Note: Try earth and lightning, earth 1st and at higher level. I'm not sure if this helps, but people on the forum say it gives them a higher percentage. For me, I find my percentage to be always 50:50.. Hope this helps

what i know is
-the dragons must be choosen in order ex. (1st plant+2nd water for swamp & 1st water+2nd plant for seaweed)
-it is more likely to get the dragon you want when the dragons are the same level
-if the dragons are not the same level then the dragon with the higher level will take the first trait ex. (lv.10 plant+ lv.9 water=swamp, lv.9 plant+ lv.10 water=seaweed)
-dragon must be adult to breed

*so far i have not tried breeding hybrids, it seems it just lowers the % of getting the dragon you want but when i start trying for the rainbow dragon i will keep you posted on my efforts

Explains why I've gotten everything right with breeding so far, all of my dragons are level 7 xD I figured out the breeding spot pattern aswell.
I'm only level 12 at the moment and just incubating my first Crystal/Quake dragon eggs.

Yeah, I find the same thing too. I always get the dragon I want. 100% without fail (so far anyway), however,
I'm sure when I start breeding hybrids to get the blue fire and rainbow dragons. I also have a highly unlikely theory about the rainbow dragon breeding. The order of the colours on it's body. I know, strange theory right? But all the co ours are there that are elements, assuming orange equals earth element. Maybe I'll try,unless someone else wants to?

Another secret dragon, but this one generates gems as opposed to coins. At what rate, I don't know, but probably something like 1 gem a day, with a ridiculously large habitat that can only hold 1 dragon, and an extremely expensive habitat at that, say 1 million coins or so? I don't know. Maybe. That would be pretty awesome.:rolleyes: Even if it isn't added, we can all dream....

Snow dragon and Blazing Dragons give one million when sold. Whether they are just hatched or level 10. If you place a dragon into a habitat after hatching, you will earn XP points. So by hatching, placing in habitat and selling you earn money and XP. As you saw there you only earned money and no XP.

You would know if you have the Blue Fire dragon because the egg is red with white snow flakes.

Btw I think there are more hidden dragons apart from the Blue Fire. I have managed to breed and hatch at least one of every kind, including the Blue Fire, and yet I didn't get the achievement of hatching every kind. Maybe there a hidden Air/Earth Combo?

The others are scorch(fire lightning)3h & fog(air water)8h

They also added 6 decorations including 10mil coin volcano. The 1mil coin crystal gives the same amount of exp as the dragINN 50k. Dunno if its intended or not but shoudn't it be 500k?

I have just noticed three new mystery eggs in my egg market

1. Blue Fire (fire/cold combo) and already been mentioned a few times
2. Scorch. (fire/lightning combo) note this is same as for firefly...hmm
3. Fog. (water/air combo) currently breeding....hopefully

Have any of you already got Scorch and Fog?
Maybe they appeared at lvl 17 which I achieved yesterday, just haven't heard of these three until recent talk of the Blue Fire.....

Fire and snow works for blue fire. Just did it again and got another blue fire. I already had 2 but wanted to check. But they need to b high levels and pick a pair and stick with them. It can take many attempts

Same thing happened to me after today's update, I shut my phone down & restarted it and that seems to have solved the problem, it doesn't show the XP I should have earned but it is increasing now like it should.

Also I'm still looking for one person to trade a daily gem with, if anyone is interested please message me, thanks!

has anyone done this yet? would it be too complicated, or too anything if i just said the first 3 ppl to gift me a day, i would gift them? it just seems like... having to wait months for 1 gem is a lil much.. so why not give everyone a chance each day? so like... maybe i can start it at 4pm central (Texas)? might not gift right away, but i can keep track by posting on here to make it so it wont look like im taking at not giving. and to make it double fair, i could do a no 1 person twice kinda thing. so if your first 3 one day, it wont count the next day if your the first 3 since you already got it the day before.

I have just noticed three new mystery eggs in my egg market

1. Blue Fire (fire/cold combo) and already been mentioned a few times
2. Scorch. (fire/lightning combo) note this is same as for firefly...hmm
3. Fog. (water/air combo) currently breeding....hopefully

Have any of you already got Scorch and Fog?
Maybe they appeared at lvl 17 which I achieved yesterday, just haven't heard of these three until recent talk of the Blue Fire.....

I got it by repeating firefly/swamp over and over again, it took about 5 or 6 tries, and I stuck with them until I got it, no other breeding in between. Also I think they're a good pair because most of the other eggs I got were swamp or seaweed which don't take too long to hatch and sell for a pretty good price. I tried for awhile with blaze & crystal but kept getting 24 hour hatch times! :(

You just have to keep sticking with it to get the rainbow, it's boring and no fun but it's worth it in the end, IMO.

Does anyone else have a good pair that was successful for rainbow with the throwaway eggs having short hatch time & good sale value?

Yay I finally got my rainbow dragon currently in breeding by using a lvl 10 firefly and a lvl 10 seaweed it took about 8 tries :3 as for gems I have a long list still and it keeps growin thx everyone for the gems <3 trying to regift them as fast as possible happy gaming everyone ^^

Snow dragon and Blazing Dragons give one million when sold. Whether they are just hatched or level 10. If you place a dragon into a habitat after hatching, you will earn XP points. So by hatching, placing in habitat and selling you earn money and XP. As you saw there you only earned money and no XP.

You would know if you have the Blue Fire dragon because the egg is red with white snow flakes.

Btw I think there are more hidden dragons apart from the Blue Fire. I have managed to breed and hatch at least one of every kind, including the Blue Fire, and yet I didn't get the achievement of hatching every kind. Maybe there a hidden Air/Earth Combo?

No, you do not have to buy anything. You just need to breed the correct dragons and get lucky. Furthermore the three new dragons are blue fire, fog , and scorch, not sonic.

Tried breeding air and water, got a mountain 5 times. Tried fire and whatever else it was to get scorch, got a firefly 5 different times. Do I have to download the new game it took me to in the app store or should the update do it? And is anyone else having these issues with the new dragons? Or is there a certain level my dragons have to be at to be able to breed these?

Yes, fire and cold are incompatible, but fire and a cold hybrid aren't, eg
Snow, mountain or ice.
Still trying to get Blue Fire but did get Scorch on the first try.
As Scorch is the same breeding as firefly, I decided to try in reverse and
bingo....it worked :)


I used lightning/fire (think lvl 7 & 10)
No guarantees though, cause I shared this with a friend and it didn't work for
her first time, she got another firefly......

I have found that any hybrid that's the reverse breed colours of another one
are really random.....higher level first hasn't worked for me either as it has for others....

Had many failures trying to get

Tree - often got Moss
Poison - Flower
Crystal - Quake
Swamp - Seeweed

Had 3 failures with Blue Fire so far, about to try 4th attempt

Just keep trying, hope something here may be of help...good luck

Alright so I havent read anything on here since page 38 since college has been swamped but I have done it twice now and bred the rainbow dragons both times I used the same two dragons I used my lvl 7 swamp dragon (named diver) and my lvl 7 firefly dragon (named thunder). I chose swamp then firefly and I got a rainbow the first time, I just got it again about 4 days later breeding that same combo, in between the two I had about 6 fails before it was the rainbow again. So this method is working 100% guarantee it will eventually get you all a rainbow.

Alright so I havent read anything on here since page 38 since college has been swamped but I have done it twice now and bred the rainbow dragons both times I used the same two dragons I used my lvl 7 swamp dragon (named diver) and my lvl 7 firefly dragon (named thunder). I chose swamp then firefly and I got a rainbow the first time, I just got it again about 4 days later breeding that same combo, in between the two I had about 6 fails before it was the rainbow again. So this method is working 100% guarantee it will eventually get you all a rainbow.



Also those who have been sending me gems, thanks it makes the rainbow soo much quicker to breed, i send out my 3 everytime but at this point I'm at like 175 friends on gamecenter so I will get to you eventually

Is it just me or did they raise the price of the nursery? I thought I heard that a strategy of the game was to use the 10 gems you get from the beginning to upgrade up. But on mine its saying it costs 25 gems? Wow, I can't believe my 4 yr old daughter accidentally spent them. But I am way to far to start over now. We will all get it eventually though, if we continue to help each other out like we have been. Great game btw.

Yes, fire and cold are incompatible, but fire and a cold hybrid aren't, eg
Snow, mountain or ice.
Still trying to get Blue Fire but did get Scorch on the first try.
As Scorch is the same breeding as firefly, I decided to try in reverse and
bingo....it worked :)


I used lightning/fire (think lvl 7 & 10)
No guarantees though, cause I shared this with a friend and it didn't work for
her first time, she got another firefly......

I have found that any hybrid that's the reverse breed colours of another one
are really random.....higher level first hasn't worked for me either as it has for others....

Had many failures trying to get

Tree - often got Moss
Poison - Flower
Crystal - Quake
Swamp - Seeweed

Had 3 failures with Blue Fire so far, about to try 4th attempt

Just keep trying, hope something here may be of help...good luck

So everyone probably knew that there are are 3 new dragons: fog, scorch and bluefire. Fog is Water+Air, Scorch is Fire+Lightning so you could either get a firefly or sorch. They are both 3 hours so you can't really tell. And finally the supposed mysterious BlueFire dragon whith is obviously Fire+Cold. I'm still trying to get the Rainboe but I've kinda put that on hold. BlueFire is hardest to get because there are so many combos when you have to use St least one hybrid. Scorch is 2nd hardest because Firefly is also Fire+Lightning and they are both 3 hour incubation and hatching. Fog is the easiest because it is the only combo of Water+Air.

I haven't been posting in awhile and I don't want to read about 30-40 pages so here you go if it hasn't already been posted. Hope this helps

It is crashing constantly now. I was trying to redecorate a bit but gave up. And not those crashes were it says it was reported. It just crashes to the springboard. And I managed to breed and hatch every single dragon there is, and yet I still don't have the achievement for it.

I think I will only log once or twice a day to collect coins and give gems.

I am in the same boat actually. Have bred all the dragons including two rainbows.. Have three islands but no habitats left to put on it. Other than moving thing about and changing each island I have not much else left to do but grow food, feed dragons and collect coins.

To reply to some questions. All data is stored on their servers and associated with your Game Center ID. So no, updating will not lose your saves.

Visitors..yes that bugs me too. At one point I had 192 visitors. I was trying to reach 200. Now I only get about 60..

I'm hoping DV will get another update soon so that Lvl. 20 isn't the Lvl. cap. That would be nice. New dragons, new islands, would really improve the game.

So I've been trying Firefly+Seewead and Firefly+Swamp. They're all Lvl. 10. It's starting to get frustrating. Also trying random combos for the BlueFire dragon. I'm open to ANY suggestions so please give me some. I have 3 rainbow habitats hidden in my forest (not really hidden) but I can't even get 1 Rainbow. Plz help.

I am in same situation, used the same combination as you, (must be close to 20 times) , numerous Wasted gems, for fast breeding and hatching. It's getting OLD. All I can say , keep trying and GOOD LUCK.

In regards to the blue fire, what ive done so far is used the dragons stated on 'egg section'. eg. the seaweed is water and plant (which is stated when you click on the dragon as if ur about to buy it). So far i have used the dragons it tells me to and in that same order (so water on the left side plant on the right for seaweed) and it has worked for me every single time without any problems.

Have a try putting the fire dragon on the left side and the cold on the right when breeding for the bluefire :) I havent tried it myself but it has worked for all my other dragons.

You aren't able to breed a fire and cold dragon directly for a blue fire dragon. I would try breeding a fire dragon with a hybrid that has cold as its primary type

Hey guys! I looked up all of the dragons on dragonvale! It turns out that the only dragons there are, are: Plant, Earth, Fire, Cold, Lightning, Poison, Flower, Moss, Lava, Flower, Tree, Mountain, Firefly, Crystal, Blue Fire, Quake, Storm, Scorch, Swamp, Ice, Mud, Seaweed, Air, Snow, Sonic, Fog, Bazing, Willow, and Rainbow. I know it seems like a lot, but I have most of them. The only ones that I don't have are Blue Fire and Rainbow. They need to update the game and put in more dragons, even though they just did.
I noticed that in the loading screen, if you look at the very top there is the shadow of a black dragon. I think that it may not be a shadow, and that they are making a dark/black dragon. Now, I looked at the list and noticed that it isn't there. I think that we should make a dark/black dragon, a light/white dragon, and them together either makes a life dragon or invisible dragon. Once I know how to make a thread, I will make one called "New Dragonvale Dragons" Together we should design the dragons and send the in to Backflip Studios! So, how about it/ I will make the thread, and anyone is welcome to join!

Hey taitai, I personally used alevel 10 firefly and a level 9 seaweed for rainbow, took about 30 tries.
I read up on a theory about the rainbow though, you have to have hybrids and they have to have an unbreedable combination in them, such as how firefly/seaweed has water/lightning fire/water etc in it, the rainbow egg happens when by chance the combination used to make the egg lands on one of these normally unbreedable combinations. Keep that in mind when deciding which hybrids to use.
For blue fire dragon the same concept applies but the combination has to land on fire/cold. Fire/mountain fire/ice and fire/snow are good combos for that
For fog dragon is easy just breed water/air
For Scortch dragon fire/lightning. It will either come out as firefly or scortch

That should be about all you need to know to breed em all, patience is the main factor now ^^

Visitors..yes that bugs me too. At one point I had 192 visitors. I was trying to reach 200. Now I only get about 60..

There is a new zoo that opens in town. Everyone flocks to see it. The park is packed for a few days, but the excitement dies down and the zoo has less visitors. A few weeks later, the zoo gets a new zebra! Everyone flocks to see this new zebra and join the naming competition. A few days later, everyone has seen the zebra, and the excitement dies down, leaving a mere 20 visitors tops until the zoo gets a new "Photo with the Tiger" attraction.......
You can figure out what this means in relation to DV right?

Thx Jthizzle(sorry if I got it wrong). I already have the scortch an the fog but the bluefire and the rainbow dragon are still haunting me. I'll try your suggestions for the BlueFire

Theoretically that makes sense. Realistically though, it doesn't.

1. I always change dragons somewhat and I was still adding decorations at the time. I had 192 and was trying to reach 200. So I kept adding, yet the number started to slowly decrease instead of increase. First it was 187, then 170 etc.

2. I can not think of any theme park which undergoes a complete remodeling every few days.

3. Having visitors decrease would only make sense if the population is say.. 250. People change and tourists visit. The park, being a touristic attraction should always benefit from new tourists, and if according to the game adding islands, leveling dragons and adding ridiculously expensive decorations should increase the number of visitors, then I should have 300 by now.

The game is just coded wrong. The developers can't expect us to remove every habitat, sell every dragon and sell every decoration and start over again every few days. Besides, changing does not bring about new visitors anymore. I currently only have 35 visitors per island. Adding that very expensive volcano and those silly yellow gems kept the park at 35.

is on it's way too, my first.
I also used Swamp (9) + Firefly (10)
Second try with this combo, first time was Firefly first....

Starting to feel it too. Level 20, gajillion gold. At least one of everything, Maxed out on stuff, been trying to breed a (censored) Rainbow Dragon non-stop for a couple of weeks... (I'm keeping screenshot of all matings for the sake of masochism)
