Hey what's up, lately I have been "exploring" and finally decided to start collecting the bones I find. I'm hoping to get a large collection and place them in a glass case of some sort. So far I have half of a donkey's jaw (teeth still on it), many ribs, a spine of some animal, what appears to be the top jaw of a chipmunk, a shoulder blade possibly, and 2-4 thick bones which could be a leg? Not to sure as of now what most are but hoping to find more and get a large collection! :)

Edit: Click picture to make it larger.

Hmmmm...are you sure none of them are human?
Hard to tell the size in the picture, but the top row third one from the left looks kind of suspicious!

That is seriously one of the coolest things I've ever seen. I've always wanted to collect fossils and whatnot ever since I was a kid, totally obsessed with dinosaurs when I was young.

That's seriously cool though, I wish I could find some bones in my backyard :D

Yeah, I hope not! Unsure though, doing some more research on them tomorrow.

Thanks! I enjoy the exploration and the excitement in finding them. Can't wait to add to my collection :)

It looks too short and stout to be human, but you never know

I found a bone a couple of years ago...

Only bad thing was that it was sticking out of my arm...

Nada. Adrenaline is so amazing. It's really cool how it sorta 'cancels' everything...

Which, when you're thinking about it, it SHOULD be easier to cancel pain out... I dunno why it isn't...

Heres a pic of Red Rock, this is once we made it to the top. It was pretty easy, just didn't want to fall due to a backpack full of bones :P

It's a possibility, but thinking of just handing over anything after searching for it for so long won't be easy! ;)

Haha yeah, I need to figure out what I already have so I can stop just calling them by their looks. It isn't easy though, lots of wildlife out there with different bone structures. The only one I know for sure is the donkey jaw :P
Hopefully none turn out to be human

Been washing them to remove as much dirt as possible. Alot harder than I imagined, will need to find a proper technique to finish cleaning them. The jaw and the bone on the paper towel are quite large!! On the top right you can see the spine, and next to it are two bones which are identical, aswell as a smaller bone which appears to be the same just quite smaller (younger animal maybe?) Then a whole lot of ribs or something? I REALLY want to figure out the bone which is on the paper towel. It's so interesting.

Wow! That's pretty impressive!

There is a place that I went to in Fossil, Oregon (USA) that you can pay like $10 to dig around for fossils (hence the name of the little town). I found maybe 8 fossils of various plants :)

Thanks!, Nice! I never looked for fossils, but I should keep an eye out for them. Good thing about this place is the part I'm in is free :) There are paid areas like the State Park and scenic drive, but I found this one free area to be a gold mine of bones and cool things.

Yeah, I wouldn't want to pay $10 every day, that place is only for tourist who want some fossils :) That's really neat that you found your own little spot, I know some people who have favorite fishing spots, but not anyone who has a favorite bone finding place ;)

Best of luck!

I'll get it, but first I have to drudge through 17 folders full of pictures...

In fact, I'll post it up tomorrow. I'm too tired now.

Thanks :P I have been going to Red Rock for a year now, but never thought I could find anything so I never looked. Then last week I came across this spot and was shocked. I normally go with my brother(don't want to go to the desert alone!;)) And was finding some bones one after another. It was amazing :D

OK here is the new set of bones I found tonight, all in a matter of 1 hour 30 minutes. The quality of the pic sucks because I have to use my cell phone for now, camera is broke. I would like to place all my bones from this set and my previous picture together but I am in the process of moving and they are already boxed away. Once I move I'll be sure to take a new picture with a real camera of everything in the same spot. :)

Just got home from another trip to Red Rock. Found some more stuff, not as much though due to the sun quickly going down and being very difficult to spot any bones. Will post a pic later, going out to dinner now.

The collection is getting very LARGE!!! :)
