Is jailbreaking your iPod safe or is there any effects that might happen if I do jailbreak it

1.Its easier to get a virus with a jailbroken iPod.
2.It is against your warrant, so if it breaks, you have to get a new one.
3.Jailbreaking causes lots of problems with different apps, especially DLC.

4. It's well worth it, and none of that stuff happens if your careful with what you download.

1. No it isn't, where did you hear that
2. If it's broken they can't find out that it's jailbroken
3. DLC only breaks if you use ******* (cannot say what it is)
I am jailbroken and I love it, this guy obviously doesn't know anything about this stuff, also if something goes wrong you can just set into DFU Mode and restore to factory setting

What, what and what?
Apple nor AT&T have any way of knowing my iPhone is Jailbroken. I haven't seen any issues with different apps, but if DLC is a problem then I simply won't buy the DLC.
I'm a developer and I depend on my phone remaining Jailbroken for testing purposes.

Gryphon is seriously misinformed... there is no problem with jailbreaking and DLC. I've purchased DLC within a number of games (Eliminate, Pandorum, C&C) and have experienced zero problems. Along with the other 2 parts, this is plain wrong.
I am growing increasingly weary of people spreading mis-information about jailbreaking on this site. Half the posts about jailbreaking are flat out wrong and people speak authoritatively as if they know what they're talking about. It's spreading a lot of wrong/bad info and a handful of people are left to watch out for and correct it.

Yeah it is, there's only one iPhone virus to my knowledge and it only affects jailbroken devices. That's 100% more risk than having a non-jailbroken device!

well i for one used to have a jailbroken iphone, and besides that dlc stuff, problems do happen so i switched back to normal mode, and heres a huge problem: when a new ipod update is out, ur jailbreak goes away with ur apps so u have to do the whole process over again and start your apps over as well

Wrong. That's only if you download OpenSSH and don't change the default password. Otherwise there are zero chances.

For all you jailbreak haters, I thought this might be an interesting read for you :)

I love my jailbroken iPod and PrivaCy, among many, many, many, MANY, other things you can only do with a jailbroken iPod.

My post was funnier.
Actually it wasn't even wrong, it does only affect jailbroken devices, I just didn't go into specifics.

It's the thing that lets people download and install cracked apps. DO NOT USE IT; the developers do not get any money when you download cracked apps.
