I just noticed Undercover (http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=310700088&mt=8) is finally an iPhone app. Anyone familiar with the mac software (http://www.orbicule.com/) is surely at least a little excited. Sadly, as you are all aware, apps don't run background processes. So the only way Undercover is able to locate your device is if the thief (or good Samaritan) manually launches it.
This is where it gets interesting. Orbicule has also released a free app called Found (http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=308303266&mt=8). This app displays a message, a button to call the owner, and (unbeknownst to the user) checks if it is associated with an Undercover account and uploads the phone's location.
Here is where it gets even more interesting. The FAQ at www.retrievemyiphone.com states; We are currently working with 3rd party developers to integrate Undercover functionality into even more apps.
