I just got it to work from the mobile app store. Odd that it doesn't seem to work from iTunes...

Earthscape doesn't seem to be working very well for me. It wont load the maps at any resolution higher then the basic one, so everything is just a blurry mess. I'm on a wifi connection too so i don't get what the problem is. I tried a restart as well. Anyone else have this problem?

I had the same problem even on my wifi connection. I read their support page, which suggested rebooting the iPhone. This worked for me, and cleared the images right up. Still a little slow loading though, and honestly, I am less than impressed with the app. It is slightly fun, and has some cool features like photos, wikipedia references, but that's really all it has, and I guess I got bored of it too quickly. Hey, no complaints though the price was right. After trying it for free, I can decisively coclude that I would not have paid $9.99 or even $4.99 for this particular app. That is my personal preference, though, because it is still a very well done app I suppose.

It started working correctly on the 2nd restart. Strange.

It did end up not being as cool as i thought it would be, so i'm glad i was able to try it for free. The fact that you can't manually look up a location seems like a major flaw, and the 3D view is kind of unimpressive unless your looking at an extremely mountainous area.

Its a powerful app, I use it for school to view all the teachers lectures, pdf's and powerpoints

and as for Earthscape, I only used it that one time, it loaded okay, googlemaps loads a lot faster and does almost the same thing...still its not bad for being free right now

I love sketches, when i am trying to explain an idea to someone, i use to write it on a napkin or piece of paper, now i just whip out the ipod touch, boot up sketches, and wholla

For anyone using an iPod Touch in Canada (well, in Toronto for sure, but I think this is going on across the country): Chapters/Indigo (fyi: a large Canadian book store) is selling off all previous-generation iPod accessories at great discounts (like 75% off!).

However, among the "accessories" are iPod AppleCare Protection Plans (viz., extended warranties). Normally they sell for about $70, but they are marked down to 75% off. I checked with Apple, and have actually purchased one and successfully registered it with my Touch, and it works fine. A second year of coverage for about $18! Just remember that you can only register your device if it's less than one year old; after that you're SOL.

I think this just came up today (at least it's new for BiiBall 3D). Says "for a limited time", so not sure when it ends. Some of the titles are really good (e.g., BlocksTouch 3D) and are a no-brainer at one buck!
