ok, here's how it went, i got my ipod touch 2nd Generation in pre-jailbreak mode, and, it always fails when i install the custom firmware, it gives an error. now, i tried to restore my ipod touch, but, at first, the computer wasn't reading the ipod touch, it doesn't show up when i plug it in. now, when i plug it in, my computer suddenly goes all blue and says "A fatal error occurred." and all that sh*t. what just happened to my PC and ipod? it happens everytime i plug the ipod in.

It likely has something to do with LibUSB. If you don't mind, please replicate the BSOD, and write down the error number and the function that caused it, it says it on the error. Also, more details about the tool you are using, the iTunes version, the Windows version and SP, and other information would be great.

well, I uninstalled that LibUSB-Win32 that the jailbreak app recommended, and, i forgot what the error was. and, i also got the latest version of itunes. i have Windows XP, and what's the SP? i hope that could work, i don't get this much.

Did you get the BSOD after you uninstalled LibUSB or before?
Also, although I never recommend iPTF, since this forum is very closeted about jailbreak, and don't know all that much, join ipodtouchfans.com, and post in the 2G jailbreak section for more help. They can be abraisive, but you'll get more help.

what BSOD? nothing actually happened after uninstalling the LibUSB. everything worked like before, it's just my ipod that's messed up.

The Blue Screen error that you are getting. Blue Screen Of Death. What did it say, when did it start?

it only started when i tried to connect my ipod again, at first, when i connect my ipod in recovery mode, nothing happens. but, since awhile ago, when i tired to plug in the ipod again, it gives me BSOD, but, my PC is still functional, i still get to use it, i just can't get my ipod touch out of recovery mode.

Try on a different computer.
