I am the developer...and would love for people to check out our new iPad game: Boomblastica
iTunes: http://itun.es/iBc4DZ
Here is the background:
Title: Boomblastica™
Developer: Thrust Interactive
Website: http://boomblastica.com
Video: http://vimeo.com/30135947
Web Demo: http://www.facebook.com/boomblastica?sk=app_263426063696701
Game story:
Just a couple of weeks ago in the small island nation of Jumble, our heroine, Aria, enjoyed her favorite afternoon snack, Super Spicy Ramen. After eating more than usual, she became very sleepy.
Unable to resist the weight of her eyelids, she put on headphones and played her favorite band, Crazy Lullaby...and drifted off to sleep.
While floating in a dream state, she is attacked by multiple musical monsters. Upset that her happy dream was interrupted, she decides to fight back with a sonic assault of her own. She soon discovers that she is battling a dark force attempting to take over her brain through the music.
To escape this nightmarish food coma, Aria will have to fight off multiple levels of musical enemies.
Game overview:
The simplistic gameplay of a scrolling shooter mixed with the unique music feature and fresh art style makes for a fun and casual experience for the mobile gamer.
It has the same elements that other successful mobile apps (Doodle Jump and Angry Birds) have. Short and simple gameplay, a unique feature and a cool art style.
Boomblastica takes aim at the casual gamers who play a game for minutes at a time, and hard core gamers that are enthusiastic about the "shooter" genre. Boomblastica is the first mobile app of its kind.
+ Boomblastica does not use typical sound effects found in other shooter games. It uses electronic music, with sounds and melodies created by the player as they target and destroy enemies in the game, leading to a form of synesthesia.
Game description:
Retro Vertical Scrolling Shooter -
+ A familiar format that players will easily be able to understand
+ Complex pattern of spawning enemies that enables the rhythmic pace of the musical feature
Music Creation -
+ Enemies spawn in time with a drum track, triggering an instrumental sound effect when they move, shoot and are destroyed
+ Each weapon has a different sound effect, adding to the orchestration of the game
+ While the game is being played, the collective sound effects will sound like a composed piece of music
Distinct Art Style -
+ Inspired by Japanese pop art
+ Appeals to younger gamers and core gamers, alike + Totally different from any shooter game out there
