EDIT 11-15-2009:
-----------------
Hi everyone,
We would like to present you our new contest, where you can influence Gelex starting price. And maybe the game will be completely for free!!!
There is only one rule -> Write anywhere on the internet I want Gelex for free!
You can write it here in this thread, or any other discussion forum. Write the message on your blog, twitter account, in YouTube comments, or anywhere else, where Google can record it.
Day before Gelex release day (probably Friday 4th of December), we will search Google using the quated query “I want Gelex for free” and according to results we will set the starting price for this game:
- 50 results on Google -> Starting price will be 1,99$
- 100 results on Google -> Starting price will be 0,99$
- 500 results on Google -> Gelex will be the first day after the release day for free
- 1000 results on Google -> Gelex will be 2 days for free
- 2000 and more results on Google -> Gelex will be for free whole weekend
You can read more about this contest on Marie’s blog -> http://grannycoder.blogspot.com/2009/11/and-what-about-price.html

Hi guys,
We are really happy to announce our new game called Gelex. It is published by us (Handjoy) and created by absolutely marvelous lady Marie Bila – also known as Granny Coder. You can read an interview with her here: http://www.pocketgamer.biz/r/PG.Biz/Gelex/news.asp?c=15588 or you can visit her amazing blog here: http://grannycoder.blogspot.com/
Gelex is innovative and highly addictive arcade game for both casual and hardcore players. It combines physics elements with traditional match 3 concept. It is designed and fully optimized for the touch screen with easy to learn controls.
Main goal of the game is to help crazy physicist Alex destroy his newly invented matter called Gelex. Gelex takes form of small, quite annoying, jelly bricks and the only way to destroy them is to match them by color in special vaporizing machine. The more matches you make, the higher your score.
The game is in the final testing phase of the development process and its debut on Apple App Store will be at the beginning of December 2009.
Here we have some screenshots>

Physics + matching game eh? It'll be interesting to see how the play mechanic works out, especially when things get a little more frantic.

Hey Handjoy and Grandma Coder,
I'm looking forward to this but am wondering if you can give us some clues what would distinguish your game from something like Flexis?
http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/flexis/id295739387?mt=8
Flexis had some interesting ideas but the scoring was kind of weak (no real chaining/combos) and the physics were a little too spazzy.
I'm hoping you guys can do this better! Any powerups? Any pieces bigger than "trinomes (three part pieces)?

Bronos: the game should be submitted to Apple this or next week. When Apple approves it, we will release it. So I don’t know exact release day now. And about the promo codes. Yeah, we will surely give away some of them and make some contest.
Nascor: I haven’t seen that picture before, but it’s funny :)
LordGek: Wow, didn’t know there is a game like Gelex on iPhone. We know there are some games on PC platform and Gelex was little bit inspired by them, but didn’t know about iPhone one. Anyway, Flexis looks great! There are some differences; if you look at the video you will see them too. Like the physics and how the bricks act. Or control system. Gelex uses multitouch controls for rotation, which gives you better control over the brick.
Score – There are combos and it is really important to keep making them. If you are beginner, you will end up with few hundred points. But if you are “pro” you can make 50 000 or more points in single game :)
Powerups and trinomes – I’m sorry but for now the game is all about standard game with just a trinomes and without powerups. But if people will like the game, there will be updates with different kind of game modes for sure :)

Hi guys,
New contest is here. Do you want Gelex for free? Then prove it!
I've just edited first post, where you can find all the necessary information.
If you really want it, we will make it happen :)
EDIT> Is there any way to change Name of this thread? I though if I change title in the first post, that it will change the name of the whole thread, but it didnt happen. Can some admin change it please? -> "Gelex - physics match3 game - Do you want it for free?"

You forgot the "!.
Results 1 - 10 of about 72 for "i want gelex for free".
Since this starts a new page in the thread I'll repeat "I want gelex for free" in the hope that it counts for another hit.
This is actually an interesting marketing strategy, because the sentence has to appear on different sites to be counted more than once by Google. If people realize this, they will post it on as many different forums, blogs and news sites as possible, which saves the publisher the effort of trying to get these sites to announce the upcoming release of Gelex.
On the issue of pricing: I don't think it needs to be free, but 2,99$ is definitely too much.

Hello guys,
Gelex just hit the AppStore in New Zeland and you can already download it there. Tomorrow will be all around the world. And guess what? It is available as a free app! And this promo sale will be for whole weekend. So hurry up and download when you can :)
But that’s not all. We have prepared another great competition. You can win 40$ iTunes gift certificate or some other prizes. Just play the game, reach highest score, beat all other players and you can win.
If you wanna participate in this competition you need to do following steps:
• Add Marie (author of the game) as your friend on Facebook -> http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100000566767792
• Download and start playing Gelex :) -> http://www.handjoy.net/get-gelex-on-itunes-now.php
• Connect Gelex with your facebook account (In Gelex options menu click on Facebook icon and follow instructions. It's very simple.)
• Play Gelex and try to reach best score you can :)
• When you finish your game, boast about your score on Facebook (click on Boast button on “Game over screen”)
The first step is very important, because if you don't add Marie as your friend then we will not see your Facebook message and you won't be involved in this contest.
For more information visit: http://grannycoder.blogspot.com/2009/12/1-day-to-go-contests.html
Happy playing Gelex wish you Handjoy and Granny Coder!
