I'm sure you get absolutely hundreds of people asking the same questions, but in all honesty, i'm no bad-ass, so I kinda need help, and probably someone to hold my hand through this one! Please!

Firstly, can I put my iPhone back into its origional state at the drop of a hat?

Secondly, does jailbreaking iPhones go wrong? And if so, how likely is it that it'll happen to me.

Thirdly, where can I find instructions, or download link to get the jailbreak software for the latest iPhone software.

And is there any more information you guys could give me.

Again, I know these questions will have been answered many a time, but I'm kinda 50/50 about going for it, however playing Mario on the iPhone is something i'd love to do.

Cheers to anyone that can help me!

1. Yes. You can restore your iPhone to an original Apple firmware at any time through iTunes.

2. It is impossible to "brick" the iPhone. No matter how you mess up trying to jailbreak, you can always restore your iPhone's firmware in iTunes.

3. It will depend on your model of iPhone, your firmware version, whether or not you want to unlock your phone at the same time, and whether you are on Mac or PC. If you have a 3G on 2.2.1 firmware, and Windows, then try this tutorial: http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=1881

It's really not hard, and most definately worth it. Good luck, and remember to read first, do second.

It is possible to brick the iPhone. It is also possible to get it back to normal. One way that jailbreaking might brick the iPhone is if you're messing around in the "Categories" app. I know somebody who learned that the hard way. But, they were able to fix it. But jailbreaking itself cannot brick the iPhone.

I thank you for your quick response,

I indeed do have 2.2.1 and Windows, so that link will certainly help!

What is a good site to find things like Super mario emulators etc. Pretty much the only reason I want to jailbreak.

By the way, can I still use iTunes to put music on etc?? Also, can I still us the App store/iTunes on the phone?

Ok thank you once again,

I promise, last question, and then i'll leave you alone and stop being an incredable pain in the arse!

Can I use applications that I've bought through the app store?

You can't brick it. You all need to get the definition of a brick down. "Any device that has been damaged beyond repair that requires a hardware replacement to fix". That is a brick. You can't brick an iPhone or iPod.

Good luck! I was nervous when I did it, but ecstatic when I saw the Pineapple boot screen show up. :)
