ok, whenever I open Cydia, it immediately crashes upon opening.
I'm running a jailbroken ipod touch 2g OS 3.0
I don't have ssh installed because ive been doing everything through ifile and now ifile is crashing whenever i try to delete something.
I've tried clearing my list cache to no avail.
I've even tried re-jailbreaking, but it still doesn't work.
And every time I try to delete something through cydelete, cydelete doesn't work.

Any suggestions? I'm trying to avoid restoring because i don't have aptbackup installed.

Have you tried the simplest method: restoring then backing up then rejailbreaking?

Did you try this method? It worked for me last time.

i keep getting an error message whenever i try to rename/dlete something in ifile.

i think the problem may have to do with an admob blocker i installed, because when i installed it, my ipod rebooted and after that, cydia stopped working.
can i uninstall cydia by unchecking the install cydia box while jailbreaking? oh, and whenever i try to install icy, i get an error message.
is there a way to delete cydia without ssh/icy/ifile?

iFile?
Used WinSCP instead please. That'll fix it for sure.

It has acually happened to me too, but I know how to fix it :D... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kY6C4xY6iqY

Not the same video I used, kinda forgot hehe... But it looks like this will work, or you can search all over youtube. No need for SSH or re-jailbreak!

This happened to me before. DO you have a bunch of themes installed? Do you have boss tool? Doubt it cause you probably are using 3.0 and there has yet to be a port of Bosstool. But anyway what happened to me was that i donwloaded many themes and my root partition memory got all filled up, basically. The only option i can think to do is re-jailbreak and install less themes.

So I've got an iPhone 2G 3.0. I'm finally ready to give JB a try. I'm a little confused though. I want to upgrade to 3.1 though, because I'm sick of my phone installing the wrong icons. Is this possible yet? And do I get cydia if I use either redsnow or pwnagetool? (I apolagize in advance for my complete and utter lameness)

there is currently no jailbreak for 3.1 yet, so its ok to upgrade, but you're not going to be jailbreaking until the dev team releases the jailbreak.
