Check out Between the Buried and Me. It's metal but it's nothing like anything I've ever heard before, and I've heard alot. It's just amazing. Their new album, The Great Misdirect, that came out yesterday is over an hour long and has only 6 songs, but each song sounds like more than one song. It's something really cool and different, and insanely hard to describe.

Otherwise there's always my favorite band Underoath, along with Killswitch Engage, Avenged Sevnefold, and August Burns Red. You really can't go wrong with any of those bands. I've also been listening to alot of Dethklok lately, along with watching Metalocalypse. Really cool stuff.

Dude... all of those bands are insane. Havn't heard much from fall of troy but the rest are just sick. Also glad someone mentioned that the earlier a7x is much better. IN fact, Waking the Fallen is one of the greatest albums ever imo.

I've heard of some of the bands you posted, but don't be such a music snob. We all have different tastes.

Yours aren't any better than anybody elses.

Public Enemy. If you like Rage Against the Machine, I don't know how you wouldn't like Public Enemy, it's basically the same angry political rap, though I'm inclined to believe that Public Enemy has a sharper and definitely more present sense of humor. Also maybe something like Run-DMC.

Stevie Ray Vaughn. Depending on which Led Zeppelin you like, the early stuff or the later stuff (particularly the early stuff), Stevie Ray Vaughn may be up your alley . Very guitar heavy blues rock, I think he's one of the best guitarists that ever was.

Neil Young. Very wide range of styles for Neil Young, but he may satisfy the Led Zeppelin part with some of his stuff. It's mostly spread throughout his albums during the 70s, but something like Rust Never Sleeps or Everybody Knows This is Nowhere. Be warned though! While some of his songs are absolutely bad ass rock songs ("Hey Hey, My My"/"My My Hey Hey", "Cowgirl in the Sand", "Rockin' in the Free World"), he also delves pretty heavily into country and folk. I like it, but you may not. Give some of his rock songs a chance though, and he may grow on you.

Maybe something like the more "experimental" David Bowie, something like Outside or one of the Berlin Trilogy albums: Low, or "Heroes" especially. For me, pretty much anything by him from Diamond Dogs to Scary Monsters is great, but those three above may be a little more approachable (at least what I think is approachable based on what you said). Outside is Bowie basically cashing in on the 90s Industrial and techno-rock "phase" (up for debate), and the Low and "Heroes are somewhat experimental in that they are split in half with "regular" songs on the first half, and some moody and atmospheric instrumentals on the second half (I think they sound like they'd fit right in on the Tron soundtrack).

And Godspeed You! Black Emperor (or wherever they stick the punctuation). I've only met one person who didn't like Godspeed! And he doesn't like anything.
