It's windy and kinda chilly out but it's beautiful here. No sign of Trepidoid scum anywhere. Perhaps we scared them off with our fortitude... Determination.

Captain, I gave it my best shot but, alas, it was not good enough. Although I failed to complete the quest, the journey was an adventure and well worth it ($15 in gas). I thank you for this opportunity and will gladly serve again if would have me do so.

The travel home will be bittersweet - mostly bitter.

Drove my truck up there. I did 4-5 laps around that spire...looked high and low. Stuck my head inside, got spiderwebs and gunk in my hair...well what hair I have. Reached in scary dark places, poked my camera in and took some photos around corners so I could see.

Moved wood, rocks. I tell you if it was well hidden I would have found it, but there's no way any bystander could find it unless it was easily visible from the outside. You can't walk into the thing.

So after 20 mins to half an hour 3 kids came up and sat next to the spire. The had a guitar and a flute and were smoking a joint. I asked if they'd seen any aliens and they said, "Not yet! But we will!"

Okay they didn't say that. So I left empty handed, totally bummed. I really wanted to find the thing, and if it was still in there, I would have.

It was over a 3 hour trip but it was cool. Would have been so much cooler if Jerky could have gone! Well I tried for ya dude! That code may still be floating around somewhere.

It has, and seriously, get it. It probably the best touch-shooter out there. Instead of getting a HUD with an unchanging view, you get a first person view of a swooping ship dodging all sorts of space debris and trepizoids. On the third level, the view was so cinematic that I thought it was a cutscene. GET. IT.

If the Captain ever decides to hit Florida (or in 4 years, and more unlikely, Boston), I will be there in a heartbeat. So glad I found Touch Arcade.

Even though I've lived near SF all my life, I'd never been in that part of the Presidio, or seen the Spire...of course it's only a few years old at most. After seeing the satellite images and the GG video, it was a trip to turn the corner and suddenly see the Spire...there it was!

I'm glad I got that on video too, I was genuinely surprised to see it. I thought it would be further up the road. The golf course is right where I turned into that gate area, like 10 seconds before I saw the Spire. The parking lot I pulled into - everything was right where it should be. Of course.

I'd love to hear from the Cap'n and find out how well or poorly the disc was hidden. There's no way it's still there unless they threw it into the middle where nobody could get to it. Even the I should have seen it. The Spire is only 8-9 feet in diameter (less than 3 meters).

A few people walked by with their dogs and must have wondered what the hell I was doing sticking my head in there! When I left I looked at the kid with the guitar and nodded. He said "cheers!" and took a hit off his joint. They came up there just to play their instruments while sitting next to the structure.

Wow. That was the shortest game I've ever played. It was so sad when I finished it, I was really hoping to fight IN the mothership, but with 6 levels and two of them being training levels, I was hoping it would be longer. That's the biggest letdown, otherwise it's amazingly well made, with tons of dialogue and epic music, along with great graphics and on rail shooting excitement. SOOO SHORT THOUGH! the trepidoids last about oh... 20 minutes? I was hoping to raid their homeplanet too. But hey, it's a buck, and ezone is known for updating crazy snowboard a bunch, so I can definitely expect more. The medals are awesome btw, I wish you could cycle through them though, I love the descriptions =P

An hour and a half? ... *cough* It is an in-spiral-ing picture, I'll give you that. I mean, look at mine. It's horrible. The paper's shadow is barely perceptible. The trepidoid, the eyes are off by a few millimeters. The candle's a little too waxy looking.

Just before I lost contact with him he was able to transmit these two images. I'm not really sure what they mean, or if they are any help, but he said Commander Schplurg might be able to use them. The info disc is finally back in our hands! There was a strange code etched into the surface of the disc. I was able to decypher some of it, but it's tough so I left the rest to Jerky to figure out.

I guess I must have been captured before I could find it the first time I was up there...I don't remember that entire trip. I remember reaching behind many sections of that Spire though.

This time there was no sign of a Trepidoid presence. The doorway (or tele-portal?) I found when I discovered their base is gone as well. It's just a bunch of logs now.

I thought that perhaps I'd see the Captain and the Wingman wandering around up there...I thought perhaps they had been released when the base blew on Sunday, but I did not see them. Hopefully they are okay.

Well I'm having trouble extracting any information from it. Either it was damaged by the weather or.....

My theory is that the disc is blank and was used as bait to capture one of us. The Trepidoids probably knew the Captain would follow them and observe them as they hid the disc inside the Spire. After chasing him away they merely had to wait for one of us to try and retrieve it.

Why they did not simply grab the Cap'n that night is a big question. Perhaps they figured that if a Cadet were captured (as I was) that there was a much lower likelihood of a rescue attempt. If, however, the Captain were captured, there would most certainly be one. Or maybe they figured a fresh Cadet would be easier to brainwash than a hardened Galactic Captain.

Just a theory, but it seems logical, especially since the disc appears to be blank. I'll check it out some more though.

I'd like to say that I just got back from a massive space
battle with an entire Galactic fleet of Trepidoid fighters...

... but I can't say that... because it didn't happen.

What did happen is far, far less impressive, in fact you might
say it's a little bit embarrassing.

Without naming any names (WingmanB), someone accidentally
flicked the wrong button on the control panel outside my
sleeping quarters and I have been in forced suspended animation
for the last day!

I finally get out and return to this thread to find many things
have happened.

Commander Schplurg has been having an interesting time,
and the entries into the "BIG" plan contest have been slowly
trickling in.

A lot of good entries mind you, but I would have thought that everyone
would have wanted to win my iPod touch!?!

We need a few more entries cadets!!
The Trepidoids are getting even more cranky! (If that's possible).
