Hello,

is anyone here playing Mario Kart Wii regularly? I would be interested to know.
I think it's the best fun racer of all time, even if there are a good dozen things I would like to see improved.
What I love most is the online mode, what I hate the most is that Nintendo can't do anything against cheaters.

What are your feelings about Mario Kart?

I don't have it, my friends do, and I love it. When I get it, I'll play it about 1/4 of the amount of time I play Skate 2 (leaving only time to sleep lol)

When it first came out, I spent 3 weeks trying to find it, but it was sold out everywhere. Never really looked for it afterwards.

How does someone "cheat"?

How does someone "cheat"?
I believe there are several ways now (search for Twilight Hack or Bannerbomb) to install a homebrew channel on your Wii or to run software from an SD card. Mostly you need an older version of the Wii operating system.
If you're able to run the homebrew channel, you're also able to modify the data of Mario Kart Wii. There are cheat codes for making your kart or bike faster and giving you infinite items of your choice. That means, cheaters are either able to win every time or to annoy you by attacking you the whole time with dozens of items.

I never hacked my Wii, so I only know this from the internet and from friends. If you ask me, Nintendo can't do anything against cheaters, which is the greatest mistake Nintendo did ever according to Mario Kart.
So, if you think it's annoying that people can snake in Mario Kart DS to be faster, than I don't want to know what you'll say about the cheaterrs. They are completely ruining the online experience. :(

I had a cheater in my friens list for almost nine months, and had a hard time to find out that he was actually cheating. He only used cheats, when he thought nobody sees it. I only found out by making vids and watching the races again. :D

By the way: if anybody loves Mario Kart and is a fair player, maybe we could play online together. Would be fun to have a TouchArcade Mario Kart group here, though it probably would be hard to find a good date as of the time difference. :)

great game, even if I played much more the DS counterpart. I guess I'm a handheld guy, haha.
