I just tried login into real racing 2 hd from my iPad and gamecenter asked me to sign in with my password I thought that was odd. So I entered my password it told me it was wrong, gave me a link to reset my password and I did. So fearing the worst I sign in and look at my account and there's $.67 cents left. I had close to $100 saved up in iTunes cards for personal reasons.

Right now I am so angry and upset I dont even know where to start. I checked my email and there's no record of any purchases even. It had to of happened sometime today as I signed in fine last night.

#1 who do I call I'm not going through email
#2 will apple even refund me?

Thanks guys :/

Just call Apple up, mention the apps.

Then ask for a refund.

That's the one and after reading the reviews other people were hacked by this app as well. I'll be calling apple in a hour or so...

why would you download the app when the reviews clearly say they got their accounts hacked?

I don't think he did. Or maybe he had it lying around on his device because he might have gotten it awhile back.

Usually apple is very generous with refunds if you get the right person. Awhile back I accidentally downloaded aralon(long story) and apple had no problem with giving me my money back. It was 3-4 emails and about 2-3 days before the credit returned. Although I don't know if they'll do it with such a large purchase but if they see that others were hacked I'm sure you'll get your money back

This doesn't even appear to have anything to do with the Sega game itself. Apple reps are claiming it's the result of a faked Apple phishing email received by people, but there seems to be more going on with this, and it has happened to a lot of people who don't even have the game. The thread above seems to be where everyone's ending up, asking Apple for assistance. Hope this helps. :)

I also had lots of money stolen. By the time
I figured out what was happening,
They had stolen over $400 dollars. I got with
My bank and they were able to get back about
$300. I never did figure out how the money was
Stolen. So, now I buy iTunes cards at Walgreens,
And just use those. Remember not to use your
debit card on iTunes. I also used a pre paid visa number
On my account since they have to have a number.
ITunes customer support is horrible. Remember to check on all
your receipts from them. I was getting charged $50 a pop,
without a receipt from them

Go to your iTunes account and see if you have any receipts
for the money that's gone. I had a LOT of trouble getting thru
to them, and never got to speak to an actual person. Since I was dumb enough
to use my debit card, my bank worked it out with them.

I feel so angry for you... Apple probably will probably think you are lying, but hopefully they will give you a refund.

I'm having the same problem, except I can't even rest my password. I've been using the App Store for 3 years now and this is the first time my account has been hacked. It must be happening to quite a few people.

I have no idea how they got my password. I didn't download any of the apps mentioned in this thread.

I checked my bank account and no money has been taken which is good.

Although I suspect my iTunes balance of around £20 has been used.

My biggest concern though is that somehow my account has been deleted. I have reset my password twice now, both times I have been unsuccessful in logging in. If my account has been deleted I'll be mighty pissed.

Did you just get the problem just then?

If so I am having it now. Only started 10 mins ago.

"Says you Apple ID could not be found or your password was incorrect."

If you are having this then don't worry as I think part of the servers are down.

Anyone else having this? Please check.....

Thats weird... Just randomly they took your pass code... How do they do that?!

Yeah, that's the message I had. It started about an hour ago.

Edit - you could be right about it being a server issue. I just went to https://appleid.apple.com and logged in successfully with my new password. Can you do the same?

LOL, hacked by this app. People are so quick to blame a random app on the App Store (curious how people think it can hack their iTunes account), when it's much more likely the security on their end sucks. People falling for phishing emails, or unknowingly installing a keylogger on their computer is a much more reasonable explanation. Then the malicious person uses the iTunes account to buy their own app, or in this case, buy IAPs for their game account, since I highly doubt Sega is going around trying to scam people. Even if the problem didn't originate on the user's end (ie. hackers getting a hold of iTunes passwords due to a security flaw on Apple's part), the app would be the last thing I would blame if I had never installed it.

Remember not to use your
debit card on iTunes.

Generally, using a credit card >> using a debit card. There is a ton more protection offered for unauthorized transactions on CCs, not to mention that some CCs offer rewards as a bonus.

True. You need the card itself for the security code on the backside.

Mine got hacked before, sometime last year. One night, everything was fine and the next morning, my credit disappeared. Just a few cents left. The hacker bought PvZ hd, Fruit Ninja hd and a bunch of chinese apps. Luckily I do not have my credit card linked, simply used itunes credit. Emailing Apple works, I sent in the purchases which I did not make and the total cost was refunded in a few days. They will also reset your password again. Takes a few email (3-4) but everything is alright after. Apple is pretty nice about this.

I'm taking my credit card info off of itunes. It's not a debit card, but I had to use a credit card to sign up for itunes match (which definitely wasn't ready for public release).

Thanks for the heads up. I've always been concerned about having my itunes money stolen. Itunes has asked me to reset my password before because they suspected I had been hacked. That made me kind of leary.

Finally I can log back in again. iTunes must have had some server problems this morning. I'm glad to see that no money has gone. I have made my password stronger and removed my debit card details for the time being, just in case.

Wow, after reading this, I just realized that my account is hacked too.
Two days ago I have to reset my password because all of a sudden there's something wrong with my old password.
I realize it when I try to enter Game Center (which I rarely do) and suddenly the problem occurs with the password.
Just wondering, is it possible that it is hacked by Game Center?
Well, luckily I check iTunes daily, so quickly changes password and there was no money taken.

I read a good bit about this a couple of months back, I think they are selling other peoples credit basicly in China the main way seems to be through huge IAP's through a variety of freemium type apps, from what I've read it's my belief they are actually hacking the accounts on apples servers so there is nothing we can do personally to defend against it and apple don't acknowledge the problem at all.

Basicly Apple has it's head in the sand or just doesn't care because they get their 30% either way, well actually they have done something they have added a clause so IAP's aren't their problem and take it up with the developer instead.

My advice is don't keep credit unused and keep your credit card delinked from itunes.

this is really creepy. but i guess also very logical, as there's a lot of money lying inside apple's servers and apple is probably easier to hack than major retailers like ebay, or online banks.

I haven't been hacked, but it's about time I changed my password. It's not a bad one, just hasn't been changed for quite some time.

Done.

Some security reasons :
1.Use your email Only for ITunes ,do not post on other sites and forms.
2.Use another user name not the same that used in email.
3.Use only yours personal computer,iPhone ,iPad,iPod and Mac.

Sensible precautions but sadly don't make the slightest difference if they are taking the info from Apple's servers. You can have a 30 character password and it won't help.

I'm thinking there is some kind of exploit where they can reset the details as a lot of hacked accounts have their info slightly changed.

+1 on that
i don't think hackers go for individual accounts no more. they probably go attack the main system itself.

I agree with that. I had one of those strong passwords with cap letters, numbers and such yet it still got hacked.

Just bumping this thread to warn people that this app (-Kingdom Conquest-) is still "at large" and attacking unsuspecting users, as I got wacked for a couple of in app transactions for it this morning. (And like the others, I'd never downloaded it or even HEARD of it before.)

My guess is Apple must know all about it by this point, because they agreed to give me a full refund within about a minute after I started the chat with a representative.

Time to get me set up with an iTunes-only e-mail and password to use for the future, methinks! ;)

My account was also fleeced for $75 for this -kingdom conquest- game. No way they guessed my password so it had to have been something else, not sure who to point fingers at. I only work off my iPhone most of the time, and don't go around clicking links and yet this still somehow happens. Funny it's always for the same game no?

iTunes password reset is a joke, all it needs is your birthday and a question and they let you change it like that. They should have to receive an email first! Or at least confirm.

Either way, Apple refunded me. Nothing like ***hole thieves taking advantage of people cause they can't make it in the real world.

I've read awhile back that the Kingdom Conquest game had a bunch of hidden microtransactions anyone could accidently click.

I never downloaded it, or even had heard of it. Just got an email saying it was downloaded to my account from a computer that isn't registered to my apple id (why they can even do that is beyond me, what's the point of registering computers then?) and then they sent me the receipts.

I still haven't even downloaded the game to check it out, I feel I will just get frustrated.
