to, but the idea works great and brings the thrill back to block breaker games.
The game features Arcade and Puzzle mode. Arcade is your standard level progression, while puzzle mode throws 25 challenging puzzles at you and you get a different star for how well you did in each level, and trust, the levels get quite challenging.
The game overall is highly polished and presented well (though the loading/intro screen is there longer than I like) and everything is seamless. The audio effects are great and the music is fitting.
The only problem I have is that the other blockbreak clones in the AppStore have quite a bit more content (however not as creative). I am hoping to see more modes added and maybe a structure to the arcade mode. Eg break the levels up by groups of ten, once we reach level 10, we can start at 11 even if we get game over, but our score will reset at that point. I'd love to see a vertically scrolling mode as well, where you start from the bottom and work your way to the top.
Also, online leaderboards are a must.
Short story: What's there is great. The new idea of drawing your own paddle works amazingly well and adds a fresh twist to blockbreaker. My wishlist includes: more modes/content and a structure to the arcade mode as well as global leaderboards.

It might not surprise you to hear that our favorite game in the office is our Donkey Kong cabinet. There's something about the mastery of a game from the very beginning that we find appealing, no continues, just you and the game to reach the very end.
Which is why we put in the puzzle mode to let people have another way of seeing new levels.
We have some fun ideas in store down those lines for Reflexion but mums the word for now.

I played for a decent amount of time and didn't experience any problems with my 2nd gen iTouch. However upon loading a different game soon after, my iPod crashed and took nearly 15 minutes for it to finally restart. I assume that's unrelated to Reflexion, but I figured I'd get it out there anyways.

We've played their brick breaker a bit to get a feel for why it is so popular, and although I am clearly biased, I think they are completely different games in how they play. So I'd be really surprised if you didn't like it because it was too similar.
Trying hard not to say it is way better, I'll leave that for you to judge. :)

I'm not sure about Brick Breaker, but it was the "drawing your own paddle" that made this one look really interesting. It opens up a whole new strategic twist to the classic game, especially once you start trapping balls etc. like in the video.

Reflexion changes you way think of brick breaker games by giving you the power to create your own paddle and angle the ball wherever you want. It’s really a challenging yet addictive twist to the category because you’re no longer to the bottom of the screen which is typical of these kinds of games.
The game offers two modes: Arcade and Puzzle. Arcade is the campaign mode where you gradually progress through 50 levels, while Puzzle offers 25 specific and unique layouts that you try to clear with 3 lives. The controls are simple: tap to launch the ball, shake to activate slow motion (the gauge is located in top middle of the screen), and drag your finger to draw your paddle. The game also offers the usual perks and power ups including fast ball, power ball, multiple balls, long paddle and double paddles.
Visually the game looks like your typical brick breaker game from your first Atari, but that where the similarities. Once draw your paddle, you’re off and running, and while you think the ability to draw your own paddle wherever you’d like would make the game easier, you’d be wrong. The game is even more challenging due to the fact that parts of the wall are missing and your ball goes right through to their brick breaker demise. The fun part about being able to draw your paddle is it gives a good deal of flexibility to draw them at any straight line up and down and side to side.
Hopefully the dev continues to add new levels as well as save last level functionality in Arcade mode and online scoring. With the smooth graphics, relaxing soundtrack, and addicting gameplay, Reflexion adds a new yet challenging twist to the brick breaker category.
Btw, I’m playing this on an iPod Touch 2nd gen and have noticed no issues.

I think this is becoming a widespread issue. Another game 7Days Apocalypse has the same issue where the 15 reviews it had are no longer there either. Something obviously isn't kosher in Denmark...no offense to the Denmarkians :p

I reviewed the game tonight, it's really good. Presentation is stellar, and gameplay is very challenging - it's definitely unique.
I don't get why people need buttons to play games, because this game shows that you don't need them to have an addictive title. In fact I doubt this game could have been done with buttons.

This game is really really good. As soon as you launch the game, you can see the level of quality and detail involved. The visuals of the game are stunning, and needless to say it's a lot of fun to play as well. The interface has worked pretty well so far, although sometimes when the action gets frantic I end up with a smaller paddle than what I was trying to draw. I'm pretty sure this is due to user error on my part, and sometimes it's just bad luck due to the small paddle powerup (powerdown?). The slow motion feature is slick, and having different game modes to play just adds to the replay value. I love this game and highly recommend it, even if you're not usually into the brick breaker type games. By being able to draw the paddle anywhere, it has a different feel than the traditional games of this genre.

Outstanding game. It's a disservice to lump it in with the average brick-breaker Arkanoid clone, because it offers so much more. It's innovative, it's packed with action, has tons of killer power-ups, it's loaded with insane multi-ball gameplay, and the whole package is polished to perfection. Most importantly, it's a ton of fun. Don't even bother with the lite version, just go for the full game. It's that good.

Hey gents! Just dropping a quick note here about an upcoming update to Reflexion!
http://twitpic.com/75cdi
There were a few things folks told us they would love to see in Reflexion v1. These were:
"Don't make me start over at the beginning when I die"
"Are there any more levels?"
"I would like to compete in a global high scores list"
So, we went to work and architected Reflexion 2.0. By using Facebook Connect we've enabled users to interact and enrich their gaming experience.
The biggest new feature is that anybody can create and publish packs of levels for the general public to download. Both creating these packs and downloading them is FREE. This means there will be endless amounts of levels available for anybody to play. Packs can be rated to allow the best packs to get noticed.
Secondly, each pack has its own global high scores list. Master your own pack, or set out to be #1 across all level packs out there and garner global recognition.
If you are trying to master a pack it can be frustrating to start at the beginning whenever you die. Now in Reflexion v2, we have checkpoints throughout the pack allowing you to pick up at the last save point with the lives and points you had at the moment it was reached. Keep maximizing each checkpoint to become the global master for that pack!
We've also packed in some other cool features we think you will enjoy including a few new powerups (one of which is named 'Godzilla').
