:)

Sources asserts that battery life is performing well because the audio is in a native format to the iPhone. Other players that require audio conversion tend to eat up the already precious battery life.

:D

so...do you have to pay a subscription
and a xm/sirius member most likely
and have to purchase the app?

it must be over wifi streaming from the net, cause the device does not have a xm/sirius reciever built in

If you have a subscription to xm/sirius now, you also have an internet subscription. I think it's going to use this username/password to allow current users to use this app. If you don't have an xm/sirius acct, then you most likely have to buy a subscription for the internet access via web or iphone.

I've heard there is discussion that the app may have a fee to purchase as well.

Am i to assume this app would be virtually useless on an iPod?

Why? It should work on the ipod/iphone.

Because u don't have a constant internet connection on an iPod, if it only works around a hot-spot than there'd be no point on getting this now would there?

I know I can't wait for this! I emailed the company and they replied with no useful info other then to check their site for an update.

There has been no official determination of a release date as of yet. Please check StarPlayr.com often for the latest news as well as any official release dates.

It will work on anything with software version 2.1 and greater.

Yes, but this is a Sirius/XM radio streamer. It will be the first of it's kind on the AppStore

I'm excited for the app, except that sirius won't let me locate my sirius username. I already have a subscription to the sirius on multiple radios and none of the esn work when trying to locate my username. I guess I have to call sirius but dealing with any customer service is always a pain. If anyone has any help I'd appreciate it.

Yeah, and how many of them stream Howard Stern? If you subscribe to SiriusXM you know this is going to be fantastic.

From their site:

Update: As of yesterday (Feb 26th), the uSirius StarPlayr Application for iPhone still had a status of "In Review" with Apple. Later in the evening we became aware that the application was not rejected, however could not be approved at this time.

As fans, we are committed to continuing to work with all parties involved as necessary in any capacity required to see this product to market. It is our goal, as it has always been, to release this application at as low of a price point as possible, if not free of charge.

We thank all of our supporters and users of our current offerings, as well as those who have been patiently waiting and Beta testing while we work to bring uSirius StarPlayr for iPhone to market.

Sincerely,

The NiceMac Team

ooh that slacker reference is a direct hit on the excellent Slacker internet radio app in the itunes app store. IMO Sirius/XM has gone way downhill so now i listen to Slacker which is FREE. You can get a sub to slacker which is way cheaper than Sirius/XM. It's far superior so check it out sat rad people :)

No biggie, as Sirus XM has a free player on the way.
