I'm impressed by both iMech and Minigore. iMech released a new video today and the action absolutely blows my mind. Minigore looks to be a blast as well. Definitely buying both on release day.

NgMoco's FPS, Gang$tar: West Coast Hustle, the update to fix Worms, Duke Nukem, Dexter, and hopefully the Tony Hawk port (if Activision approves of its use). That's what I am waiting for. Maybe Rogue Planet too.

I really don't get the hate for EA... sure, their initial games on the platform were not great, but as of late they have put out some great content (bar Mass Effect Galaxy).

The only title I'm anticipating and confirmed that it's being developed is the next RPG from Gamevil, Hybrid~Eternal Whispers. Not really interested in other titles especially stuff like Gangstars or however it's spelled.

Gang$tar is said to be released in mid August. I don't think NgMoco has given a release date for their FPS yet. I know how you feel about the money. I will most likely have to wait till Christmas.

It seems like we're in this kind of weird holding pattern right now. There are a bunch of anticipated games that are either pending approval or close to it. It seems like some of them (Touch KO, Minigore) are taking longer than everyone's expected, but I kind of think once one of them comes out, a floodgate will open, and there will be 2 or 3 big titles in one day. Perhaps just wishful thinking...it seems like there hasn't been a really big title in a while.

I'm glad it's taking longer to release these. It means the devs are taking their time to perfect it, and it also means that the games are getting more complex.

I agree with this...I think many people are frustrated with the inconsistent amount of time it takes Apple to approve games that are already submitted.

touch ko and minigore has already been submitted so they cant get any better. unless some updates. And those two arent taking longer than expected. Games that were released during last week took 15 days to get released. which means touch ko and minigore will be released after 15 days when they were submitted.

That's not exactly what I mean...I for one wonder why it takes over 2 weeks of approval time, especially when for certain developers it is a much quicker process. That's what I meant by Apple being inconsistent. Don't get me wrong, I can wait...I haven't made one post on those 2 game's threads, although I'm waiting for both.

i agree, i see a definite bias in the apple app store. it seems the little devs dont get as much "help" as the big names...

there not being unfair. too be honest chillingo is a big publisher for the appstore. And if they did let apps made by big names get there apps approved faster i dont think thats fair. but i dont think they approve apps based on how big a company is.

I think I've heard they do exactly that...but I'm not positive, it could be conspiracy theorists. I say we should keep an eye on how fast they approve Pac Man Remix...that's a big title with lots of cross-generational appeal by a big developer. It just got submitted...if we see it in less than 2 weeks, it could prove this point.

I can only speak for our development team at Flying Dino but for iMech we spent over 5 weeks on just polish and bug testing. 3.0 firmware also really screwed things up because frame rates on 3.0 firmware dropped by nearly 1/3 so we had to go back and optimize a lot of the 3D code. Games are getting a lot more complex compared to the first batch of titles last year and expectations on quality will only climb as time goes on. It's just the reality of a growing platform.

i dont think thats gonna prove the point. because sometimes the apps get approved faster regardless of how big the company is.

The one game im eagerly anticipating is the Resident Evil 4 port thats been shown recently, hopefully the tales of "end of the month" wont be a complete fabrication and the US/UK version will see the light of day shortly after the Jap release.

Why then? Why is it that games that don't get rejected in the approval process may take anywhere from days to weeks? I could understand it if Apple asks for changes that it would add time, but if there are no problems, why the inconsistency? I'm honestly curious...I don't have any agenda.

Length of queue, day of submission (weekday vs. weekend), functionality of title, issue(s) clarification via email, these things all slow down the process.

im not sure if that is the case. it doesnt matter really, i guess. unless someone here has actually worked at apple approving apps, its all just speculation.

Right now I'm hoping to bump into a game that really gets to me, like Real Racing did. But as long as such is game is not in the picture, I'll await Gangstar...
