I truly adore this game, it really teaches you something about the building of cities; especially when it comes to fiscal management, borrowing funds and soaring into debt.
I find it amazing when you seep into debt that the city still manages to grow even when you've gone over the debt limit; at this stage is quite enjoyable to watch your debt stack.
I definitely recommend this game! It is a true time filler, one you can never put down!

This game is pretty packed and great for such a small package. The graphics is great. The music is very relaxing. The gameplay plays like any other city sims game but less the hard part. It's pretty easy to learn how to play and master the game. The tutorial really helps a lot. I love how easy you can accomplish each mission with ease. You just need to press a mission or "New Venture" and simply press what building, item or task written there and it will automatically take you to that building, item, etc. without you going to the build menu to search that building, item, etc. There are plenty of building to build. Manage your own Country the way you want it. If you are looking for an easy to play and noob friendly great city sim game, this is the game for you. Definitely worth playing.

I was blasted away by the ipad version of this game. It truly does require more attention because of the copious amount of detail and awsomeness. I've never ever played a sim as deep as MyCountry on any idevice, computer and even console. Plus the iAP is so affordable, its not like other games where you have to pay 40$ to build a tower or so. The game is free, try it, whats the harm? And if you love it so much, you should buy the IAP and support the devs so they can make more updates to this great game!

My Country is a very well made game, with very realistic and lively graphics and upbeat, happy music. It is not very hard to learn the game. The tutorial guides you through the beginnings stages in creating your “dream city,” but the guidance does not stop there. As your city grows, the game shows you what to do next in upgrading your city through the “New Ventures,” which, for me, was very convenient. The “New Ventures”, however, does not stop you from customizing and making your city your own. It became frustrated at times when the items I needed to hire a person were not available, but it showed me in a broad sense how the real world works. I recommend this game for people who enjoy these types of games, especially that it’s free. Even if you aren’t a fan of these types of games, you may find yourself hooked on this game for a while. The only thing I would change is if the game had a help button. Aside from that, it’s a great game.

Great Game now fits in your pocket

Four days ago I discovered My country for Ipad,my very first attempt at playing a Sim game....... I can't stop playing it I'm one day away from getting the "special building" and I can't wait. I don't know if this is how it is with other Sim games but this one is incredible. Now that its on the iphone I can sneak it with me to work to play ( do you know how hard it is to hide an Ipad)
The controls are simple(plus they start you off with a tutorial) you can just pick up and play no long drawn out procedure you simply buy the item you want (house, business, school etc) build it, then hire the required people to work there (police for police station) its that simple the game shows you exactly who and what you need for each place you buy

You earn money from houses from the tenants living there depending on the size and how many people live there you can upgrade your properties and make more more off them. The real money however comes from launching contracts with different businesses operating in your country the bigger and more expensive the office or building the more profits you can make cha ching

Spend your Country-Bucks wisely and you can open buildings instantly without the regular requirements,if you run out there's IAP's to buy more. But here's my best reason for recommending this game ......Its your country, you can do as you please you can make a beautiful houseing development area or fill it with parks, restaurants cinemas factories or save up and buy the World Trade Center

I'm building my own little new york complete with skyscrapers high rise buildings stock exchange the works, but that just my country, go build your own

All buildings, surroundings, decorates, signs, green plants are realistic. The graphics are very good. You can build whatever as you like if you have developed the country good and have enough fund. You can build office builidngs, energy stations, bus transits, skyscrapers, parks, etc. In order to develop your country well, you must develop economy, industry and expand your populations.

The game is FREE to play. You can develop it as you like. It's YOUR country. You can be a real President in this country. Prosper it or ruin it, you have the power. Why not grab it now?

Another well deserved 5-star review on the US store as Heliotropist

I was surprised to see just how well the interface had been ported over to the much smaller screen on the iPhone/iPod. Excellent job guys.

Fantastic City Building Sim for the iPhone
My Country is one of the finest city building games on the iPhone, if not the best. There are numerous freemium variants on the city building formula on the appstore, some going for a medieval theme while others do a cute theme, but My Country channels the classic Sim City motif down to a tee. It's hard not to be completely smitten with the setup and art when you first launch the app if you're a fan of Sim City. Everything from the buildings, to the cars and people moving about town to the scenery is a visual delight. But the polish in presentation does not stop there. One of the biggest hurdles when playing a city management game is the interface, and this is where My Country wins most of its points. the interface is an absolute breeze to use even with the limited space available on a 3.5" screen. The developers have managed to utilize this space in an extremely efficient and clean manner. Whether you want to add new buildings, hire new people or just check up on your current status, everything is immediately and easily available to you without any clutter. Furthermore, all the text is sharp and very easy to read which is very important in sim games. Adding to all this is a nice relaxing soundtrack.

Your Country is basically a 4x4 grid area, where every square in the grid can house one city/village/town. Your job is to build new businesses (everything from factories to corporate house and service industries), residential blocks, transportation, utilities and even some gorgeous landmarks to beautify your Country. My Country adds the concept of hiring people to run businesses, and every person you hire needs a certain number of tasks to be completed before you can hire him. These tasks can vary from setting up new residential areas to upgrading existing business centers. This adds huge depth to the already vast city management game. Doing all of these tasks requires in-game dollars, which are constantly generated by your businesses. Every task has a set time it will take to complete, but it can be sped up using more dollars or CountryBucks, the iAP currency which is also rarely available in-game. As your city grows you can expand to the nearby grid squares for a hefty price. As with any freemium game, the need for iAPs becomes more and more demanding as the game goes on, but if you're only a casual player you should be able to check in to your Country every now and then and still maintain a decent progress. If you do go the iAP route, a daily discoverable Red Ruby item helps you by adding 30% to your purchased amount of dollars or CountryBucks.

All in all, if you're interested in freemium games, city building sims or great iPhone games in general you absolutely must try My Country today. It's a beautiful timesink that will have you hooked most certainly.

Awesome sim for the price of FREE!

My Country: build your dream city is a polished sim game for the iPhone.
This is the iPhone version of the same game for the iPad. The Retina
Graphics makes this game super crisp. The trade off is the limited screen
estate. All that means is that you will be performing more panning to see
more of the playing area but the game play just as well on the iPhone.
It begins with helpful tutorials and the game is very easy to learn. There
are detailed graphics with animations and a soothing background music.
You can build really awesome looking cities with some patience. There
are homes, business buildings, taxi stands, bus stops, post office,
factories, medical facilities, post office, police stations, fire departments,
many different parks, fountains, power plants, and even some unexpected
"seasonal" items to be built. Adding buildings may require professionals,
which in turn may require acquiring certain items. The lack of CountryBucks
may hinder progression. However even without any in-app-puchases, the
game progresses along relatively quickly as I was able to hire an
entrepreneur, a postal clerk, a taxi driver, a CNC machinist, and a CEO
during the time used to write this review. There are constantly dollar signs
popping up for you to collect income and experience points.

Having played My Country on both my iPad and now the iPhone, I wonder
if it would be possible to make it so you can play the same game on both
your iPhone and iPad and be able to sync the progress across once iCloud
goes live.

If you would like to try an excellent city sim game that is easy to get started
and enjoy, this one is practically risk free as it is FREE with no ads.

I suspect it may turn into a popularity contest! Most of us probably trust the judgement of the developer too.

Perhaps a breakdown of aspects a 'best review' should cover/have may give the reviewers a better understanding of what is required to submit a potentially winning entry.

My country is a freemium sim city game. The game play is easy; your objective is to build your own country with houses, business building, industry, roads, park, etc. Each kind of buildings have several upgrade to let you earn more XP & $$. My country is unique in the way that you need ecology points to advance your eras and build more advance building. Besides this, my country requires professionals to operate certain kind of building like you need taxi driver to operate taxi stand, you need entrepreneur to operate small office, etc., which I like this kind of idea that make the game more complicated and fun. However, you might feel frustrated sometimes, as you'll need to collect certain items to hire the professionals.

The game interface is simple, clean, user friendly, and most important is smooth! Almost every icon on screen is accessible to get more info like how to get this kind of item by build which kind of building you would get. The background music is very relaxing while playing all day long!

There is no GC nor OF support, but it do have social integration where you could post your town picture to Facebook and make your friends jealous of it. ;-)

Overall, my country is free and worth trying! IAP is not necessary if you play it as casual and you will get country bucks (IAP) by completing quests.

Let the developers decide letting everybody vote would give certain people an unfair advantage
Plus like I said by them picking they can read and decide who best expresses what this game is about. This is actually the most fair contest here so far.

Picking up this game and playing for an ten minutes then writing a review is not randomly going to make you a winner this time

Certainly the best simulation game I ever played.

First impression, this game does look like the good ol Sim City that I enjoyed playing during my high school. There are several factors that draws me to download this game from just looking at the screenshots.

The graphic is not only beautiful, but it gives the impression that the game is alive and you can see vehicles and citizens walking around like what a successful city should do.

There are tons of stuff you can play with this game. Not only you got to build your dream empire, you also can hire the professionals and collect unique items too. You can upgrades buildings and assign contracts to gain more experience and money. In fact, there are lots of contents in this game that you will enjoy building your own country for hours.

Personally, I find the graphic is a little on the low end since it does not support retina display but don't get me wrong, the quality is still decent. I appreciate that the games details are superb and building designs comes in lots of variety.

Overall,

+++ Excellent amount of game contents.
+++ Game design is great with lots of details.
++ Gameplay is definitely different and unique than most of the other simulation game.
++ Great graphics quality despite lack of retina support.

If you have high vision, you will definitely love city building. For free, this is DEFINITELY worth a steal. I would simply recommend this game to sims lovers.

I am happy that this iPhone version came out. I no longer have to carry my iPad to play this game. When I first started this game, I am asked to build a taxi stand. After that, I am asked whether to accept business contracts or to build the building now. There are lots of business decisions to make but these are made easy by having lots of prompts which are either yes or no type of decisions. You get to hire people to take care of the buildings and know how the buildings functions as a whole.

It is a game that will help you manage a city as a mayor. There are a whole lot of features waiting to be explored. You can even draw roads to be built in this game. Get this game free now. You really got nothing to lose but a whole new type of gaming experience that is waiting for you.

Simply the best!
My Country is basically a RTS/Country building game in which you need to build your own country. The game has incredible and detailed graphics with excellent background music. Animation takes place in real time too. The User interface is rather clean and distinctions between components are crystal clear. By pinching and spreading your fingers against the screen, you can easily zoom in to view to smallest structures or zoom out to get the overall view of your country.

You start with nothing, as usual, and then build a huge, hopefully thriving city with roads, transport system bustling industrial and residential districts, parks and so on.. You need to carefully manage your budget and in the meantime continue developing your country. There are two kinds of currencies in game –Game Dollars and Country Bucks. The game initially provides you with quite a lot of money for constructing initial buildings and you can also buy more country bucks and game dollars via in app purchases.

The game basically revolves around constructing various buildings, recruiting various professionals like Entrepreneur, Taxi Driver, Teacher etc depending on the requirements and fulfilling various contracts. You earn money and Experience points from various buildings as well as by fulfilling various contracts. With experience points higher levels and eras are unlocked which provide you with even more buildings, new ventures and thus more revenue options. Most of the buildings also require hiring various professionals while in order to hire professionals you need to first fulfill their demands. You also need to keep track of energy requirement of the city. Further, you can change the landscape and construct lakes and canals to make your country look more beautiful.

One request for the developer is to add a help/tutorial section for the newbies to simulation genre.

Overall, My Country is a deep and enjoyable game that is flexible enough to be played at any pace and entertaining enough for all audiences.

A solid freemium city simulation that delivers

My Country may mislead you with its title, but the game is a classic city simulation game with plenty of depth, all packed into your iPhone. Since I am a fan of SimCity, I was surprised to find this gem of a game among the many sim-strategy genre available in the AppStore. The most accurate first impression I had is that its SimCity with a freemium model, and that's really not a bad thing at all. I was wrong, though in a good way. My Country has its own appeal and is far from being "just another clone" of SimCity.

In My Country, you have to plan your city accordingly so that you have the right balance of building types so that they complement each other. For example, building a taxi stand requires taxi driver as a worker, to hire a taxi driver, you need 3 items, Taxi Sign, GPS and Taxi Radio, which you can find by doing certain tasks like upgrading a building, collecting income from a building or adding a building. This goes for all the 55 professionals you have to hire for the building that requires them. You have several types of building including Residential, Business, Industry, Ecology, Energy, Transit and even exclusives that its easy to get overwhelmed by the sheer amount of things you have to build.

With all the buildings you put around the map, you need to also consider adding energy with windmills or plants and also to maintain a good ecology rating, by adding greenery like trees and parks. Sometimes these are requirements for certain buildings, which mean no stone was left unturned for this game, you need to explore every single feature included in this game in order for you to play this game. Of course, with the freemium nature of the game, you can fly through the game if you spend your cash with the IAPs or you can sit back and enjoy the ride and play the game everyday, playing it regularly the same way you would water your plants, or feed your pets. The good thing is that, for the first time, you have the option of spending ingame cash to speed things up instead of solely requiring the use of credits bought with IAPs (called CountryBucks). This is a very, very good decision on the devs end, I'd say.

Graphics-wise, the buildings look great on the Retina display. You can zoom in and out and appreciate the finer details like cars, trucks, limos rolling around your city and also people walking on the streets, making you feel like you're really managing a living, breathing city. The attention to detail on the building is brilliant and the color palette, bright and saturated. The menus work as they should, and I haven't had any trouble going thru different menus. They just work, and function just like I'd expect them to be. Also, if you're into social networking, you can Facebook-share your town pics and level ups.

Overall, I love My Country, and though I was a bit overwhelmed, I understood that I need to really think about the city I'm planning and all this, on my iPhone. There is a definite learning curve, but I know for sure that by learning the mechanics of creating your dream city can be an intensely rewarding experience in the long run. The length of the game is a definite plus, meaning that it'll be there on my iPhone for quite a bit, being up there with other long-term games I play like Kairosoft's games, Tiny Tower, and of course, Sim City on the iPad. I give this game a 5 out of 5 for the well-thought and super polished gameplay it offers, and all this for FREE. Wow. Just download it already.

Hm, found out My Country venture (quests) a bit not intelligent like I already have certain building / industry on my country and it can't detect the building and ask me to build again and some industry limited to build one or two only. I know I can demolish the building and built again, but that is not the point, right? Hopefully, this can be fixed in next update! :)

Superior Quality!!

5 stars ~ thank you for the contest!

My Country is a rewarding experience rich in developer polish! Building your "Dream City" has never looked this good thanks to the amazing iphone graphics! Super smooth gameplay defines My Country's interface, but I found the music/sounds to be most enjoyable. Plugging in headphones to enjoy the audio turned into a fantastic experience! Unique gameplay misions progress perfectly helping me maintain control, without pulling my hair out. (Thank you to the tutorial for that also!!!) Touchscreen interface was made for this game as navigation is very fluent and seemless. I plan on playing My Country often as it helps me relax like no other game can. An experience this unique is rare and should not be passed up!
