I bought my iPhone 3G around 3 months ago with the Canadian carrier Rogers. I upgraded OS version to 2.2.1, and just used 3G Fuzzyband Downgrader to check bootloader version and it told me it's 6.02, which is not supported. Currently I am in China for vacation, and the SIM cards are really cheap. I want to be able to insert a bought SIM card into my iPhone.
Is unlocking the right method if I want to insert a Chinese SIM card into a Canadian manufactured iPhone? And is there any way to unlock with bootloader version 6.02? I read a thread on another forum about some adapter, however I don't understand what that is or how that works; I also cannot contact Rogers for them to unlock it for me since I'm not physically in Canada right now.
Thanks.
