Anyone finish Duke Nuke 'em?

Enjoying the game and control update; I am stuck on the level that begins in the boobie trapped sub. I just "fell" down a sewer, taken by the current, and landed in some water. I cannot figure out how to get out of this area. Please help if you can.

I can't speak for anyone else, but I haven't finished even level 2 yet. The controls still aren't great- especially when you've play modern combat.
