Oh dear oh dear oh dear!
I've only been playing for 10 minutes and i'm picking up a really, REALLY annoying control bug. :(
On Advanced control, it says the left 2/3 is for turning and the right 1/3 is for thrusters. HOWEVER...
...
That left 2/3 seems to also consist of a small section on the right hand side of the screen...
How did beta testers not pick up on that?! It renders it almost impossible to use. I go to turn left, then boost out the way suddenly, and instead, all that happens is with my left thumb OFF THE SCREEN, I am simply standing still and turning in circles for a full two seconds then getting killed.
Back to learning basic control method until that's fixed then...

I keep treating that bottom left "analog stick" as an analog stick, and it got me no where. I just tap it now to control the direction of my ship. Also, its somewhat laggy, I have an iPod Touch 2G.

Definitely some lag on my 3.0b 3G. I thought it might be a beta issue. Great game, and boy is it challenging!
Minor quibbles:
1. The game doesn't seem to save your progress if you exit and then relaunch - you have to start a new game. :(
2. The text is *extremely* hard to read - very small type, & no contrast. Maybe I'm just getting old, but would like it if devs took this into consideration.
3. The control scheme is good, but somehow I really like isotope's approach where the thumbstick recenters. I think all games should do that.
Anyway, quibbles aside, for 0.99 it's a total steal. Back to playing! :D

Basic scheme also has control problems...
I'm very, very disappointed. :(
The game itself is absolutely excellent, but with the level of precision it requires i'm having an awful lot of problems.
It's not very good at recognising multiple inputs. If i'm trying to turn my ship and fire at the same time, then keep turning and boost, it won't boost.
I've had several moments in my already short time of gameplay where i've completely let go of all movement controls only to find i'm not boosting, or shooting, i'm just continuously turning.
Or i've had my thumb completely off the shoot area and i've still been shooting while trying to boost, I know the beta testers have managed to get incredibly high scores but right now, to me, the controls are incredibly imprecise and very buggy and that's a huge huge shame. T_T

I only notice lag at the beginning of the level and after the core blows up (YAY shoot the core). I like the gameplay a lot. You can't spam your weapon since it has to "reload" or something, so you have to be smart. You're going through a bunch of zones trying to shoot these keys to unlock the core so you can blow it up and move on to the next level.

It's not a matter of 'getting used to the controls' unfortunately...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v55/Psyvarian/IMG_0030.png
This is Advanced mode.
That line on the left hand side? That's the initial starting point for movement.
That line on the right hand side of the screen? That's "Screen wrapped" from the left hand side - Gone off the left hand side of the screen, reappeared on the right, and I am currently trying to boost away while that line is still there, and currently turning in circles.
It happens 99% of the time.
on Basic mode, The control wheel will suddenly not recognise input, and the right hand side of the screen will keep firing when my thumb is nowhere near the shoot button area.
Beta testers, what were you doing all this time. :(
Cant believe the price! An instant buy, downloading now :)

Sure enough Safe Mode let me play a full round. However, putting my phone into safe mode to play a single game is not acceptable though. The whole reason I jailbroke my phone was for SBSettings and StatusNoifier. I'll play a week then delete it which is a huge shame considering the how much I like it =(

I found an interesting bug. I paused the game to answer the phone (not my iphone) and when I came back I had a Game Over screen. This really pissed me off because I was going for a high score. It seems like the game unpaused itself while I was gone. I haven't had a chance to recheck this but it seems like a bug to me.
Otherwise, the controls are getting easier and there is only occasional lag.

After playing for a few moments when I have some slowdown at work I have gotten more used to the controls. The lag only hits in the beginning 5 seconds of a level and when the core blows which I wish would be a nice transition but I can handle that. Good game and worth the $1!
I also see the issue with exiting the game and the game not saving which can be a bit frustrating.

i just tried this fer a few minutes, so its not really a fair mini review of tha game but .. i dont enjoy this game .. at all.
visually it seems a bit ropey, kinda oki, but nowhere near as slick as the other shooter in tha store. the ship sprite looks jagged for a start. anyhow, eventually we get into tha game and wow, it wasnt a great experience. first go i could move ma ship around whilst firing some poorly realised laser beam .. 2nd game i couldnt move at all, just in a circle .. with no help anywhere as to explain why.
not a good start. isotope smashes this game for playability into tha floor tbh.
i'll go back and edit this post if i enjoy it after another try or 2.

I have an iPod touch 2G jailbroken, and it doesn't lag nor crash for me, it's only lagged for me once in the week that I've played it as a reviewer. Did you guys reboot your devices before playing?
For those of you having problems with the controls, trust me, give it some time and you'll see once you get used to it you'll start to grin when you blast the enemies with ease.
Bat Outta Hell, it's 0.99, take the plunge and I promise you it's an awesome game. I didn't feel there were any bugs when I played it, maybe it was just my preview build? lol. I ALWAYS reboot after installing anything, force of habit from beta testing.
But the copy you are using is the beta version not a retail version. Have you tried playing the version from the appstore? It would be good to get answers from someone who has both versions to compare against
I'm not a beta tester, so don't take what I say as complete truth but what I can say from my personal experience is that the advanced controls hasn't done that to me yet.
Reading your problems with the controls, none of those have happened to me at all, suffice to say -- I'm actually quite surprised. The advanced controls' left line should be further to the left, and there has never been a line way to the right like yours.
As with the basic controls too, the control wheel doesn't recognize input? I can say that it hasn't happened to me at all.
Hm, which device are you running it with? I kind'a feel for you because you can't enjoy such a great game to its fullest extent, but since last week I've been playing this and have had a great time with it. Maybe Shay can explain the problem to some of you once he sees this thread.
But for now, as I said before, I've experienced very little slowdown, and had no problems with the controls (apart from the first few plays where it was rather difficult to control the ship).
EDIT:

Pretty sure mine isn't the beta, since Chillingo gave me the "almost final build of the game" for me to use to write the review, so I'm assuming it's as close as the final in the App Store. Regardless, I just purchased the game in the App Store to see what's up with the final retail version and compare it with the reviewer's build.

Awesome. I think I know what the issue is but I'm really hoping it's not that. But I've had the issue come up when dealing with certain anti piracy code. It doesn't work in ad-hoc builds so it makes checking compatibility for pwned devices so much harder before it hits the appstore

When I tap the right hand side of the screen, the very specifically pointed out '1/3 on the right hand side', i'm supposed to spin in anticlockwise circles and not boost?
I understand very well how to use the controls thank you very much, they're not that difficult to understand - But when I lift my left thumb off the screen, I shouldn't still be turning.

I've been playing for close to a hour on this (while waiting for a WoW raid to start). I can honestly say I love this game. Its a fun and refreshing experience and thank God its not another Geometry Wars clone.
EDIT: I just noticed something, try playing the game in "offline" mode, the lag at the beginning of the stage doesn't even occur.

Be that as it may, what about comparison in terms of depth. Isotope has quite a bit of features, like levels that have walls (as opposed to just a large square), ships you can purchase, abilities, modules, etc. It also has a decent sized campaign. How does CS One compare to that?

So the advanced controls are SUPPOSED to wrap around the left hand side of the screen and appear on the right hand side?
When I tap the right hand side of the screen, the very specifically pointed out '1/3 on the right hand side', i'm supposed to spin in anticlockwise circles and not boost?
I understand very well how to use the controls thank you very much, they're not that difficult to understand - But when I lift my left thumb off the screen, I shouldn't still be turning.
You're right that it shouldn't be like that, but it is strange that isn't happening for everyone else.
I am currently using the advanced controls here is what is happening:
Touch right side - ship accelerates forward
Touch left side and drag - rotate (couter)clockwise
Touch left side - nothing happens unless moving

You aren't using the advanced controls correctly.
You tap once on the left to create a line. Then drag. The second line is how the ship moves relative to the first line.
<----- drag left to rotate Counter Clockwise || drag right to rotate clockwise----->
Just a single tap on the left shouldn't do anything

I honestly have to say I'm not liking the Advance controls at all. Though I wish the Basic mode's buttom left "Analog stick" was a bit higher...
I haven't heard much comparison to Isotope... Is this game worth picking up if one already has Isotope?
I have nearly every Geometry Wars-clone type of game, and CS.One has its own distinct flair to it unmatched by any other mimicries of said genre/game. By the way Vegas, I have an exam in an hour's time so I might have to get back to you on the whole comparison issue in a few hours time. Hope that's alright with you.

Why? Microsoft owns the right's to the PGR series not to Geometry Wars. Bizarre Creations still owns it, that's why there was a DS version of it ;)

How flattering lol.
Alright here my impressions:
The work that must've went into this game has to be more then double all the other crap games the appstore has. This game is a very high standard game. Don't be mistaken though just because it is a good game does not mean it is for everybody, it is a difficult game to get into, but from the time I just spent with it the controls are very "learnable". Casual Gamers beware, this is a hardcore gamers game, it has all the features of a hardcore game, mainly the controls there is a huge learning curve with them and for gamers who have no interest in games such as though intense FPS and action games they will not like this game. And im not talking about the action games that are supposedly hardcore because they have "flashy moves" and special attacks, im talking about the ones which give you no room for error and the ones which don't give you special training and powers to get of jams, the games which only require skill and practice.
If you have no intention of going in this game aiming to be on top then this probably isn't the game for you. There is no transition in this game, they give you rules, objectives and with the grit of your teeth and a bit of sweat and tears you complete it, no mini games or bombs that kill everyone just the occasional bullet.time.hack and your ships one gun. This is truly hardcore gamers game, and so far I like it.
Also, no lag or crash or anything whatsoever and im running a 1G ipodtouch and I didn't even restart the game and I have about 2-3gbs of all games through my 5 pages of apps so yea, don't know whay you guys are talking about.
To be good at this game will require alot of time so try to play enough to were your at least used to the controls.
edit:
The controls are also pretty interesting too, personally think it was a good idea the screen isnt cluttered with useless controls, very innovative, but also difficult like I said everything about this game is built for the hardcore gamer especially the controls. Oh and that wasn't a review just first impressions might post a review on itunes and here later.

2. The text is *extremely* hard to read - very small type, & no contrast. Maybe I'm just getting old, but would like it if devs took this into consideration.
My biggest issue so far is also the fact that I have a very hard time gauging the relative health of the data core (looks like dark purple on black).
It's a little odd to compare this to Geometry Wars other than the obvious fact that they are both stylistic top down shooters. This isn't about wacky powerups and varied weapons as it is much more mission based than Geometry Wars and the other shooters out there and maybe the ONLY one of these top down shooters where shooting the vast majority of bad guys on a level is completely optional. Does this game give point bonuses for completing a level quickly?

I've abandoned Advanced controls completely and gone for Basic, and i've been trying to concentrate on those.
I'm finally having fun. The controls still aren't PERFECT but i've figured out it happens if i'm trying to do things too quickly. If I take my time with what i'm trying to do, control errors rarely happen.
What causes my main problem in basic mode is the fact that the .exe area is far too small for my thumb. So I end up accidently pressing in the acceleration area and subconsciously dragging my thumb down. If you press then drag, it stays accelerating and won't start shooting... So i've gotten into the habit of double tapping and holding what I want to do, or feathering the throttle or the fire button instead of just going for one tap and hold.
It's giving me much better results but damn, it's still pretty poor implementation!

Are you Air Braking before firing? It helps when I want to make sure I destroy the surrounding targets
Though I keep my thrust setting low so if something appears close I'm screwed.
Has anyone tried switching to reverse thrust instead of Air Braking?

- It's $1
- Play with the basic controls first, don't dive into advanced right away.
- Reviews aren't conflicting, just takes time to control the ship
- Took me around 20 minutes to finally get some good scores going
- No ship customization, might be in updates
- The objective of the game won't require you to customize just yet, it's compelling enough as it is (IMO)
- The game is difficult
- High production values
- Awesome music and graphics
- Gameplay not as deep as Isotope, but gameplay is objective-incentive-based.
Hope that helps.

Ship customization might throw off the High Score table scores. Thats what I think. Even if the scores are all purged, there might be issues of balance.

Deathmatches would be awesome if it included a health bar so the spray and prayers can't just circle around and wait for you. A limited amount of enemies that can take away from your life and keep the match moving would be ideal. Wow, this game totally surprised me. I've seen the pre-release videos and everything, but never did I expect something like this. Gameplay for this game is astounding, and for you people who are worried about the controls, they're perfectly fine. They work great surprisingly, although the ship drifting after acceleration can get a little irritating, but not enough to ruin the gameplay. Ok so it goes something like this, you're a little ship hacking the network, and you have to shoot these red buttons found across the playing to access the core, then you can shoot the core until it explodes, therefore, beating the level. Sounds easy right? By level 3, it gets pretty hectic with all these shapes coming at you with lasers and red buttons appearing out of no where, making you lose a life/die. It's really fun, and controls shouldn't be a problem.
http://a1.phobos.apple.com/us/r1000/013/Purple/c8/f3/3d/mzl.klgmcjms.480x480-75.jpg
Graphics... what can I say. One of the best designed games I have ever seen (for the iPhone), and the menu is just amazingly designed. Whatever way you tilt, that's the way your menu will go also, which is hard to explain, but cool nonetheless. The retro/2.5D graphics in this game are absolutely gorgeous and totally blew my mind away. The colors, soundtrack, everything was beautifully done, and imo, this game has one of the best graphics on this device.
http://a1.phobos.apple.com/us/r1000/025/Purple/d4/ee/c8/mzl.hxaocmmb.480x480-75.jpg
Length of the game is no problem at all. There are a lot of achievements for you to achieve, and plus, it's more of a "beat your highscore" type of game. There are global highscores which is a huge plus since you know who has a better score than you. The highscores are also very easy to access, showing you the number one score and the score you need to beat to move up in rank. Again, it's very nicely designed so you can see everything quite clearly.
http://a1.phobos.apple.com/us/r1000/030/Purple/16/08/cb/mzl.dadqckjq.480x480-75.jpg
Replayability also shouldn't be a problem. I'm not sure about you other people, but I really want to try and be as high in the global highscores as possible. Not very good at this game, but still around #50 right now. I want to keep going back to this game, and that's a huge plus to any game.
http://a1.phobos.apple.com/us/r1000/010/Purple/65/44/c5/mzl.dqwdcbmo.480x480-75.jpg
This game is wonderful, design-wise and gameplay-wise, but there are a few things that I think should be changed. The dev is active here, so I don't think these issues will be a problem after an update or two, but here it goes. For the "double tap to continue" or whatever it says, please make it a little brighter so people can actually see it. I had a hard time reading what it said and barely noticed it when I first started the game. Another problem is the lag. Although for me it is almost nonexistent, there is still some lag in the beginning and end of the levels. Don't get me wrong, it's before you start playing and after the level is finished, but still, it is a little irritating. It also stutters, and the soundtrack replays what it says while the ship stops moving. This is a huge problem that I'm surprised the beta testers didn't catch.
Overall, this is a WONDERFUL/BEAUTIFUL game, and I can't recommend it enough. For 0.99, this is an absolute steal and should be bought by everyone with an iPod/iPhone. I don't care if you're a casual gamer or a hardcore gamer, kid or adult, this is a game that is wonderful in almost every area. Yeah yeah, you people have heard it lags and whatnot, fiddlesticks. It doesn't lag during the gameplay, and for 0.99, you can't say much. Must have for anyone and everyone, highly recommended game.

This is a wonderful game, beautiful graphics, 0.99. It's the price of a bottle of water, and for Pete's sake, this is worth WAYYYYY more than a bottle of water. I can clearly see this game took a very long time to make and shows the skill of this indie developer. Status for this game: must have.
I'm not sure I'm a fan of your review. It's more like a "what I think about it" write-up. You gave a rather generous score as well... 5/5? You're basically saying this is game is the best of the best and for everyone. I personally disagree with the length, in comparison to other titles in the genre, I don't think it's fair to give it 5/5. I don't own the game, but from what I've read, it's a high-score type of game.

It is a high score type of game. BUT, what makes it different are the global highscores and factions and all that great stuff. And I believe a review is pretty much what someone thought of a game. I believe this is one of the best of the best.

So, if it's a high-score game, then why does it receive 5/5 for length? I understand replayability since you can go back and try for a high score, but that doesn't make the content of the game any deeper.

I think he reviewed it also based on its price.
I bought it and stucked with control
what's wrong with it? I was thinking that it will be like in Nano Fighter and Isotope
I cannot pass even first level
Be patient, I think this will essentially be the problem with everyone who comes across this thread thinking "oh great, another arena shooter with dual stick controls!" *buys* and then comes here to tell us how hard the controls are.
The controls are definitely hard, but you'll get used to it. Why am I vouching for this game so much? Probably because it's right up my alley.
EDIT: Oops, didn't see the post above. VoodooVyper, I suggest you take the $1 plunge (which is light change for everyone) and decide for yourself. You'll probably enjoy it more than you think. With that said, I don't think it's a perfect 10 but its ruthless difficulty will make you want to play more and more until you get all the achievements.

Well theoretically, if you like the game, you will be playing it for a long time, hence the word length. And yes, I did sort of base my review on price as it is only 0.99. Sorry if my review didn't agree with you or it felt biased, but that review was an honest review of this game.

Didn't see your review before bud, awesome stuff. To be honest, I'd still buy the game if it was in the $3-5 range because of the time I've spent with it. I bought Peggle for $6 and I have yet to play that game for more than 2-3 times.

Wow, same here. Got Peggle, $5, and it never really struck me as awesome. I mean design was great, but gameplay wasn't really my type. This game just blew my socks off with the level of polish and stuff in the game. As of now, I have played it longer than Peggle.

I think it's clever and I'm glad I got it but, yeah, I'm not getting onboard the ultra super hype train for it.
I do think, however, I get how "longevity" is a very subjective thing and even if this game is pretty straight forward and minimalistic if compared to something like Isotope, there is a purity to it's simplicity of design (which is not to say it's easy since I suck horribly at it) but it really is simply blow up the shield generators to then blow up the core, rinse repeat (with many roaming baddies thrown in to make this simple mission easier said than done). I mean some folk can play Asteroids or Space Invaders for years on end who is to say these games don't have sufficient longevity?
Something as I discussed earlier that I find a very interesting aspect is this is the kind of game where you can go at it from two totally different perspectives. Fight a bunch of the roaming baddies to rack up as many points as possible before finishing the level OR try to avoid any but the most necessary opponents and rush to taking out the core as quick and efficiently as possible. The only top down shooter I know of where killing the many roaming baddies is completely optional (although the only way to get more bullet time fuel).

Does the game give any sort of time bonuses for finishing a level quickly or can points really only be made by shooting as many baddies as you can in rapid succession BEFORE hitting any of the generators?

I don't think the faster you complete the level the more points you get(correct me if im wrong), but that would be pretty cool you should suggest that when Shay/se7en gets on.
Not as high a score as everyone else, but blew my previous score out of the water.

Definitely loving the eye candy in this game. The bullets can be difficult to see, but it makes you aim carefully...don't spray and pray. Yes, the controls take a little time to get used to, but by no means are they that difficult. My comments about this game being pure awesome still stand but on various occasions:
1) I started at various points in the arena instead of starting directly south of the core (only happened on 2nd and 3rd stage)
2) I started playing before the camera zoomed all the way in on my ship, which made it look like a white comma trying to avoid multicolor periods. Basically unplayable
3) I was killed by turret fire from extremely long distances (over the entire length of the arena) or before I even spawned. Happened on stage 2, 3, and 5)
And I always seem to get a little bit of lag the closer enemies spawn. Which certainly makes split second escape manuvers a little difficult.

Actually iSpazio is an italian site about iPhone. I don't know about ispazio.net, but ispazio (http://www.spaziocellulare.com/ispazio) is not affiliated to piracy; it talks about jailbroken devices too, but jailbreaking doesn't necessarily mean every app on the device is a pirate copy!

no lags on my 3G... it reminds me a lot of games of the 80's.. for my atari2000xl, and my commie64... thrusting is an art form. light thrust is the way for myself to do it.
its a great game, and i like so many things about it. i hope more stages and music is added, but i don't know how you can add stages; they would all be sort of the same.
that being said, at .99$ it's a steal!!!
this game sticks out like a sore thumb amongst all the other games that utilize 2 joysticks, one for aiming and one for firing... it's more about skill now, and less about riding about and just firing any old way to kill as much as you can..
amazing game!

I'm using an original iPod touch.
I've reinstalled it, and it lags less, but it still gets far too choppy when there are enemies on screen. It can range from just a little bit clippy, to too-laggy-to-avoid-anything, and freezes fairly frequently (3 times in less than thirty-minutes play).
Reinstalling made it slightly better, so I don't know if anything else I could do could help. Does amount of free disc space make a difference?
But for now, I'm hoping for an update to reduce the lag before playing it again.

That's strange, the build I received earlier on in the week (review build) was less laggy than the retail. Maybe it's because I was playing Real Racing earlier, but I'll have to check again. Hm, weird.

I had that 1.1mil on Hardcore, but the most recent one was on easy because I couldn't be bothered posting up a 2mil highscore on Hardcore right after my exam. Really, really hard exam. Suffice to say, dying more than 10 times without posting up a new high score pissed me off. So I switched to easy and got that 1.9mil score. Now I'm back in the top 5 :)

The highest the network, the higher the enemy point value seems to go up. If you avoid the power supplies on around network 6/7 you can just completely milk the spawning enemies without destroying the terminal to get a couple of 100k's on your score before going for the next network.
My score was only Network 7 easy mode.

It's a common scoreboard. I think what's more interesting is the 'faction' element to the scoring, in that if you join a faction then you & team mates experience and scores will be combined for the online ranking of that faction.
It seems unfair that the default is to have no faction, or freelancer - but that in itself is a faction. So the freelancer faction will have the most members and probably the most xp/points overall. It would be good if the freelancer group wasn't displayed on the board, making it an incentive for someone to join up to another faction. :)

But if I get this right all one has to do to increase their groups ranking is to make sure all of the players are playing on Easy for massive scores, right?

Hardcore mode is easier to score on. Much easier.
Easy mode doesn't have even half as many enemy spawns.
Hardcore mode gives you a much higher multiplier much quicker, aswell as allowing you to rinse out the terminals for higher score a lot quicker. If you can put up with the higher concentration of enemies then Hardcore is an easier time scoring wise.

In a game that is all about getting a high score, this is a PAINFUL omission to me. Let's see, I could play in the basic mode OR shoot myself in the foot by playing in Hardcore Mode. I'm sure playing in Hardcore is a fun rewarding experience for the more skilled players but as it stands, it sounds its like drag racing with your brakes on the entire time.

There's more to it than that. Like Vally said, there's plenty more scoring opportunities on the higher difficulties. I got my first 1.8 million on medium, then the latest 2.6 million on easy - and yeah you can 'cheat' by milking the enemy spawns around level 6-7. But that 1.8M came much faster than the easy score, so I'm betting if I improve enough I can pull 3M+ on medium and eventually on hard too, in a shorter space of time than if I played on easy.

Alright guys, take it easy, cs.one leaderboards getting rather intense :p
I was going to mention that the harder modes allow you to rack up points easier, but this doesn't last too long with me. Damn a lot has happened here in a short time. I'm sorry I wasn't able to get online until now, I was a few states away at my GF's sons graduation when the game went live - I just thought it was more important to show him some support. That said, I have been dying to know what people think. Haha, I just read all 20something pages and my head hurts.
I took some notes and will do my best to try and answer the biggest issues.
1. LAG on jailbroken/iPod Touch 1st Gen
CS.One was not tested on any jailbroken devices. They are not supported by Apple I didn't have the money to go buy a bunch of new devices and jb them. Plus none of my tester or friends had them.
The app runs pretty much rock solid at 25-28MB and the "hard ceiling" for crashes, memory warnings and glitches is about 35MB on the iPhone. Because jailbroken devices can run background apps and processes I have no way to determine how much additional memory they will be using. I made the decision not to short the rest of the devices by scaling everything back.
This was an over sight but it also was not tested on any original touch devices. I don't have access to them and from everything that I have read they are horrible for any 3D or action heavy game. The original iPhone which I have isn't even very good. Hell, the 3G isn't even that good at it.
If Apple had just made the 2nd Gen touch we would all be rolling in sick games.
The current problem with CS.One accentuating these lag issues is that it checks the device to make some on the fly adjustments and smooth out frame rates but it cannot tell me the generation. So basically the best and worst devices are trying to push the most detail. Completely my fault and I will fix it ASAP.
Run in safe mode if jailbroken otherwise you might have some device memory issues and yes just like a desktop I would assume that having the device filled to the breaking point will effect performance. Most CPUs/GPUs like to have some room to think.
2. Leaderboards
There were quite a few attempt at balancing the skill levels so that playing on Hardcore would net more points. Every kill is worth more levels are worth 2x etc. - so in theory it was the right solution. Now that people *cough* Vally *cough are "milking" the easy mode its a different situation : ) Haha. I will spread the points more in the next build and maybe cap easy mode somewhere around level 5/6 and or just make it way harder at higher level.
I will be slowing down the turrets on all skill levels at high levels because they just spew bullets and it does lag the game for a fact. I would like to see more people be able to play at higher levels an achieve gigantic scores! Basically you should not be able to drop 2mil on Easy thats just cheating and/or someone really patient - those games must go on forever.
3. Local vs. Online score
Bat Outta Hell mentioned this, but it good for all to know. Just like XBox live your local scores and stats are always recorded. It will always try to update your online stats but you have to select Online for that to work. As soon as you complete a game the stats are updated.
So how many people have tried it with headphones on yet? Its really like a whole new game. You also get a lot of sound cues that help like when enemies spawn, etc. Plus everything just sounds so much more alive.
Thanks everyone for the feedback so far. Its all very helpful.
Okay I am off to work on getting an update ready for you guys : )

Hi! I created an online account for h.grenade online and was wondering if anyone knew whether you can change the name or not.
Thanks!

Thanks for the information. Great to know that it won't just get left.
For your information, I'm experiencing lag on my 3G iPhone that has never been jailbroken.

brerlappin - I just PM'ed you some info.
AClockworkSausage - The only slow downs we have seen are killing the core (mega explosion), loading a new level, when you hit a ton of enemies at once or on higher levels when the turrets are firing like crazy : )
I will do everything that I can to make this baby smoother on the lower end devices - meaning everything below a 2nd Gen touch!

Thanks for the support! I love this game but I have the same issues other people have had with lag and such. I'm on a 1st gen touch and I can't afford a 2nd gen one yet lol. I'll look forward to the update.

Does that mean that 3G users will have to resign to the fact that there will always be lag at the beginning and end of a stage or will you try and resolve this for us?
Since a stage can be over in a 10 - 20 seconds, lag is very noticable as it is appearing very often.
Maybe turn that explosion down a touch ;)

Yea the music/sounds are very nice and for some reason helps me concentrate more, it gets my adrenaline pumping to were my body can keep up with what my mind is trying to do. Very good game, going to see now if I can hit a million.
But only about 600 people have this game!?(referring to Vallys post with his screen shot of his score)

This game is the single most stunning shooter experience on the iPhone. Period. I just love it. Controls are great and you get used to it really quickly (I prefer advanced). The sound is just unbelievable! Masterpiece. Everything just fits. And I really like, that it's challenging as hell. But I see me starting over and over again. I'm already addicted. This is one of the best games in the App Store. I just forgot, that I purchased Real Racing... for real, this is too good.

Does the multiplier work by how fast you kill the enemies or is it just how many enemies you kill without dying?

1 star??? Does it run?? Does it offer what it says it offers? Did you get it on sale?? If you answered yes to any of those, then really the game deserves more than one star. Shit your pretty much saying this is one of the worst games on the app store. Is this an attempt to scare the developer into updating it really fast, to avoid your "omg one star review"!?? Give me a break. Go play a ds media game, they're truly one star games.

This is really a bad joke.
Perhaps now, you are a hero among your friends, but for the dev, this great game and the App Store system: this is just childish and silly!!
The controls and gameplay ARE EXPLAINED right before playing! Open your eyes!

It's my opinion and right to give it what I want. There are features needed that should be compulsory. If you're getting in a state over my review, it's you who are childish I'm afraid.

Then at least TRY to be A BIT more objective.
1 star is just crying for attention. There is a range of stars,
and for your little (and mostly personal / not urgent) requests,
a 2 or 3 star would be way more trustworthy...
But this 1 star rating is just a cheap fighting with the dev instead
of improving the app.
EDIT: I hope, you found the in-game explanations... Pitty, that gamers cannot be rated ;)

I was about to agree with you but then you made it personal. I hope for your sake you're still a teenager cus' you've got some growing up to do.
As for the game, I am enjoying it and will probably update my score to three stars now I see you can double tap the instructions before the level starts, but you have to be quick. It's a poor implementation of instructions about gameplay, point systems and levelling up details that let this down.
It really annoyed me when I accidentally skipped through the initial instructions and couldn't go back to the menu and then after I died I found there was no help section so I took it out on the App store review.
But, once again that's my perogative and nothing to do with you, so there's no need for you to go all defensive over it, unless you work for Chillingo or the dev...

After playing over an hour straight, I'm really digging the controls. Everything seems so fluid and natural to me now. I am also of the opinion, however, much like some people, that it still needs some minor tweaks. My main gripes, and maybe I'm not aware of this feature yet, but I would like to see a level select screen, and be able to continue from a save point after exiting the game. Other than that - Stellar effort.

Don't post your "opinion" on a public forum and you won't have to defend it. Nobody's being childish my friend, your one star review, as you just said was just a hissy fit at not finding the instructions. What did you hope to achieve by posting here, that you posted a one star review?

Well I don't think a save point would work as this game is a "score chaser" not exactly save friendly:)

Go to achievements and click on the web portal. It will bring you to a login screen where you'll sign up, and then allows you to pick one of like 8-9 factions. It's pretty cool and hopefully he can expand on it in a future update.
