Not sure if you guys noticed but there seems to be a lot of farting apps posted in the last few days.

A while back apple turned down a pull my finger app

http://www.iphonehacks.com/2008/09/app-rejected.html

but now i guess they have opened the farting flood gates.

Apple didn't approve of the apps at first. I remember the dev of "Pull My Finger" got a message that Apple didn't think that it would contribute to the app store and basically no one would want it. Recently, they reconsidered and allowed them into the app store and I guess they are a big hit right now :P

My personal favorite is iFart Mobile. Very juevenile but it can be fun ;)

[Edit] Looks like arn beat me to it :p

I find it ironic that Apple banned these farting apps and let crap like DS and AAA out. See what I did there? Looks easy but it's not...

Actually the developer "DS Effects." http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewArtist?id=289564763

Check out their games and reviews ;) Most definitely some of the worst stuff on the app store.

All these farting apps is the new Sudoku/Flashlight/Tipping calculator apps to the app store.
For some reason, 10 aren't enough.
Are farting apps really that popular??? Really??

As if everyone knows right off the cuff that "DS" is a reference to a developer. I didn't get it either.

This is what I think their business plans probably looked like.

1) Green chili for lunch
2) Download iPhone SDK
3) ????
4) PROFIT!

I think that I'm more interested to know where they get the sounds for the apps. That interests me, as I can only think on 1 way....

They "produce" their own noises. I don't see another sensible way.
