Just got the 6 row column on my iPhone, so that takes away the need for categories for me. Any one else get this?

Yeah we are in the jailbroken sub-forum :p
Well winterboard: status springdots, no undocked icon labels.
And then Five Column, FiveIRows, and Five icon dock.

I used 5 row with the mini-icon themes before, and they worked fine, but large icons with a flood of apps is just overdoing it and looks rather ugly in my opinion.

If you decide to remove the 5 rows/columns will your apps be in the same order? I've used 5 rows before when I removed it the order got scrambled up a little
i guess it came out last 4131
whenever i respring, most of the apps shuffle around so i gave up on keeping them organized.

Wow yours are really scrunched up.
In winterboard, check mark these: status springdots, no undocked icon labels.
And bring them to the top if you need to. It will get your more space. and look less crowded

And I still have a bunch of space on the bottom of them all. Anyone know any way to space out my apps more in this situation? It could look nice, I wouldn't have any overlap.

Look at all that gaming goodness.
I can now have 270 games on my Touch at a time :D
all together that's 330 apps, that's better then standard 144 on 9 pages, but I have 11 pages

How do you have 11 pages?
I'm really not sure how I got 11 pages, I updated 5 columns and then all my apps got spread out then I had 11 pages

Are you on 3.0? Because my phone is on the beta and it has 11 pages.
My touch is jailbroken but I haven't reached nine pages anyway with this set-up. If I had 330 apps though on my device though,, I wouldn't ever use them all.

Just install categories and put all your apps in folders. You can fit as many as you want in there and not reach the page limit.
I got the 11 pages back in feb and that's using 2.2.1, like I said I don't know exactly what I did

That's unfortunate. Lol.
Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling it? With a respring and restart of the device?

The only thing I hate about Categories is that it takes a few seconds to go into a folder. I like to turn on, click, and go. And I don't play more than 270 games at a time, especially with appbackup that lets me save progress and then restore progress.

In winterboard, there is a setting called "statusbar springdots", check that.
Moves your clock over to the right, and puts the dots at the top.

Ya, that was my problem with the 5 icon, being that it doesn't have the smooth flow of sliding since the last row just appears. But 40 new icons is a pretty good trade-off.;)

So is there a way to set this up where it starts on page 2? I keep all of my stock apps on my first springboard page and wouldnt really like the cluttered look on the first page.

It was just there for me when I installed winterboard. Maybe re-install it/update it? Has it been a while since you got it?

I installed it shortly after jailbreaking a couple weeks ago.
How many apps can you install on the jail broken software?
I hear you even have folders something apple is dragging their feet on.

Get SpringBackup.
Save a copy of your springboard.
Then if your icons get messed up you can use springbackup and go back to your original setup.
It's dangerous. Don't Springback to your original setup if you downloaded a new app that isn't in your original setup. Or deleting.
So you have to be careful or you're screwed and need to restore.
To get Status bar page indicators.
Download FiveiRow from cydia with no GUI.
It includes the Status bar Page indicators as an option in winterboard.

I was going to try to install the iNav theme, so I moved all my games into a "games" folder using categories and moved most of my other apps to an "apps" folder. So when I restarted springboard, I got the 7-or-so apps I didn't move into any folder, and the games and apps folder...and also 9 pages of blank icons. Anyone know how to get rid of them?
Edit: nvm, I removed the iNav package (decided I didn't like the theme) and they all disappeared

Oh I found what you need to do!
Go install the touch-mania repo. http://cydia.touch-mania.com
And go install "StatusBar Dots" theme. And apply it via winterboard.
I didn't know it had it's own theme. :o
