Okay, here's my review of App Tech Studio's game Aerial Combat:
Aerial Combat was incredibly fast in installing, so I didn't have to wait and lose interest. When I opened the app, it took me a while to get used to all the buttons on the screen, but I eventually found out what each of them were. There was a boater mode, a pilot mode, and a gunner mode, each with easy and hard difficulties.
Boater mode was a mode where you are a boat in the water, dodging bullets shot at you from high above planes. You tilt your device from left to right to move your boat. While seemingly easy, it kept me on my toes dodging those bullets, eventually coming to my downfall after dodging one bullet. It seemed to have good controls, and when you stopped tilting, the boat would stay in place rather than keep wobbling. However, I found a glitch in this mode where, try as you might, your boat won't move, resulting in a game over pretty quickly. Minus the glitch, this mode was actually really fun.
Pilot mode was basically the opposite of boater mode, and places you as the plane. It automatically shoots bullets, and boats are sailing beneath you. You have to move your plane over the boat, and hope it shoots at that moment. The auto-shoot feature didn't seem to work well with me, and it would be nice if you had an option to tap to shoot rather than have the game do it for you.
Gunner mode was perhaps my favorite mode, being the one where you shoot a huge gun. You have two guns, each separated from each other, one to the far left and one in the center. Planes flew overhead, and you had to have good timing and fast reflexes to shoot them all down. But there was a catch: Each gun could only shoot once each second. So you had to alternate between each gun, and sometimes shoot earlier and sometimes later than you would shoot with the other gun. It was this mode that I finally got a highscore over 5, and I was happy about that.
Pros:
-Three minigames
-Addicting fun
-Good for on the go
-Good time-waster
-Nice graphics
Cons:
-In highscores list, buttons are hard to press
Things to Add:
-Medium difficulty
-Option to turn auto-shoot off
-Unlockable landscapes to play in
Overall, Aerial Combat is a 3-in-1 deal that is pretty addicting. Whether you're spending an hour trying to beat your highscore, or have five minutes before you go, Aerial Combat is the app for you.
