Yeah I made the switch over a couple days ago and use the vap now... I would love to play heads up though!!! If we are the same skill level and same rank the weapons should show which one is better... I use the vapo and the rifle as my back up... I am debating on upgrading my rifle to max it out. I have the ability now, just going to cost a lot of my hard earned credits, I think I am going to save up to upgrade the vapo then when I have that maxed out save up for the rifle. I think the vapo itself is the only weapon that can defeat other great players that use the vapo as well... I like using my rifle against any other type of weapon, but it doesn't stand a chance against a vapo heads up... The rifle is sick, especially if you use the sprinter add on (which I always have) I love that thing, I think it when using the Sprinter it makes the Assault armor the best armor out of all of them!

I really laugh hard when people say that this game sucks and hate on the developers... I mean really, the game revolutionized the way FPS are now coming to the Iphone. I understand that if you can't win then the game would lose some replay value. I am also wondering... all the people that say this game sucks, they can't be of really high rank, they have to be low ranked and losing a lot. I mean, if I played a game that I never won I would hate it too. I am a die hard Halo fan and I think Eliminate is the closest match available on any hand held platform. The online multiplayer alone is the single most important thing to me... I don't like playing games that aren't online multiplayer. I am a huge red alert fan. Or command and conquer fan at that. I have almost all of there games and I love them all!!!! I love them so much because I can play against anyone in the world. My point to all this is I was waiting for Red Alert to release on the Iphone and I think the game is great... I just never play it because I hate playing the computer. I probably haven't played that game on my iphone in a couple weeks... I would play it everyday like eliminate (and hopefully Nova if the multiplayer is at all close to Eliminate) if it had online multiplayer. I think EA should have released the game with online multiplayer and it really sucks that they didn't because all the excitement has passed and it wont nearly be as popular as it would have been if it was released with online multiplayer.

Agree. I don't mind being beaten (which is just as well, really) but it does feel like the odd player is on a second account.
You'll need a lot of power cells to last you through the snooker, especially since the Rocket is out...

You must have some sort of script running. What is happening is not fckin possible. 4 games in a row we enter a fresh math together and you log out instantly once the game starts. Yet when you join a game that's in progress, your connection seems to be fine. It's the perfect way to protect ur skill right? I just want to know HOW are you quitting instantly when new games start? Is this why you refuse to do private matches? Because your script would log yon out at the start of any new match?

You must have some sort of script running. What is happening is not fckin possible. 4 games in a row we enter a fresh math together and you log out instantly once the game starts. Script? This is just a game ok... :) I still don't understand what you are talking about though...why is it profitable for me? I don't get to join a match and have to restart. That means most of the time I have to restart the app 2-3 times... in 30 minutes I get to play less matches than you, because of the constant reconnections. I don't get any credits from this. Why should I care about the Skill? What does it buy me? You will still come and beat me when I meet you globally ( that doesn't happen too often though, because you are constantly trying to get people to play with you in Friend matches ). Two days ago I didn't even know you don't lose skill in friend matches, that's why I never played them. Why? Because it makes no sense to play against one player if you can play against 3...it way more fun for the limited energy I have.

I've been on the phone with my ISP last two days because of the lags and reconnects. One technician there who also plays online fps told me the problem might be that there is a server in between the us servers and europe that causes this problem. I have already noticed I'm having the most troubles when I play against you. You must have some sort of "special" connection. Last time we played I got disconnected during the game and lost cells, which sucks. You get like 60 and I get 20 which sucks...that's why I don't like playing friend matches just against you.
During the morning hours here in Europe everything runs smooth most of the time for me, because most Americans are still in bed. Once you come online the problems begin. That's why I've stopped playing online during your typical hours because everybody is online and I get thrown out a lot.

Now I've started playing MC:S multiplayer and look what I get... when I join a game I see 3 players standing in the middle of the field and then I get an error and get thrown out...connection error... sometimes I get to join and play team deathmatch normally... this is obviously the same error in a different game.

I don't know why you still think that I get something out of this. I've already explained this to you via pm a couple days ago.

Next time please take screenshots and show me what you see on your end. Because I don't even get to see the game when this happens.

Yes the map loads, I run around for abot 3 seconds then I see "expandin left the game" and am taken to the summary screen where I see 0 kills and 39 credits.

Nice :) That never happens to me... All I get is the battle about to begin screen and then I'm thrown back to the main screen and get logged off... If I quit the game then and restart it crashes... So I have to let the app crash and restart the game all over and retry. So you are either faster than me inside the game or the system needs some time to register that I'm not inside the game. I don't get any credits though, so actually I would love to switch sides you want :)

I'm currently thinking it's my ISPs problem... I will check how everything works on the University connection if it's more smooth and if it won't give that error, I will terminate my contract next month.

I've played 4 games against her and then she logged off and Terrorist was back in because I was thrown out again... Their style is the same. I was joking :) the whole balancing thing is made in order to get people to try out all sort of different armors... everybody had the infiltrator... they nerfed it... everybody will get assault they will nerf it too... and the game will constantly introduce new armors or tweaks them until everybody has upgraded every single one to the max...then new one will be introduced... if you want to do REALLY good you need prototypes the will cost plenty of credits and are supposed to do that but will offer a premium experience. The standard one should not be upgarded I think. The prototypes are only affected by your rank. Say if ur rank 69 you get level 12 upgrades...that's like 2 more than the regular ones and one feature is level 15... and so on... so for higher ranks the prototypes are by far the best armours... but if you are on rank 70 or so you will probably have at least 2 fully upgraded armors, so it's a way to get people to spend their piled up credits. This way this game will never grow old.

That happens to me too most of the time... I'm not losing skill when I get that connection error before the game starts... In game you lose skill...that sux but there currently no other way for them to track people who ragequit. Right now I mostly only get problems when joining the games once in game I don't have any problems. But happens like 1-2 times a day. It's your ISP's problem I guess, I'm considering changing mine. Never had this connection problem over 3G....but I don't have the unlimited plan :(

I didn't delete just you... I did delete all my 200 "friends" because the app kept crashing like crazy on start up. I have the feeling that all my followers and friends slow up the game even when I play against bots... it just doesn't feel snappy anymore... after having deleted like 200 friends it feels better. Also I HATE it when people constantly send me invites (LIKE YOU DO!!!!) 200 times in a second ( You must have a script for that :))... it's annoying. I try to play a global match all...wait like 30 sec. to get into a game...hopefully the system finds someone...then all of a sudden an invitation...matching process cancelled and I get a black screen nothing responds anymore... I have to kill the app then and restart. It takes like 3 minutes for me to get into a new game. I'm not into playing friend matches because I will lose against like 10-2... because you are better than me and also because you're using an aimbot :) Or at least you see me before I see you so it's still not fair most of the time... so we play like 10-2 that's cool you get 67 credits and I get 22. Skill level doesn't change, which also sucks. I don't want to waste my energy on friend matches where I know I will make less than 30 credits. We can play in global matches and have others players there playing with us...it's more fun for me.

I will only be adding people as friends I know I will play against and 199 of the people in my lists never played a single game with me.

Now I feel free again knowing my game won't be disturbed like every 20 minutes and I don't get those xxxx signed on messages in game wich take away 30% of the space.

I currently have the assult armor and i am using it with 7.8 sprinter. should i upgrade to say, sentry? what is the best armor right now and what is going to be the best future armor?

my skill level used to be about 3500 now its around 5000 and going up thx to sprinter. so based on that since i suck which is the best armor but isnt standard. (i cant have standard because im using sprinter 7.8. and i dont want tank its too heavy and slow)

Whoa, does anyone know who OneHundred is? The dude is level 30/31 sporting a skill rating of 8100+!! I wish I would have gotten a screen shot of the match, but he managed to get a few kills in a game with YellowSn and I.

He's using an AR and what appears to be a suped-up standard armor. He's surely the lowest level toon with > 8000 skill! Very, very nice!

Yeah, happens to me all the time when you're not online :) Which is nice... that's the ONLY reason to be in the higher skill ranks... Just got a message from the support team my email was redirected to the proper team to take care of that. I wish they can fix my problem today. I get like 15 matches in progress for every 12 cells. So yeah it makes more sense to play globally :)

My biggest feature request for 1.2 is, a button to fix my problem:)

I agree! They should make it so u can't shield bash. If there weren't shield bashes the game might be a little more different.

Yeah. It got better I think but still far from optimal. It's very hard to predict where the opponents are moving to because of the lags. You are also right it gets FAR worse with rocket launchers in game... if you have 2 people firing rockets at you then you know you can quit the game and leave for today.

Our serves are in Amsterdam... I think either those are not fast enough or their connection is just not optimal for gaming. I'm assuming the US data center is just more capable.

You are right! I'm shield camping sometimes too... but I'm doing it because I get bored of the whole lags I'm experiencing. It's just not fair if you have a messed up connection. They have servers in Amsterdam now? That's still pretty far away from Barcelona... At least it's more or less closer to you. I'm going to Finland this weekend for Christmas. Hopefully with their faster internet speeds and maybe less people playing the game there, it might be a bit smoother for me than now. We'll see...

I found a bug in that if you have the exact same amount of credits as needed for an upgrade that you have available to you, the upgrade '+' sign will be in red and you can't upgrade. Somebody at Ngmoco needs to change a ">" into a ">="!

What is the deal with the 30% rate hike on weapon/armor upgrades ngmoco!?! The final upgrade on my armor went from a horrifying 900 credits to an abysmal 1,175! And the vap from 1,280 or so to almost 1,700! Argh, it's like taking an AR shell in the gut! Man, I wish they would give out a warning before they juice the prices.

I was finding it tough enough to keep just one weapon upgraded and one set of armor. Did the number of credits to rank up increase as well?

that map is the most sux map i played with a person using ROcket launcher and camping out for a shield!! im only lvl 18 with 4k skill but now only 2800 skill with that map my skill was down!! and even in knox map! i like that map but with all my enemy using Rocket Launcher i was doom eheheh

Joined normally no joining in progress though :(... But I think the major thing is the tip you gave me... It got cleared and now everything is as it was. I'm lagging only slightly now it seems but still feel like I'm a bit late with my connection. I'm currently thinking about the getting my skill level lowered in order to not get the same error again. It's just no fun that way... we seriously need a button for that. :) Thanks for helping me!

No problem. 30 more points to perfection. Takes like 4 games for 1 pt now. If u really are planning on lowering ur skill do it with me in the match so maybe I can get 5 or 6 points. It would save me 20 matches.

Friends, so you all know. I will take some time off from Eliminate. I need a vacation :) I will be playing only a few games daily now, since I've spent way too much time gaming lately. Need to focus on the more important things in life. So I will be playing like 4-5 matches max per day only.
The game is getting too expensive for me since I count in the opportunity costs. Playing an average of 3 hours per day and assuming a 50€/hour opportunity cost, I'm losing like 150€ per day. That's a crazy 4500€ per month, which is 6584 US$. Time I could have spend elsewhere more wisely...

Also I will try to lower my skill, so anybody wanting the #2 global skill rank, it's yours! Terrorist is at 9966 and will stay at his golden ceiling. I don't think anyone can take him down right now. So #2 is should be everyones #1 now :)

NO :) Just plain logic, because it sucks for most not being able to ever get there if they joing now... new people get frustrated and leave. It doesn't matter how good somebody is, if he enters now he will have a hard time to upgrade (costly), less joining in progress because there are so many low levels etc. It takes like double the time to get to the top now as it did when we started. Fatal flaw in ur logic: all Matchmaking is based on skill. And upgrading gear has no relevance at all to leaderboards. Nothin you said makes sense. Maybe ur the one who needs some sleep.

No, your right the skill board will remain as it is, but they should also introduce new leaderboards where new players have a chance... I don't see how to motivate newcomers... they have a much harder time now and get less for their money. When I tell my friends I'm level 72 and they ask how long to get there and I say about a month, or now even more. They simply have no motivation to start playing. How many hours of sleep did you get?

And upgrading is like 1:1 with skill...never seen a level 24 in the top 10. It's like a function of your rank... so Skill level f(x,z), x is rank level, z is true skill So: f(x,z)=0.8x+0.2z, if you can't get x fast enough it suxxx

If I'm playing on my noob account I get to realize how slow the standard gear is and the auto-rifle is just not strong enough.
Once NOVA is out and assuming the multiplayer really works... 95% of the users who have not been able to get some good gear in Eliminate and feel like having a disadvantage and switch over to NOVA where you get the game for the price of 3 days worth of cells in Eliminate.
I LOVE Eliminate and I don't think the multiplayer mode will be anywhere close to what ngmoco has accomplished, but I see the energy-system collapse because most PRO players stopped buying cells right now, and new ones might just consider switching to a game they value for costing only a fixed price.

Eliminate also disappeared from the TOP rankings in the App Store because of the bad ratings, while most Gameloft titles even make it to stay ini the TOP rankings for a LONG time... like Hero of Sparta is still there after 1 year or so.

All in all I see lot's of changes coming to Eliminate. I'm not complaining but I think things will be changing VERY fast once NOVA is out.

I think that the damage can be repaired but can they fix it fast enough. It is realy a race right now to see if ng can fix all their problems before GL gets their act together. GL though is doing a horrible job right now so NG better move fast while it can.

No, actually, they made it worse! They put 2 shield powerups in Tank. One in the pool in room 73 and one in the middle of the underground tunnel. That is just ridiculous in a level that tight and small. Please ngmoco, do away with that one!

I think they should just remove them. If they don't everybody is free to use them. It's cool with me! Good players need to know how to avoid getting bashed, actually it's not that difficult... when I play there is always someone who uses it. Even if I don't somebody else will. Even if you just take it and don't bash people with it, you still have a major advantage of being invincible for that time. Nobody will ever know if they should run away and hide or if they can trust you not bashing them. 99.9999% will just run since you are invincible during the power up time and you will go after them firing beams... so it's never fair to use a shield and it never makes sense to leave it alone since someone will use it...

So my conclusion is everybody is free to use it... If I know people tend to do that like 2 times on me I change my strategy, hide and wait for them to jump into water in order to wait for the next or just take it away from them and now you changed the roles and you can shield camp a couple times back.

Yeah usually on 1vs1 there's no time for shields... :) you guys are just too good in running away so it makes little sense to wait for it. I also hate getting bashed but until they remove it for good, it's free for everybody to use. Actually sometimes it can even help, because you can run away and get the health power ups and reload your health until the shield runs out, turn around and have an advantage then. What I also love to do is run behind the person using the shield, those persons never look back.. once the shield runs out you will have the advantage of hitting him from behind and landing 2 shots before he can turn around... So there's a solution for everything but most people just feel annoyed because get bashed in moments where they just don't expect it.

Gameloft's N.O.V.A. is the best first-person shooter for the iPhone, not only offering Halo-like thrills on a platform that wasn't necessarily made to host them but also setting the bar for all future iPhone shooters. It looks like a zillion bucks, too, especially on an iPhone 3G S.

I only grab the shield because if I don't, other people will and then bash me. In bedlam I hang around that area because everyone goes there to try to grab the shield. I do it so I can just vaporize them. Otherwise I'm just running around like crazy trying to find people, since they tend to hide and then just run quickly for the shield. I never use the shield when I play on 1vs1 with a few people here, like expandin, terrorist, bat, etc.

And for the record, I hate the shield. I hope ngmoco gets rid of it. I hate getting bashed by it.

I can't help but think there might be an Eliminate2 without energy and all...based on the same system with more maps to buy in packs. I'm sure it won't be just Eliminate Pro... but you are right the best one's are the one's with the most credits and best prototype armors...that's the way it is!

I went for it because I know you always go for the shield. I protect the shield so no one else gets it. I usually don't bash with it, unless people start to bash me or I'm playing against someone that bashes (95% of the people).

If you want, Hiko, we can have an agreement to not grab the shield whenever we play a 1 on 1.

Yep, I think so too. I get killed even more quickly by people 10-15 levels above me who spray rockets around now... I really hope they implement a refund system so we can change equipment when these tweaks happen (WITHOUT penalty otherwise it will make the level differences worse).

Not sure who u are bramsey, but don't call someone an idiot when your Neanderthal, not able to read ass, didn't read my post. I'm complaining about 3! Shields in tank no 2. I've played since before the update and obviously known about 2 shields. I'm pretty sure my post read something like this " I've been told that there may be a glitch where the old map for tank and the new map combine and there are 3!!!!!!!!! Shields"

Hey hiko didn't know u posted on here. Yeah that's pretty much what I'm getting at. If your a "top" player, u know who the other "top" players are. If ur in a 1v1 don't use a shield. You all know me, I mean expandi, tc107 woot!(never have to worry bout these guys, there actually good) booyaka, and the one who will remain unamed(just to prove my point, the person who stroked this while thing is no longer in top 25, that's because he is not skilled, he just bashes people to death!) Once the first kill is made and you know ur playing a skill leader don't use shield anymore. It's not safe to not use it if your blindto who yor playing. Hell I fo for the shield immediately when I don't know who I'm playing. That way they can't get it, I can runnaway, kill or get killed and see who I'm playing.

That's all, I'm gonna stop complaining due to thinking about why the shield is there in the first place, it will never be taken out IMO. So I guess expandin may be right, I'll just have to get better at avoiding it, can be hard to do on assault, but I'm pretty sure SKILL! will hold me over.

I ****ing hate it when we get 1 vs 1 at knox. All those noob lvl 60-70s do is camp by health recharge and shoot me with rocket (maybe 2-3 shot me) and I cant do shit about it since i need to find my way around (which i cant since they grab health and go to another side anyway

They also get jetpack and camp up when they are losing so when i chase after then they can have chance to win -_-

why not make it by +-10 lvls or so?

if i was ngmoco i would do a 5 lvl gap match making instead of skill that would be a little fair with the other low levels

With matchmaking it shud be as follows: people with skill levels ranging from xxxx to xxxx shud be able to play eachother only I.e. Only players with skill in the 9000 bracket can play as long as they are available. If say your the only 9000 rated player online, then it bumps you down to the 8000 rank. Inside of these ranks the matchmaking shud consider level. I.E. Trying to ensure that lvl 49's play the highest lvl player with the highest skill. Instead of throwing people randomly in a room with somewhat close skill.

I will say that when I get into a room with a level 37 with a low 8000 skill, they don't stand a chance, not because they are not good, bit because they don't have good enuff gear. So if this is to happen regardless(because there will be times in which there aren't people in your bracket, there are only a handful of 9000's in the world) then you really can't "fix" the matchmaking.

Let's say we do it like most people suggest, and match people by lvl solely. What happens when u have a lvl 38 with skill of 7500-8000? Does he just get to destroy everyone in his bracket cause he is stuck playing people who are nowhere near as good as him? That's y u must factor skill into matchmaking.

If there was a surefire way to make it all work out, someone would have sent there idea in, or ngmoco would have fixed it. My only advice is if your playig and u are having trouble with your opponents because skill generally correlates with lvl, that means that u are either ahead of the curve and need to skill drop so you can play less aggresive players. Or your complaining due tohaving gotten into a bracket where there actually good players and you just aren't competitive enuff to keep up. Not pointing any fingers at all so don't take it that way, sry if anyone is offended by that.

Problem is all I get nowdays at high skill are high level noobs in tank gear and hook camping at shields and 2 hitting me with rocket
I expected something more then this at higher skill (hell 7k skill isnt even high)
Weird to see lvl 60s and 70s still doing this

It's funny. I was just on and this guy camped on me. Beat me 6-2 with 5 bashes. We play again and Im like screw this I'll show him how to play, I camp out, steal shield, just dump it (as in just puck up another item) and I win 7-2 with 1 bash that was on accident. This is what I'm talking about. Look at how different the outcomes of matches without shields. It actually makes a difference and that's starting to piss me off.

So from now on, anyone, I mean anyone, if you shield bash me once, I will camp so hard I will make u rage quit life.
