Hey everyone I was wondering if let's say Tegra decided to release Tegra games on the iOS would all the special effects work? Or is the iPad
To weak to handle Tegra effects?

Tegra is not a developer or a publisher -- it's a chip designed by NVidea. The most recent version is Tegra 3, and as an effort to draw attention to the chips capabilities (especially compared to other chips powering Android devices) NVidea has consulted with some game developers to help them take full advantage of its graphical prowess.

Benchmarks show that the iPad 3's A5X chip is as fast or faster than the Tegra 3, so developers who want to port Tegra 3 games to iOS should be able to do so. The one variable is resolution; much of the additional power of the A5X chips goes to running the retina display. Developers who port Tegra 3 games may have to choose between performance/effects and full retina (though Madfinger seems to think that they can manage full effects and full retina). There are way more A5X devices than Tegra 3 devices, so developers have a strong incentive to make it work.

I hope so, the only games that I can refference are GOF 2 and NOVA 3 and shadowgun. GOF has a setting to switch off retina to full affect (less relosultion), Gameloft said it will do the same with NOVA3. Shadowgun, Madfinder did a great job porting this to IOS with retina, but I will admit that they did not put the ragdoll affects and a few particles affects if im not mistaken.

I hope they put full affect of Dead Trigger because that game looks awesome! As of now they're official statment is "Retina + full effects is in the plans" (sorry no link)

I hope they accomplish it.

I don't think shadowgun ever had full rag doll in any build...

Yes I agree with squarezero: the a5x can handle tegra 3 games, however there is always the issue of supporting "all the features" if the new iPad like retina. I for one do not care for behind 1080p in 3s games, I can't tell the difference by much. Would greatly prefer more console effects and/or smoother framerate.

^i can't edit my post (on the app) so sorry about this, but I meant "3d" instead of "3s".
