Hey! I'm inviting you all to participate in Freeverse's Warpgate Name-a-Planet contest!!
To celebrate the upcoming title, we've decided to open up the airwaves for players to create their own planet! Please find the rules below.
Although it says twitter RT are the M.O. for submissions, we're also hoping to hear from our beloved TA'ers, so submissions are ALSO accepted in the form of replies in this thread!
Read more about Warpgate here (http://toucharcade.com/2009/07/08/warp-gate-exclusive-sneak-peek/)...and watch this thread or our twitter for planet-spirational images!
Warpgate Contest Official-sounding PR
Just imagine an entire planet named whatever you please. A civilization bowing to your every whim, their whole world based on your own fancy. This could be your destiny in Freeverse's highly anticipated space trading game, Warpgate!
Freeverse is announcing a contest to name and describe a planet in their upcoming Warpgate, a 3D space trading and conquest game where players can master the galactic commodities market, battle space pirates, and meet several friendly and hostile alien species. In addition to ground-breaking graphics and unbounded gameplay, it features a fluid and ever changing economy, 6 warring factions, full arsenal of weapons including lasers, missiles, shields and beams. This is all spread over a galaxy of more than 75 planets and space stations in 32 star systems. Which will be yours? Enter today to win!
Simply follow Freeverse on twitter, and tweet your submission with your entry, @freeverse or the word #warpgate somewhere in the tweet! The winner will be announced September 7th, 2009 on http://twitter.com/freeverse and will be seen in-game upon release, along with a special in-game item named after the lucky planet creator!

Planet: Cryptonomicon
Earth like, fully automatic defenses, not inhabited
The population of Cryptonomicon used to be the top cryptanalytics in the Galaxy. Unfortunately they got so overwhelmed in Cryptography, that they forgot to reproduce...
Cryptonomicon is currently run by robots and automated defense systems, which seem to be impenetrable due to the vast amount of cryptographical security.
The automated space station in orbit is fully functional though and welcomes the galactic traveller with a luxury casino and spa.

Well, I propose : "Magrathea".
It's the name of the legendary planet of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.
The residents could be The Vogons, a bureaucratic alien race who loves poetry and are destructive aliens, because no one can support thei poems ;)
Thank you Douglas Adams fo HHGTTG :D

Maybe Lecryton
Vastly populated by human-like plants. Some are friendly and are civilized and can speak along bartering some rare items only found on this planet. Others are hostile barbarians that want nothing more than to plunder your ship and to see you dead. Large dense forests and jungles cover the planet making it hard to live there in addition to the hostile natives. Civilized "homoplants" (homo means man in Latin) rule the planet with democrocy and secretly are powerful dictators who want to rule the surronding solar system...
