I must say I was a little worried. SGN has had a less that average performance in the games category. While they pumped out a good many games for free, most of them were well below playing level (I'm looking at you SGN Basketball...).

Anyways, I had been psyched for this game since I first saw it, a long time a go in a land far away, in which this game was supposed to be free. I was dissapointed that it cost $9.99, but I had to have it. I love games like this, and I must say, I was not disappointed.

Graphics:
The graphics are amazing. They rival and/ or beat the graphics of X-Plane. Since pictures are worth a thousand words, here is a picture displaying 3 of the 5 elements I love about the graphics

That would be the plane itself, the sun's reflection and the water. The ground is good looking too. The other graphic elements that are spectacular are the explosions and the rockets unconnecting from the plane's under-wing (There's something relaxing about knowing your opponent will soon be obliterated).
Final: 4/5

Gameplay:
In this game, you're a free-flying pilot apparently wanting to obliterate everything that moves in the sky. You can pick your speed by sliding your finger up (increase) or down (decrease) in the middle of the screen. The right button firse your machine gun and the left your missiles. The bottom buttons control your boost and your missile switch (apparently there are two types of missles?). In the top there is a pause button, camera switch (more on that soon), a radar and a 3rd Person something or other that I haven't found the purpose of yet.

There are four different camera angles. The one shown above, an inverted one (that's not very helpful... don't use it), a cockpit without windshied:

And a cockpit view WITH windshield:

Two nice little features is that A) when missles hit the ground they make pretty cool explosions and B) if the planes crash, they both get ripped apart in an awesome explosion of... well, awesomeness.
Final: 5/5

Menu:
The Menu is pretty snazzy. SNG put a fairly large amount of work making sure this game was perfect. Like before, here are some pictures of the menu:

This is the multiplayer game selection screen. You can see that you can have 1v1 and 2v2 matches.

That's the plane selection screen. So far I have a total of 9 planes, and I don't know how many there are (sorry!)
Final: 4/5

Multiplayer:
Now we know that Multiplayer is obviously a big part of this game. Outside of the missions to do, multiplayer is the only thing to do. In multiplayer, like I said before, you have the options to play 1v1, 2v2 and create or join a private party, allowing you to play with your friends- a VERY useful feature.
Final: 4/5

While the price might be incredibly steep, this game is definitely worth it. While this game is great for people who have WiFi, it's still a viable dogfight game for those hardcore plane pilots. This game was extremely well done by SGN, and I would not be surprised to see it catapult it's way onto the top 50 list!

4.3/5
