Vap is always good! But it requires the most skill of all weapons... you need to be really precise and no chance of spamming...but nobody can tell as their effectivness is still tweaked.

Yep! I think 10000 is the technical limit though... if you're there and won against players with skill of 9999 10-0-0-0 you will get nothing for winning anymore.

I think Terrorist can only improve when winning against 2nd and 3rd ranked players all other you will only get 2 pts or so.

Was anyone complaining about the Vaporizer being too powerful? They made it weaker, while making the rocket stronger, and now everyone's using the rocket. It's like when everyone was complaining about the PC being too strong, so they made the AR weaker. Just doesn't make sense to me. :rolleyes:

Thanks for not nerfing the vap. I dominate on the vap now, don't mean to brag but people must think I was cheating because I would kill them so quickly and swoop in take in their health recharge so I kept healing. It was awesome, I also saw this hilarious battle where 2 rocket nubs where blasting each other and killed each other simultaneously so I swooped in and took all the credits :D

EDIT: Ugh, I just fought this lvl 33 rokcet launcher dude (I'm 19) and he kept blasting rockets and shield bashing me. Ultimate nub I have seen.

Slightly melodramatic, I think. It can't really snipe now as the shot scatter has been widened. You need a damage amplifier to make a real difference from distance now.

Everyone is back to raving about the vaporizer so I'm guessing that's what I'll need if I ever get to a high level.

I don't think it is right for the non-cheaters to be capped because of cheaters.

I regularly taunt more than 20 credits per game, and would like to continue to do so. It is definitely not easy, but if you are able to get kills and taunt without dying, you should get rewarded for it.

Please put it back the way it was, and find a way to deal with the hackers directly, rather than punishing everyone else.

But from ngmoco's perspective maybe we have been earning too many credits (which I disagree with of course). What I don't think ngmoco realizes is that on top of allowing everyone to earn more credits, taunting for a lot of credits really does add something to the game that is now gone.

Once you're skill level 7000 and above you will get 70 credits max for being first... because other players are too good and no time to taunt!

I'd just like to say that ngmoco has really made it harder for the lower level people to win or rank up now. Increased prices (Unless they changed it in 1.1) for upgrades, reduced taunting credits, and the messed up matchmaking. yesterday I lost to a 44 by 3 and my skill went down over a hundred points. He was double my level BTW.
so Ngmoco can you please put more weight on levels in matchmaking? I dont care if I get matched up with 40s, I can still win, but when I do lose I dont want to drop skill like crazy.

I think 150 is still a lot. In our games we don't get more than 80 in total since we all play with vap.

If you're constantly taunting bodies, you can reach that amount. Terrorist has gotten loads of credits before, without hacking. I think he got over 140 once.

That's not even the real reason. The reason is so you can limit the number of credits earned, forcing players to buy your energy packs.

If that is in fact true, I agree that the cap should be increased (somewhere between 40-80). That would still allow those that taunt legitimately to not be punished, but would keep the cheaters from getting ridiculous amounts of credits.

True...since what most people use is the vap and infiltrator... you can have both fully upgraded before reaching lvl 50... even if you have more weapons upgraded they don't count as they are sitting in your inventory...

Exactly, the higher ranks (51-100) are really just for show at this point. I suppose it gives you access to higher level prototypes, but other than that, there is not much incentive to keep advancing after level 50.

Yeah! But it's also the only weapon you really have to have control over. Only precise shots count... you can't spam with it because of the quick pluses now. So it kinda balances that out...

True, and that makes the Vaporizer mandatory if you want any chance of winning because you will face other vap users. Next thing you know, we'll have a reflective mod to deflect some of the beam. Maybe tinfoil hat for head protection? :) I'd be cool with something like that.

lol i concur.. it's super lame when you pop into a battle, it's really the only time i lose serious amounts of skill points anymore. eventually i'll be high enough level that i'll feel that it was worth it to attempt the match, but even now the 2 shot in less than a second insta kill is a bit much.

HELLO! You should ban the cheaters! If you can track credits earned then anyone that gets over 200 credits for a couple of matches temporary ban them, it it keeps happening the permanently ban then, as well as there UDID so they can't create new/more accounts!

Also Knox is my favorite map: no shield power-ups and the big room gives a decent advantage to the incinerator

Sorry to hear that! MC:S update will be out like March/April 2010...gameloft is that fast. I would suggest you keeping your character and play using free cells...it might make some fun from time to time... I'm feeling like having played tooooooooooooooooooooo much though. It's very repetitive now... It all about connection and location... the closer you are located to Canada the more you will have a chance at becoming good at it... I'm currently #4 on global skill and I don't think it's possible for me to go up any further since I LAAAAAAGGGG SO MUCH!!!! GAME IS JUST SLOW IN GERMANY! ALL MY FRIENDS STOPPED PLAYING IT! and it really sucks that nobody from ngmoco addresses this issue. I feel left alone here in Europe! It's not fair as we don't have the same experience but pay the same price for cells!

I think they have servers "all over the world" but I seem to lag most of the time...had to reset my router like 100 times today still slower than most players... makes it hard to aim since I'm constantly shooting at nothing as the in reality my opponent already moved to a different location 1 sec ago

From my understanding, you can't have multiple server locations without diluting the player base. If there was a server near you, you'd have to have a large population in your area to play against. You can't just throw more servers to solve it as it stands now. Not with how the Quake 3 networking layer probably works. It's old.

If the game did get a lot more popular, the match making could possibly be made based on ping times for a cell of users too since it will more likely find a good match.

Vaporizer seems pretty good now. Been playing games with it and winning a good amount of them. PC seems to do lower damage. Maybe b/c i would use it mid-range which isnt ideal anymore.

I would like to see faster change between weapons....think halo.

Thanks! I'm doing my best. It's not that I can't play but most of the time the movements are not fluid...it's even worse after speed increases. It very frustrating trying to figure out where to aim since I need to predict where the player should be depending on where he went before... playing against terrorist is impossible to know cause he could be anywhere 0,2 sec after shooting at him. His ping is better than mine FAR BETTER... How I know? If I ever see him I'm usually dead already... so he has an advantage because of his ping and can land 2-3 shots before I get to see him.

I've been reconnecting like a hundred times today... sometimes I get a good connection so I play... most of the time I need to restart my router relaunch the app and hope for better connection. It works sometimes so it's really on their side.

The OS shouldn't matter. It's definitely runs the best on the 3GS or 3 and 2gen touch.

I'm on a 3GS and it is still a bit slow especially when facing someone with a rocket launcher. Will there be an increase in performance in 1.2. I would love to get more frames per second. It's not slow but sometimes it is laggy and being shot at by two rocket launcher is VERY irresponsive. Are you working on that?

Hell Yes. Thats it. The Game right now is PERFECTO. The game tempo is medium and all of a sudden all my problems have disappeared. NO LAGGING NOW. If the game is too fast the connection is not fast enough to keep track of the location of the bot. So please keep it as it is forever and don't touch any settings. Please I'm begging you. MJ you gotta keep them from tweaking it for fun. Please :)

Please keep it at that level now on medium. I would also like to know why you're changing it that often. It's a connection killer and it's the reason the rest of the world will have a disadvantage if it's kept up high. That's also the reason it has only 2 star ratings in Germany. People tend to give up too fast because if the performance problems.

MJ, I'm tempted to buy the infantry prototype. It says it has everything on lvl 12 and shielding on 15. If you max out the regular infantry armor will it only go up to lvl 10? So the prototype is stronger than the regular infantry right?

I have a question for all you top players on the Leaderboards...What setup do you use? I currently have Infiltrator and Shotgun (Proper name fails to come to me at the moment), both fully upgraded. However, now that they basically nerfed Infiltrator, I'm looking at Assault. I'm already almost done with my fully upgraded Vap, because it seems to be the best weapon so far!

Assault here as well. I switched form Infiltrator. The Assualt has good defense and is not as slow as a Tank, so you can soak up those damn rockets while moving at a bearable pace.

Do you prefer assault over infiltrator? Are you glad you switched? Is the speed for assault acceptable after switching from infiltrator? Approximately how many credits did it take to fully upgrade assault?

Sorry for all the questions, but it would be very helpful in my consideration of switching.
