Upgrades that would cost me 640 before now cost 840, and the final upgrade on infiltrator for shield, power up and targeting is 900 each!!! 900!

Hah, just played antonpup, and yeah, he´s taunting like hell. Dunno if its a hack though, nor do i care much.
Remember, Eliminate is based on an well known engine, so there might be some exploits around. In Fact, it was just a matter of time anyway until someone abuses the game.

This is the downside of not coding your engine yourself, and obviously not knowing about the different hacks in Q3.

He is definitly cheating. On iPhone currently do can't attatch any pictures but I played a match against him and just went into the menu to watch the credits go up. He finished with around 220 credits. It seems what ever hack he is using is grabbing every possible credit (9) from tauting in less than a second. Seems it auto taunts extemely quickly just from running over the body.

Will post the screen shots when I get to my computer again. That is if he is not banned by then.

Like there isn't already enough evidence against this fellow, that takes the cake though. Now we see if Ngmoco decides to bring the hammer down, or if they let the hacking\glitching slide.

I agree with tblrsa. If there is a exploit, people will use it to cheat. Makers of the game cannot say, "hey there's a exploit in the game but we want nobody to use it." They should be able to prevent people from using them.

Yes, at least they should have done the most basic steps to prevent it (A File Check in this Case). If i leave my house unlocked, and get robbed, i will have a hard time gettin back any money from the insurance aswell. It´s not like the hack seems to be anything special, as far as i have read, it´s just changing a Binding Option in the .cfg File. ngmoco should have blocked that from the beginning.

Cheaters are expected but what's truly sad is how a lot of you guys justify it. It happens way too often. Saying "I don't care" or "It doesn't affect me" is extremely short sighted.

When the other end, i.e., producers, distributors take the extreme opposing position because of this attitude (music/movie industry for example) and this state of affairs which completely sucks can be blamed on both parties.

That's when the honest ones pay the price. This is only a game but it's enjoyable. In the future, it may not be so enjoyable because you'll have people involved who have no business dealing their thoughts on the actual product.

It's not a big deal now but if this type of attitude spreads far enough, the consequences will come in equal measure and you'll start wondering how we got there.

I'm not sure you can cheat at eliminate. Maybe you're thinking of a couple matches where i got 120 points, right at the end of my PC phase. To do that I camped out at people's bodies and continually taunted for like 6-8 seconds. Can't do that anymore their bodies are dust lol!

I don´t differ between the real world and the game. There is only one world, this is the one in which we live in. Cheating is not illegal by law, but of course the developer can and should enforce a ban if someone is caught cheating.

I am well aware that you get kicked out of school if you get caught cheating in America, this isn´t the case in Europe though. Pretty harsh if you ask me. Again, don´t get me wrong, i know that cheating is ruining the game experience for everybody else, and i´m for sure not a cheater. But ya know the old saying: The Occasion makes the Thieves, so ngmoco needs to prevent cheating in the future.

The point is that apparently it wasnt extremely hard to cheat in Eliminate until ngmoco fixed their Servers. So all i said was that the company should have been aware of those Quake 3 Config Codes, and blocked it from the beginning instead of letting us pay to play with cheaters.

I've been dropping others with AR twice my lvl. In the lower levels it is extremely effective with the right aim. I've noticed lately that in later levels it still does okay because I've been on the receiving end and my health dropped fairly quick.

Another thing to consider is that the server hosting the game seems to be constantly tweaked. Everything is in flux and it's annoying.

Only reason you are doing this is because we players have to buy more power cells, which is understandable but makes people mad.

And whoever happens to be floating over it at the time gets to run around and bash everyone. Its ridiculous, its not fun for anyone but the camper, and it creates a really boring game. I definitely will not purchase any credits unless its taken out, or at least take out the shield bash... I'm sick of running. Credits aren't worth it if i know 2 out of 3 games on my recharge that somebodies gonna camp that shield.

I agree about changing the cost of item upgrades, I think it's a little late in the game for that. Basically all the higher level people who've been playing this game non stop since it came out has all the upgrades they need, while the more casual players have a harder road to climb to get to where the hardcore are at. It seems like it will create an even bigger gap between lower level and higher level players. I've sorta stopped playing this game the last couple days cause it's starting to take so freaking long to upgrade everything. I'm not even sure if I feel like coming back to this game at this point, and I have like 70 something power cells I haven't even used yet. Just seems like an odd move when the vocal majority would rather see some more balancing between weapons and powerups instead of making all the good upgrades harder to get. :/

I got a couple accounts I'm leveling up and I'm still using standard armor. I really want to upgrade my armor but I also don't want to risk using the credits and then regret it when the new armors come out :(

Anyways, anyone have any good experience with the infantry armor? It's -speed but not too much (I think I might have played with some people who had infantry), is it dramatically slower that you can't strafe? (cause that would just be....suicide)

I'm also thinking about the sentry armor, but...that armor really just have two sorta useless traits, +clo and +ts. The former doesn't really help with experienced players, and the latter was reported to have next to no effect. Does it have slightly higher def than the standard? (do all armors?)

Actually the only problem I see with the shield is the tank map. All other maps you have many ways of attacking a shield camper and taking him/her down. Actually it's always positioned so that you are exposed to attacks from all sorts of directions and by camping you have disclosed your location which gives attackers and snipers a huge advantage. One has to change the strategy in order to win but I don't see any problems with the shield right now.

By making it pop up on random locations it can suck too... imagine gunning down somebody who's nearly done and being beat by him/her surprisingly. This would suck even more to me.

Yes, it absolutely does. I had one upgrade left on my PC and one on my Infiltrator armor, and they both increased significantly in cost for the final upgrade.

Reinhart, targeting makes a huge difference in damage. I played someone with standard that switched to sniper armor, and he managed to kill me a few times because of the damage buff.

Cloaking is very effective while standing still too.

I wish it made an effect on your gun to know you were cloaked.

I don't think so. I have the sniper fully maxed on ts. Just recently I purchased infiltrator and that has about 2 bars and the difference is not detectable.

I don't understand that either! It's like selling credits for a higher price...basically it's credit inflation... you pay the same money for energy get the same amount of credits but you are not able to buy the same amount of upgrades which is makes energy more expensive.

Now not even 2500 players seem to be only which is half of what it used to be 1 week ago... I don't want to see people leave...Energy should be made WAY cheaper...instead there should be more gear to buy and spend credits on.

With 1.1 coming out, they could have just made some amazing armor, and weapons, that cost way more credits, rather than jacking up the prices on the current weaponry and armor.

Prototype is probably where you can buy a vaporizer for 50 credits, but can only use it like 10 times. Like a trial so people don't complain they spent 600 on a gun they can't even aim. But with the way this games going, the prototype will cost more then the gun itself ;)

All the updates you do don't have to focus on just making money, if you focus more on the customers the money will come.

I shouldve posted this sooner. Anyway. Allen, I realize that you guys have attempted to fix the berserker shield already and although playable, the game is still very berserker shield oriented. A better suggestion as many in this forum have said already would be to just remove the invincible shield or the berserking abilty. All you really need the berserker shield is for one or two people anyway and you usually pick up their health pack which cancels out the berserk shield. I realize you guys are a small team and we're all happy for you guys to be a success. However you have to realize that the more popular a game is the more support the gamers are going to want for it. Rather than raising prices a better move would've been to be able to upgrade 1 or 2 things per level. The way you guys went about this only benefits those in the higher levels while the lower levels suffer. More credits means more energy, which means more money if we want to get them at a reasonable time. That is why it makes you appear money-hungry even if it wasn't your intention. You guys are still providing support for us and listening to our complaints and our feedback. Just remember that our suggestions (not all) are to make your game as enjoyable to us and other gamers. I know you can't listen to everything we say but certain things do make sense even if its hard to implement.

There WILL be a new map, Cube. It's pretty sweet and I would describe it as Bedlam meets Onrail. It will also have the berserker shield in a not so user-friendly area (hint, gravity hook and airborne fans).

Prototype weapons and armor will be exactly as described. They will be armor and weapon items that have a pre-configured set of upgrades. Not sure what anti-matter jet's going to be like with fully upgraded fire-rate? test drive it first with a prototype. Same for armor.

Skin mods will give you even more reason to buy skins (if for some reason, looking incredibly slick wasn't reason enough). They will be uniquely stylized so your armor will look different, and also give a *percentage* boost to a single stat. For example, the jump mod skin will look particularly bouncy, and boost your jump skill by X percentage regardless of your armor's upgrade level.

Say on the website you could choose the armor to display it in the rotate mode and then click on a skin to put it on and be able to see what it would look like before you get it.

Ok, so not much details right now besides the newsletter. You know how we like to tease the poo out of every bit of info we give.

There WILL be a new map, Cube. It's pretty sweet and I would describe it as Bedlam meets Onrail. It will also have the berserker shield in a not so user-friendly area (hint, gravity hook and airborne fans).

Prototype weapons and armor will be exactly as described. They will be armor and weapon items that have a pre-configured set of upgrades. Not sure what anti-matter jet's going to be like with fully upgraded fire-rate? test drive it first with a prototype. Same for armor.

Skin mods will give you even more reason to buy skins (if for some reason, looking incredibly slick wasn't reason enough). They will be uniquely stylized so your armor will look different, and also give a *percentage* boost to a single stat. For example, the jump mod skin will look particularly bouncy, and boost your jump skill by X percentage regardless of your armor's upgrade level.
