I installed 3.0 ipod touch 1g update. Then I jailbroke my ipod using Redsnow.
I got all my stuff back on it, a bunch of my apps and then i went to install something from cydia that required a reboot and now my ipod is stuck.
I try to turn it on and the boot logo pops up and is gone in 5 seconds.
Any ideas?

3.0 is messed up. Have you waited until the black screen is gone?

Explain what you mean by saying "Waited till the black screen was gone."

Have you tried restoring it in iTunes?

I cant get it into itunes...

EDIT:
Well I got it in iTunes to restore and should be able to restore it.
Any ideas on why it failed? Should I Jailbreak 3.0 again?

Hold down the power and home buttons and see if you can get in to DFU mode. From there you can restore your iPod if all else fails.

To be honest I have no idea, but try again, jailbreak is often trial and error until you get it to work. Just have patience. :D

Thanks. I am restoring back to 3.0. Then will decide from there.
I was just wondering if the new 3.0 jailbreak was prone to this kind of error.
And redsnow is the best program to use correct?

Yeah, redsn0w is what I used.
I haven't had any errors since I jailbroke, so I really can't say much about 3.0 being error prone.

My son (12 yrs old) and I both used redsn0w to jailbreak our iPhones without the slightest problem. My son later jailbroke my wife's iPhone, again without any problem at all.

It sounds like a hiccup on your end. Just restore and try again. You can't permanently damage your iPhone no matter what. The worst that can happen is you have to restore it.

Thanks for the help. I jailbroke it again and just putting stuff back on it.
Hopefully it will be error free.
