I've just noticed while browsing the app store and checking the forums, there are hardly any apps that cost $8.99.... Weird or what? Is there a reason for that?

It's more convenient to have an even number after u get past $7.99 imo

Consumer's don't see a difference between 8.99 and 9.99 (just as long as it's under 10 bucks).

A weirder price would be a $10.99 app

People are stupid...thats the reason.....Give a guy the options of 8.99 and 9.00 they just look at the first number and think ---hey thats smaller and the associate the rest of the number with that "smaller" number ...so are more likely to buy it ---happens a lot with 9 and 10 numbers

999.99 looks smaller than 10000.000 by quite a bit to some people. a whole penny difference.
