Do your player's skills increase game to game. Can you allocate points that are garned for good play to your squad?

Do you keep player stats game to game? Is this franchise based that remebers you stats from game to game?

Is this one game against one or a few you opponents? League elements?

My thinking on the RPG factor was that the role you are playing is that of the Special Teams coach, who has been placed in the position of calling all the plays bc/ the other coaches came down with the flu. After specific achievements are made during the game, you are given the option to choose new plays to add to your playbook. To me that's the RPG aspect, but I'm sorry if there isnt lots of gold and +2 DragonSlayer Swords available to the coach, maybe in the next version! ;)

Player skills do not increase from game to game. As a matter of fact (game hint on the way!), if you overuse a player during the game his skills can decrease. But everything is refreshed whenever a new game starts.

Stats are kept for each level. So if you play San Dimas HS, the stats will be saved, but if you play San Dimas again, the stats will be overwritten with the newest game stats.

There are three levels. High School, College, and Pro. League play, and head-to-head options are on the discussion table right now, that depends on the interest level we receive from players.

Thanks. Good to know. Right now, I'll hold off for either a sale, or an official announcement. Maybe I'll get lucky on a twitter promo code, and be blown away though. But kudos to you guys, there is, IMO, a real vacuum of strategy sports games, basically EWB Baseball, and thats about it. Football is perfect for this sort of thing, and while play by play football tried, it failed in many regards. I look forward to hearing more from you guys :D

So I finished my first game. Solid game overall, but experienced some slowdown, and then the game crashed. I liked that it saved my progress, but I lost a play in the progress. Also, my guys couldnt pass for squat. Thankfully, a solid D and running game led to a 13-7 win. We pulled off a goaline, 4th and 1 stop with a minute left. Overall, a solid experience, but it seems like after you win the 3 games, there wont be much left to do. Some kind of lengthy season and/or multiplayer would lengthen the experience.

The game is great except I am coming up with some technical issues. All was runing smooth until the 4th quarter or so. The game began to slow down alot in the menus(picking plays) and the dots would sort of like move not as fluently. Then with 8 minutes left in the game everything frooze and I had to leave the app which was a bummer cause I was already unlocking plays ;) Besides that one issue, the game is great and a lot of fun!!

Oh, I didn't even know that! Once I frooze up I had to go with the family to dinner and couldn't play anymore but just got home and was able to play it again and it did start back up from where I was! :)

Just as I thought, PlayFootball is a great game for people who like football and for people who dont want to go through the hassle of controlling the players.

At first you only start with a few plays, but the coach can come in at any time and give you a new play out of the playbook.

Im not sure if you have to complete a certain criteria before he does this, but I think you do as the coach says things like he liked a play that you just did and then lets you select a new play from the playbook.

I have been unlocking new plays and find that there is quite a variety when you include the flip and switches.

The commentary from the guy off the street is pretty funny. He even has an EPIC FAIL comment! LOL

I like the customization options, but when typing the away team name, you cant see what you are typing because the keyboard gets in the way.

Sure it's fun for a short time, but I prefer games with more replay value. Especially in sports games which are more redundant by nature anyways. At least Madden is coming out tonight. I'm a huge football nut so I'm rooting for any decent iphone football game actually. :)

The console version is out tonight (well at midnight at GameStop). I haven't heard anything at all about the iphone version except that you can manage your online franchise team from it. Sadly, I'm guessing that means it's just an App and there won't be a real game.
