Hi!

I'm Noam, a game developer from JoyTunes and I would like to share our new free music game with you!

Here is the youtube trailer (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TR8ZQ4Bu0EQ) of the game. You can read more about the game and download it to your iPad through the iTunes link available below.

On a personal note, if you play the game I would be really happy to get feedback from you guys in this thread as I think forums like these are awesome, and am really interested to hear your thoughts. While I can't promise that everything that will be said here will get into the game, I can promise that the team will have a serious discussion based on forum feedback :)

Have fun!
Noam

Fantastic app! Within minutes of starting it on the iPad, I had three of my children (5,6 and 8) standing around waiting for me to put it down so that they could try it. I've only tried the touch controls so far but I can safely say you've given me a reason to pull the midi keyboard out of the closet.

I can't quite believe the price tag. I'm trying to understand the business model because, frankly, this is a very polished app. Are you planning to release iap song packs? I'm very, very impressed!

Speaking as someone who doesn't have kids and just playing for fun, the background music and what you play doesn't seem to be the same tempo and it really throws me off. I find myself trying to play the notes faster than they appear because thats what "sounds" right to me. Does this change later on? Cos it looks like it'd be a real fun game.

Grate Apps!
And,
Guitar-training iPad game WildChords has won plenty of fans, but it's not the only app that helps people learn a real-world instrument. Piano Dust Buster is the work of JoyTunes, and sits on your piano while you play along to a series of free songs, with gaming elements to track your progress.

Thanks for the responses! I'll address them individually :

@aprodigalson : We will probably add premium content in the future. However the base package will remain free, and will continue to also get additions.

@kujen : We worked quite a bit to get the timing right, and I'm surprised you had that experience. Could you please tell in which song you felt it the most? Touch/Real piano? Germ Attack / Staff Master? Which iPad do you have?

@jare0674 : We are considering porting the app to the iPhone soon. I can't promise anything, but there is a decent chance that it will happen in the coming weeks / months.

I use an iPad 3. It was the early songs like Mary Had A Little Lamb that I had commented on. After trying it a few more times I think it's fine :) - maybe it's just a psychological thing, because of the easiness of those early songs and that one with its jazzy background. I do enjoy the app though, I just needed to get to the higher difficulty songs.

Glad to hear things worked out!

We tried to have a song unlocking mechanism that will let good players get to the harder songs faster, so I hope you got to the songs you enjoy the most quickly :)
