Wow.

Just goes to show you that many people who own ipod touchs or iphones are immature.

I seem to be a minority.

My bad for posting this in the wrong area. Thanks to whoever moved it.

I have not bought this app either.

How is buying a cheap .99 cent app for humorous and entertainment purposes being "immature"? get off your high horse. i personally haven't purchased the program but to imply anyone who has bought it as being immature simply shows who the immature one really is.

^ I just have to join in. Calling someone "immature" because they called thousands of people "immature" is also "immature". And now I'm "immature" for calling you "immature" for calling him/her "immature"...
I looked at the video on youtube and I gotta tell ya, it grossed me out. I just don't see the fun in this. The fact that it also offers a "recorder" option makes me wanna vomit...

Despite my thinking that these sorts of apps are worthless and nobody should spend time on them, I can't help but think that the dev of this app has done a good job of cashing in on a hopefully brief app store phenomenon.

But I just hope we can move on from here.

Oh thats too depressing, and I thought iPod Touch/iPhone users had some intelligence, rather than buying into these pathetic gimmicks. Come on, who bought it here and contributed to that thing?

That's pretty damn funny

But not quite as funny as the people who have posted here and left their sense of humor behind ;)

I don't see a point of using that either. Unless you're going to make prank at someone's birthday.

I love having some stupid fun with my friends and this app allowed me to pull some pranks on them during class ;)
Wanna call me immature? No problem there. I like being a little immature/childish sometimes. Makes life a whole lot better than it would be if I took everything so seriously.

I dont quite understand what the appeal of these apps is... and it is justified in calling the people who buy these kinds of apps immature. Really, who would drop money on a program that immitates farting noises? Kids are the first demographic that come to mind (immature by defininition). Adults who still think farting noises are funny are, IMHO, just as immature as the kids.

While I applaud the success of the application, it is disheartening in the sense that it sets an example to all developers not to put any effort into their projects, and instead focus on gimmicks that can be coded in a week or less.

From the business perspective, why would you pay the wages of a 5-10 person team for 3-9 months if the best return of investment comes from apps that are made with the least possible effort (1 guy for ~1 week) as long as they involve this kind of universally appealing content.

The iPhone as handheld console competitor, right? I just came from Best Buy and didn't see a single fart game for the DS, or the PSP.

Personally, I don't get the proflatulence but antihugebouncing breasts stance that Apple has taken up here. Is there some vague subtlety that draws a line between the maturity required to appreciate a wet fart and the idealized female form?

In part, the number of 'silly' apps doing well on the app store is a side effect of the price battle that's forced games down to 99c. With the prices that low and everything being seen as budget and throwaway, apps that would normally only be done as free apps are worth pushing at 99c and they do well.

Yes. You can't go to hell for farting, but you might for looking at boobies.

I kid. I am with you on this one. I don't like the double standard.

Really makes everyone re-think what they are working on. Or a fire to get in-process product to market quickly.. Anytime anyone has an idea.. there are at least 3 others out there doing the same thing.

Remember - although bigger apps are selling. What's the average cost of goods on the iTunes store? .99.

Yeah. I'm becoming a huge supporter of the idea that the Top Apps ranking was based on revenue and not the number of downloads. Then it wouldn't penalize those who are concerned about production values.

Wow... I bet Apple is really proud of their decision of allowing the farting apps into the app store. I don't think it was an excellent idea, but as long as they're making money, it doesn't really matter. :P

Does anyone know how much MotoChaser has earned in total? I'm curious and it seemed it was a fairly popular $1 game for quite some time.

What, you think women are buying the farting apps? I would not pay for a fart app, however, at 41 years of age, farts are still funny to me at times.

I actually think more women would download the boobs than they would a fart app. A lot of women like other women ya know....

Maybe, I'm not a mind reader here. What I'm saying is that iBoobs wouldn't make so much as $100k unless EVERYONE bought it...
