How do I use my Visa prepaid debit card to put money on my iTunes account? I entered the digit code on it into my payment options and it worked without error, but my account still has the same amount of money it did before. How do I transfer money?

So it just puts all my money on there and doesn't give me the ability to choose how much I want on it? WTF?!

Or.. Do you mean it does but I have to wait for the process? It's been about an hour.

Please and thank you. But after I've looked on the iTunes store, I didn't see anything on how to use a credit card. Nothing at all. So good luck.

I don't think that a prepaid credit card will work like an iTunes gift card - meaning I don't think it will credit your account - you can probably withdraw from it and the card will get debited and you will get your receipt but you will have to keep track of how much has been debited.

Its kind of like if you got a prepaid card for (say) $100 and then spent $1.99 - you still have your debit card in your possession so you could then use it for I dunno 25 dollars of groceries so there would be less than 75 dollars on it and then you get another app - and so on.

In other words a prepaid credit card is good in many locations and iTunes won't know that you want to apply the entire amount to your account but should recognize it as long as when you use it there is money left on it.

I use iTunes cards so can only go by friends that use credit cards and how it works for them - so this might not even be right but trying to help!

But how do I get the money from the card? I would like to know how I can get that $1.99 on my account, without having to send a ten dollar E card to myself.

I would also like to know if it is actually there or not. How do I know if Apple knows of its existence?

pretty sure it works like a bank-issued debit/credit card. You purchase an app or song, and it uses the card info to pull it from that account. i dont think you can tell itunes to pull a specified amount to have on there. you would have to use that card to purchase an itunes gift card, and then you would have credit under your itunes account.

When you buy something it will deduct the price from the balance on the card, it works like a normal credit card/atm card.

If you want to have an itunes account balance you would have to buy an itunes gift card then redeem the code. But since you bought it with the card it seems like more work for the same outcome

Just make the purchase and the debit card will be deducted the $1.99. You just won't have a total balance as if you used an iTunes gift card. It knows its there because its on your card. If you had a regular credit card and you went over limit then it would get rejected so its the same principle. If you run out of money on the card it won't let you make the purchase. If Apple accepted the card it knows its there when it checks during the purchase process.

I've used two prepaid "gift2go" visa debit cards and it has worked for me. Just follow these steps and you will buy anything with your card.

-Go to visa card site and register your card. You'll have to fill out your name, address, etc.
-After that you go to the itunes and store. If you already got an account, just edit your info to match the info you put when you registered your card.
-Remember when you put your card number, use spaces after every 4 numbers. I made the mistake of not putting spaces and it took me 2 hours to figure this out. Once I did that it finally worked

Ahhh. It all starts to make sense now. I already did the spaces between 4 numbers thing, but I didn't register it.

So, just to know that I'm doing it right, I have $5 on my account already. Will my account use that $5 for purchasing before it uses the card?

iTunes defaults to store credit, then withdraws the rest of the balance from the debit card. With the prepaid cards visa cards, I would get multiple games you want at once so it is calculated into one transaction/balance/receipt for all the games. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think those Prepaid debit cards take out a certain percentage for each transaction.
