PocketGamer announced the setlist and details.

Putting to rest rumours that Harmonix's award-winning music series was ready to go on an iPhone tour, EA Mobile has officially announced Rock Band for iPhone and iPod touch.

An extension of the popular console franchise, Rock Band features all four instruments - guitar, bass, drums, and vocals - on iPhone controlled using taps of your touchscreen.

Headlining the game's feature set is cooperative multiplayer online and locally via Bluetooth. These jam sessions allow you and three buddies to play songs simultaneously.

Of course, there's a suite of single player modes including one-off Quick Play sets and a full Solo Tour career mode complete with achievements.

The game will come with a core 20 tracks (listed below). You can add to your collection by purchasing additional songs from within the game at an undetermined price.

Rock Band is slated for release later this month on the App Store, price yet to be announced.

ah well, it at least seems like the production value is there(aside from the awkward pre-rendered video rocking out at the top), so it should be good for tap tap fans looking for an upgrade of sorts.

maybe the developers were lazy and looking for that quick cash-in...or maybe the iphone currently isn't capable of playing all four instrument tracks simultaneously without some sort of lag. not sure. but if there's any lag in a rhythm and music game, you might as well not release it.

Yeah, it appears to be a multiplier/star power indicator, and it does seem a little too loud. I agree that the set list basically sucks, and they probably did that on purpose so people will buy the DLC.

Other than that, the game looks good. Depending on the price i'll probably buy it.

what this game has going it is that the base track listis also mostly in TTR3 but may attract players without the need to have to get it allvia DLC.

That 'ding' is the sound representing that you've scored another 'star.' It's the exact same sound as the standard Rock Band game.

In retrospect, it would probably still be worth it compared to full-blown Rock Band games which alone are priced at $50, and again even though this app looks top-notch and well-polished, I still just don't feel comfortable with paying that much for a mobile app...yet this is coming from the guy who spent $10 each on both of the Rolando titles...oh well!

Oh and I think it's crap that there's no singing, it should just be for iPhone and iTouch that have headphones with mics. I mean you would think this would be the easiest feature of all to put on a mobile phone app...it has a freakin mic!!! Use it. There should just be no singing at all then because the thing they put for the singing feature is pretty lame looking.

I think it's reasonable that there is no singing. I personally wouldn't use it much anyways and at least there is something there and they didnt just take it out all together.
I have a feeling there should be some good DLC. That'll be a place I'm sure I'd wanna spend some money on.
And really, I wouldn't be surprised if it isn't priced at the usual 10 dollar premium.
All I know is TTR has never been able to satisfy me completely and I love RockBand when I've played at friends houses but never ended up getting it myself, now this will let me get it and take it with me! My best friend is also planning on getting it and since it has bluetooth multiplayer we can play together anywhere we want. I can't wait for this. Just hope it comes out really soon. Insta-buy for me.

I personally would love if instead of releasing a Beatles RockBand (which i dont even know if they would do in the first place) they just released Beatles songs as DLC. I love The Beatles but I don't like having to have two apps for basically the same thing but just a bit of different content.

I can't wait for this!! I'm always checking the new apps on the front page hoping to see Rockband. I'm not crazy about the tracklist but this is better then tap tap. My problem with tap tap is you're not interacting with the music.

FYI the phone version has 25 songs and cost 10 dollars. so this version would probably cost 8 bucks at the most (i would think)

I think that EA should release Rock Band for 5 bucks, and give us the 10 best songs. That equals 2 songs to a dollar. Then because people really like it, didn't have to pay too much, and want to play the music they like, they go into the Rock Shop (or whatever... :D) and buy the music they want as an in app purchase. Nobody whines about high price or crappy music, and everyone's happy! If only though...

I'd thought the same thing should happen with Rock Band in stores too. You go and buy the disk with... 40 songs for 40 bucks, take it to Gamestop and stick it in a machine, and you get the next 40 songs, (of your choice,) burned onto the disk with them. That way you get music you want, and still come out with 80 songs in the end.

Just my two cents though.
