Stupid white screen of death

My phone just locked up...2nd time since getting it. White screen.

Last time I had to restore it...so no music on the way home. I guess I could listen to the radio.

Strange, when that happens to me I either can get back to the home screen and the app restarts when I touch it or I just do a hard reset (hold down power and home button and slide to power down). Either fixes any white screens I've gotten (only happens to me in Safari so far).

I have the same problem sometimes. What causes it?
