Hi all,

We are currently recruiting for two programmers with two or more years experience working at an established games studio. These are full-time employment positions located in our studio and unfortunately remote or part-time work is not possible.

Our studio is located in Melbourne, Australia's cultural capital, and is filled with about 35 genuinely friendly, down to earth people from all over the world. We aim for a working environment that is enjoyable, supportive, and challenges you to do your best work. Our people work in small, tight project teams, typically for 6-8 months, on iPhone as well as many other platforms.

We are looking for people who can make rational decisions, solve problems, take responsibility, but also go out on a limb sometimes and come up with something fresh.

If this interests you and you'd like to work on the next Flight Control, Real Racing, or big-name publisher AAA title, come join us, and make a difference!

Requirements

Fun. You should know how to make it!
Understanding of 3D maths essential.
Demonstrated understanding of how to translate a game design into code and fill in gaps as necessary.
Ability to quickly understand new codebases.
Passion for graphics programming and games.
Genuine interest in mobile and handheld platforms.
3D graphics or mobile experience a bonus.
Be self driven, with strong problem solving skills.

This is a new full-time role starting ASAP. Relocation assistance is available to the successful applicant, including visa sponsorship if you have 3+ years experience. Please check firemint.com/jobs (http://firemint.com/jobs.htm) for details on how to apply, or go straight to the application form (http://firemint.wufoo.com/forms/firemint-job-applications).

Firemint does not work with recruitment agencies. If you'd like to join our team, please contact us directly.

Are you a programmer Hmar9333? If so, keep working on your own games, we do hire graduates and self-taught people from time to time, and when we do we always say "show us your work"!

Now if that isn't a superb opportunity for someone in the southern hemisphere I don't know what is. Firemint just oozes quality.

Or northern hemisphere, we don't discriminate ;) We've hired from overseas before and would do it again for the right candidate. As long as they bring a sponge to mop up all that pesky quality that keeps oozing all over the place :D

:)

If you remember the 8 bit computing days then Firemint has always reminded me of Ultimate (later Rare) and, strangely enough, Melbourne House(Beam Software). Both companies produced few games during the Sinclair Spectrum era but all of them were groundbreaking at the time.

Quality above quantity. :D

That sounds like a fun position, but I don't meet the requirements. I only have about a year of experience, I am not interested in working on 3D projects (at the moment, and I can't move to Australia.

Oh yeah, and I don't know Australian :p

Yeah, that's us :) That is two photos stitched together, looking at either end of the open plan area of the studio. If you look for the plant in both shots you can see how they fit together, it's the same plant in both :)
