View Full Version : Is it possible to transfer apps to another ipod touch?

Hi, I was wondering if its possible to transfer game apps and their save data to a new ipod touch 2g? I have a 32gb ipod touch 2g and want to duplicate the game apps and saves to a new touch. I tried searching, but found no info on this. Is this possible? Is the save games tied into the unique id of each ipod? Thanks very much in advance.

I don't think you can transfer the saves, but you can transfer the games themselves. Sync your ipod touch to your computer to transfer all your apps onto the itunes library. then just sync your other ipod touch to the same computer and sync. I don't think the game saves will transfer, but I am not sure.

Not sure, but if it were possible, you'd likely have to SSH all the files over.
Just drag and drop anything associated to each app from your old iPod to your new one, but I dunno if there is a specific save file[s].

If the second ipod has been registered with your computer you can sync all the aps over

Thanks for all the advice! Could you please walk me through the process of transfering all data over to a new ipod touch? Save game states would be preserved in the transfer too?

Can't you back up your iPod and then import that into your iPod?

Use the backup from the old device and restore the new device to it. It will keep everything on it, except app placement. Same page that you had open in Safari and everything.

Is this method the same for transferring from pod to phone?
I have an ipod touch 2g and am getting an iphone 3gs....will i be able to transfer a backup to the phone?
or am i going to lose all my data?
