1.01 went to Apple on Monday, so you should have an update within 8 days of this. This version will allow you to change player names & team names. :)
1.02 is off to Apple on Monday next week with a host of new features, fixes and improved player stats - including a new remote stat update system allowing us to update player stats without you having to wait for new Apple updates.

I have both. At this moment I prefer MYFC. In my opinion it is deeper and more complex. But I am pleased to see that updates will come for Soccer Manager! :)

Yo Fizz,
I prefer your software because the price for Soccer Manager is honest and you support all of the important European leagues.
Just one thing: after two years I'm stuck at the end of a season and can't start with a new one.. that was pretty disasppointing since I was going to play champions league with my second league team...
My supporters were so excited and still waiting outside the stadium...
Mh...hope you can fix that "bug", if it's a bug...
Thanks,
keep doing cool like this.

The MYFC devs do need to address the crashes - adding an editor is my #1 request after stability.

There was an issue that a few may encounter at the end of a season. 1.01 should take care of this - 'ready your supporters again'.

I wonder-as someone who knows nothing about the players and very little about the teams, is either game superior to the other? I mean, $4.99 is a much nicer price point compared to $9.99 and if I don't know the players' names anyway then it shouldn't matter if they're fake right? Is there anything in particular that MYFC has that Soccer Manager doesn't?

Just wanted to chime in and tell you that I am thoroughly enjoying MYFC. I am working my way through a season and seeing many of the nice touches that I have come to expect in PC manager titles. I think football fans are doing themselves a disservice to wait for something that isn't out and not give MYFC a real go. Maybe a Lite version will come out - that should generate alot of interest.

If you don't know the teams or players but want a managing game then get Soccer Manager. there is no need to pay double for athletes names.

Currently I have MYFC. I am by no means a soccer fan, and I rarely ever watch it. I'll watch the World Cup. I really enjoy FIFA and Pro Evolution Soccer, so I thought maybe i'd try MYFC. It's a lot of fun, but I feel like my knowledge of soccer is so horrible that I really don't know how to give my team the edge and progress. I wish there was a guide or something that kinda let you know the benefits of the sliders in training mode and such. I'm playing as Chelsea and im about mid-season and im ranked 6th overall. I feel that's bad =(
If anyone could message me some pointers id really really appreciate it and it would give me a better understanding of strategy in managing a team. I really am somewhat clueless in soccer strategy. Anyone who feels they have a good grasp on MYFC id GREATLY appreciate a message on some tips and things to look for to better my team.
I havent played Soccer Manager, but I can say I am very pleased with MYFC, just somewhat clueless.

Its not the price, its that Champ Manager is coming (http://www.pocketgamer.co.uk/r/iPhone/Championship+Manager+(iPhone)/news.asp?c=12777&srch=champ+manager)!

well that and the price. As in because the price is so high people will wait for this game.

Yeah, I'm going with Champ Man. It's proven, you know the AI and flow are going to be realistic so I don't mind spending a few quid on it.
This looks really nice but I'm not taking a punt, unless it had released at a lower price - between £3 and £5, for example. Although I do understand that this has a higher price than Soccer Manager because of the licensed teams.

I'm gonna hold out for Championship/Football Manager.
It's weird though that EA has not released anything from their FIFA series.

MYFC is, in my opinion, superior.
Seems more polished, more in depth, and just an all round better management sim.

after playing both for quite some time, i think i just like the overall flow of soccer manager better. people are always hurt in myfc, like all the time i have 5 of my best dudes out for 12 weeks lol. i like how soccer manager has their games setup too with all the players on the field

A small number of users have reported a crash problem, they all are running on 1st generation iPhones, I am desperately trying to acquire one to solve the problem, no crashes have been reported on any other device, and we have all other devices, and havent had a crash for a few weeks of heavy testing. An update for this and other issues will appear as soon as we resolve the crash.

Manage Your Football Club is on sale now for $5.99, so those that were waiting for a lower price-point can get in on the action.

Cool, thanks for pointing that out. I was leaning towards getting it and was waiting to see if they might have a sale now that there's more competition.

Just bought myfc.
I knew that it only had the English competitions... I can't find players based on non-UK teams on the market. So the player database is limited to within UK too?
If that's true they really need to expand the players database!
they have just sent it the new update with those exact ammendments

I think he meant MYFC. I emailed them earlier today and they told me the exact same thing. Update should be available later next week!

I bought MYFC this week, in the sale. Haven'g played it a great deal yet though.
Jeez, the UI is really nice in comparison the unbelievably awful Champ Man.
Hope the simulation is up to the job, though.

I was talking about MYFC, MYFC certainly looks great and in my opinion is the best manager game out there epecially with the new features coming out:
1. Out of contract (Bosman rule) player contract negotiations function correctly.
2. Intermittent- ‘friendly game bug at the start of the second season’ fixed.
3. Intermittent- ‘difficult to win matches bug’ fixed.
4. Modified- ‘frequency of red and yellow cards’.
5. Player profile now displays- Goals (con) for goalkeepers and (Scr) for outfield players.
6. Foreign Players tab added to transfer filter. You can now buy and loan foreign players
7. Out of contract players (Bosman rule) tab added to transfer filter (operates from the start of the second season).
8. Formation screen numbering sequential as squad screen
9. Commentary window now displays Goals in yellow text and sending off’s in red.
10. Amended player database
11. Smoothed out ball movement and included club badges on match radar screen to indicate which goal your team is attacking.
The bolded new features will make the game a lot nicer and smoother, the main creator of this game is really helpful and responsive, many of these changes being made have been because of feedback, I think that MYFC has great potential especially with the attitude that the Creators/developers have.

Add all this to game's existing awsomeness, and this game will rule. Also according to the dev: "Multiplayer - I have big plans for this, more later." Cant wait to see what these plans turn out to be.

multiplayer may be done like soccer manager (online game not the other app). You have a time to submit your team and tactics then you get the result back. or if you are online at the time you can watch the match

Multiplayer would be quite hard to implement

ya i dont realy see how multiplayer would really work, it would kinda be like all those failed madden leagues online imo lol
I think the updated Soccer Manager is the best manager experience at the moment. But I have some suggestions.
One thing I would like to see in this or a new version is a team auto select. The players tire quickly from match to match and I find myself having to constantly swap players about between matches - sometimes it's 8 or 9 players. And you have no choice but to swap your players when they get really tired in a game because they will automatically become injured. Just because someone's exhausted doesn't mean they're injured and just because someone's very fit doesn't mean they can't get injured.
Anyway, I'd prefer it if I could press one button and the strongest fit team is automatically selected for my formation. It would save a lot of time. But tiredness and injuries needs looking at anyway.
Finally I think it's a bit tough to do well. I play with the current Man City squad and seem to lose more than I should. I really don't think it's my tactics which I've tried a lot. I think some AI teams over perform. I love the stats updates though. It's great playing with the current squads.
Hope the feedback helps.
MYFC is good but the finance model is wrong. When you pay signing on fees for contract renewals, the money is taken directly out of the transfer budget. It doesn't work like that. Also I'd like to see individual players ratings. I can't see any only group ratings like for defence.

I have both as well and like Soccer Manager a lot more. They do need to have lineup slots where you can set different lineups to rest players. I would be happy with just two, if not three or more. Anything to keep you from having to manually change before every game would be welcomed.
MYFC isn't bad, just too buggy to be able to play regularly.
