Hopefully Worms! I think it would be awesome if they added bluetooth multiplayer with push notifications if somebody wanted to battle you. :D Also, Tyrian, I want that to come out so bad!:)

Just rumors and not games but over at MacRumors I read two interesting threads concerning two apps:

Sirius XM app supposedly releasing Thursday or Friday of this week at a $2.99 price point but you also need to shell out $12.99 per mo/for internet only streams.

&

The ever talked about Hulu app releasing by end of June if approved.

Of course both could still just be a bunch of BS. We will see. Baseball Slugger should be released by end of week though which I am looking forward to.

EDIT: Almost forgot the unlock for all iDevices on OS 3.0 (does not include iPhone 3G S) is also coming out tonight or tomorrow!

I have a 1Gen iPhone. Hated the servive where i live, so got out of the plan last year, and have just been using it for games. I don't have wi-fi where i live...will this update do anything for me?

game developers will update their games with the new features in 3.0 and spotlight, thats all I can think of thats not really web based

You know what might a good idea is to hold off a bit before updating to see what the initial reports and bugs are because there will be bugs and technical issues. I know everyone wants to jump on board at the stroke of midnight, but you may want to see how it plays out initially.

I just saw that. In this case, it may be better to wait a few hours after it's released to see what happens. Not all games and apps have been updated to 3.0, and you run the risk of them not working after the update. The beta had bugs in it, and you never know if they were all ironed out.

Pablo, Pablo, Pablo...someone in my office just tried it too, and it's not downloading either. I'm sure it will eventually, but I think need to be aware of the games and apps they have. Make sure you sync before you d/l.

Don't really care about that, back up takes 2 hours, and putting all my fav games back on takes 10 min. Tell that "someone in [your]... office" that "Pablo19 feels their pain" ;)

Personally if the 3.0 update did not as so much awesome to app's I would not bother, 2.2's web browsing and everything else is all I need since I brought my touch as a gaming device.

What exactly is the purpose to immediately jumping on 3.0? Is there really anything new in it that would be taken advantage of right away. I understand that games may utilize the DLC, Bluetooth, and Push notification upgrades, but I can't imagine that stuff is going to be streaming in tonight or even within a few days.

Is there anything else that I'm missing.

Hmm...well so far, as a 1st gen touch user, the only thing that I would really even consider getting this update for would be in-app purchasing if some of my favorite games have some cheap stuff I'd like to get.

Hell, I'll probably end up getting it no matter what, it'll just be a few weeks to a month from now. :o

Apple is gonna be screwing you though cuz they're requiring new games to all be compatible with 3.0, and prob not older versions. I don't know about everyone else, but I'm really just getting it for doom classic over bluetooth.

I'm gonna be getting it, but what ever happened to the new iPod touch? I thought the iPod touch has a new model for every new version (1.0, 2.0...).

I'm still on 1st gen.

Only games I really need are Tap Tap Revenge 2, The Sims 3, Need for Speed: Undercover, DoodleJump, Car Jack Streets, DinoSmash Online, and Tetris.

I look forward to Peer-to-Peer. :D

No, Apple is forcing devs to make their apps COMPATIBLE with 3.0. This does not mean that Apple is going to force devs to make apps incompatible with 2.1. Most new games should work with the old firmware. It's just the DLC and bluetooth stuff that won't.

Apple won't force devs but it will all depend on if you can live without the features of 3.0 or certain games that will require you to have 3.0 to play.

I remember PG just not long ago requiring 2.2.1 for their update when I was running 2.2. I think Assassin's Creed also required 2.2.1 as well. So I would not doubt there will be apps/games that require minimum of 3.0 down the line, so just be prepared.

Yeah apple didn't want Aus or NZ to get it first so they delayed it to the 18th in Aus and NZ :(

I was in an Apple Store today.

(1) My Wi-Fi Terminator Salvation Lite Edition download I'd briefly started off last night picked up and finished
while I was in the store...oops, I have set my iPhone to automatically connect and forgot... no, honest, stop sniggering there at the back!! (And a side note, I wasn't that impressed by it when playing it on the bus ride home)

(2) I asked when OS 3.0 would hit Australia. MIDNIGHT, buckos. :)

(3) I bought a $15 iTunes gift card to pick from anything big that's released with it. Harbor Master is a definite and Castle of Magic is an almost definite so that's already have the card gone... oh well.

Won't be getting it until the sun sticks his head out for some eggs on toast - just in case there are any major issues.

+1 I use YouTube on my iPod Touch way more than I use it on my laptop. I was always upset that I couldn't at least read comments, but happily now I can! :)
