Just j/b'd. What are some of the first packages i should get?

I have already got sbsettings and fiveIrows. I am interested more in functional packages than graphical ones.

Agree with categories - you can put all your apps in folders and keep things organized.
Cydelete - makes deletion a bit easier, but not a lot.
Winterboard to me is basically a theme app, and really has no utility per se - please correct me if I am wrong.

Might consider PrivaCy - free, and lets you disable apps / games that send information such as time spent, uses, etc back to the publisher - you won't typically know it is doing this either.

A few of my favourites...

Volume Media Settings which allows you to use the external volume buttons to control music which I find much more functional as I have all my music MP3Gain'ed to 89db so very rarely change the volume but am always skipping tracks so it is great to be able to do it without having to unlock.

BossPaper, I'm not really into the whole theming with winterboard thing but this is a resource friendly way to set wallpaper and change dock backgrounds.

Orbit $1.99 through cydia store, an expose style app that saves having to swipe through home screen pages to get to apps.

Along with SBSettings for quick settings toggles I find these few additions make my Touch so much more functional.
