As topic, I had spent over $200 right now for those app and I think I can't spent my cash on those app anymore.
Think it's now the right time to jailbreak my iPod Touch 2nd gen? Eager to get those themes.
Will I have any complicated issues then?

Reading into both the Dev Team's efforts and Cydia's followed mainstay apps, I'd wait to jailbreak 3.0. redsn0w and ultrasn0w are about it at the moment and not to say they aren't effective, and I know pwnagetool and quickpwn are the favored methods for the iTouch. Nothing serious happening as far as compatibility with the iPhone unlockers, but in my opinion, if you want all the goodies that are features for the iTouch, I'd wait for quickpwn. should be out by weeks end.

I'm kinda new to these jailbreaking things. So far I just know the name, redsnow, quickpwn, ultrasnow but didnt know the differences between them. What's cyndia anyway?
BTW is there a way to unjailbreak the iPod once I jailbreak it? Heard something about bricking issue which I wonder how does it happen.

I bricked mine yesterday. It stayed on the bootup screen for hours and then just turned off. All you have to do is put it in DFU mode and recover your device. It's a pain but you're safe from bricking.

Just stumbled across IPF forum and found this tutorial: http://www.ipodtouchfans.com/forums/showthread.php?t=203161.
Wonder will I have any complication while installing it? Need advice in real time.

Some are geared more toward the iphone, others are made for the itouch. They tend to be cross compatible most of the time from my understanding, but I'm no expert either as I don't jailbreak, I just read into the trends. Cydia is an app distribution program that allows you to install apps that did not or are not allowed in the app store. Many legitimate apps use Cydia to distribute their software, generally to modify the iphone/itouch devices in allowing them more features, functions and flexibility.
The only method I'm aware of to "unjailbreak" your device is to do a full firmware restore in itunes. I'm sure there's other methods that I am unaware of.

As you can see, D.Sync, your going to get varied methods, results and opinions on what causes bricking.

95% of the time, you shouldn't have any problems with jailbreak. It's on the first time you try that you may feel overly nervous that something will break. I should mention that it's the people who don't follow the instructions properly that have the problems.
There really isn't anything to be worried about. :)

I jailbroke a few days ago. My iPod is restoring back to a clean firmware right now, in less than a week. I hope that answers your question.

I first jailbroke mine a couple weeks ago. I restored it back to normal that same day.
A week after that I jailbroke again though.

There is one. Within Cydia go to Search, and then type in Little Big Planet. The theme has a full UI overhaul with over 60 icons.
I would keep in mind though with Winterboard (you need to install this via Cydia in order to use different themes) and a full theme on your device, your running memory will take a hit (128MB total onboard).
I have an iPhone 3G (your 2G Touch has better hardware) and with Winterboard and a lite theme (just a background and dimmed icons) my memory is less than 30MB out of 128MB and usually around 25MB - 15MB which slows down and crashes games at times. But I knew this going in, I just wanted a little change from the default iPhone look but I won't be keeping Winterboard on my device for ever.
So if you go in with those expectations you shouldn't have an issue, just remember things won't run as smoothly if you install a majority of the popular apps off of Cydia (SBSettings, Winterboard, Categories, different Themes and Backgrounder).
My main reason to jailbreak my iPhone was for the 3G unlock and to be able to download qTweeter, Snapture and Cycorder.

There is no good reason not to jailbreak. Bricking is next to impossible. You may have problems, but none of them are permanent. Worse case you restore and it's back to normal.

Thanks much for the clear elaboration guys. Guess I will try to jailbreak now. Better backup all my important files before doing it.
Also, I will not be using any cracked or pirated app. Just wanna try out some emulator (GBA) and custom theme from Cydia.

Another question, where is the backup files being stored? I plan to copy that file myself in case something wrong happened.
Just jailbroke mine. Now opening Cydia.
Is it possible to have more than 2 backup?

You can have more then one back-up. On my home PC I have 2 back-ups for my wife's iPhone and one for mine all one on iTunes account. It keeps the date next to the back-up so you know which is which.

iTunes keeps track of your backups anyhow. Shift + click on restore will open the folder with your backups.

Let me guess, you follow QuickPWN.com? That website is BS. See the real dev team site, there is no QuickPWN 3.0 in existence, and there NEVER will be! Redsn0w replaces QuickPWN!
