Hi Guys!
We're a new development team releasing our first iPhone game! We've submitted Friday the 19th, and we hope it'll be out on the app store soon! We'll keep this thread updated on any news and other goodies as we approach release :)!
Coming the First Quarter of 2010!
Let’s face it, staying alive is one of the most important things you'll do this year. But why must it always be so difficult? In our iPhone gaming premier, Tilt to Live (http://onemanleft.com), we’ve married the ease and accessibility of tilt-only game play with the survival instinct inherent in all peoples of the earth. Just tilt the iPhone to evade enemies and live! Or don’t tilt the iPhone to die.
Rack up ridiculous combos using eight different weapon pick-ups. Each infuses you with a unique offensive advantage against the relentless hordes of Red.
Make mincemeat with the spinning Spike Shield.
Suck worse than ever with the Vortex!
Rain down Attention-Deficit-Destruction with the Cluster Missiles.
Do other things with the other ones!

After seeing both videos, the one above and oxreality's im really impressed. Hope theres a lot to offer. What will the price be? Also, is the game a survival sort of game where you start from the beginning (a really low amount of enemies) then progress until you reach a highscore or are there levels? Thanks in advance, looking forward to the game and great to see more indie devs making their way to the iphone with quality games!

When I first saw this I thought it was awesome, until I realized the title is "tilt to live". I'll relook at the thread, but I'm hoping there are other control schemes, because I absolutely hate using the accelerometer only.
yeah:
ease and accessibility of tilt-only game play
so, I'll pass until you have another control scheme.

Hi!
Glad you liked it! We've been getting a lot of positive feedback from those that have previewed the game hands-on so far, and we have plans to offer plenty more post-release.
As for the game:
Also, is the game a survival sort of game where you start from the beginning (a really low amount of enemies) then progress until you reach a highscore or are there levels?
There are no discrete levels in Tilt to Live. It's purely about amassing the biggest combo while surviving the longest you can. The awards system we've implemented using AGON, has more concrete and fun side-objectives for players to complete besides just getting a high score.
What will the price be?
As shrugs mentioned, we are planning to release it at $1.99 in the first quarter of 2010.
Happy Holidays!

It looks like the screen is fixed and doesnt follow your character... So D-Pads are impossible (your thumbs would be blocking your view very often...).
Line-Drawing would be totally ineffective, too (The enemies keep moving, so you would have to rethink and redraw your path every second)
EDIT:
In the video you slipped through a circle of red dots and it looked a bit like you were about to die (1:11, I think you actually touched them a bit :D). Which part of the arrow is vulnerable? Only the white dot behind it?
How do you lose a match? By being touched once? Three times? If more than once, can levels be regained through a powerup?

The trailer music isn't featured in the game, but the game's background music is of a similar style :)
Glad you got a kick out of the story, haha!

For what it's worth, we've had a few testers that approached the game initially not liking the idea of tilt-only and no d-pad gameplay, but once they tried it for a few minutes their impressions changed :).

As for the vulnerability of the player, the collision was intentionally made to be a bit forgiving. While it makes the early waves very easy, it becomes a god send and really helps heighten the intensity of later waves of enemies as you try to squeeze through seemingly impossible situations :D.
How do you lose a match? By being touched once? Three times? If more than once, can levels be regained through a powerup?
The gametype we're initially releasing is a survival mode. You get touched once the game is over and you can quickly restart a new game. There are powerups to help you, such as the bubble shield (the green power up in the video), which allows you to hit an enemy once without dying.

Someone said February...
If this is as addictive as it looks, it might kick Pocket God out of my Dock (PG will then go to the front page, but Dock is better than front page ;)) xD
Let's see if this happens

This looks great, a lot of hectic fun. Reminds me a bit of Starball, with an emphasis on high action.
IMO, tilt only games (if done right) are the "purest" games for the iDevice platform! Some great tilt-only games out/coming...
- Tilt To Live
- Labyrinth 2
- Dark Nebula ep.2
- Starball
LOL... 2 of these are currently on my coveted "Page 2" of my iphone. Looks like I don't have much time to clear out a spot for the 3rd spot. :D

We don't have anything concrete yet as we're focusing on finishing game the right now (in fact, a few neat little game mechanics not captured in the trailer :)), but we are tossing around ideas for new gametypes in later updates. The extent of the game types and how many there will be kind of depends on how well received Tilt to Live is, and a few other factors :D.

If you manage to make people notice you enough (twitter around [you already do :D], tell many iDevice fan pages etc about your app, and whatever comes to your mind... take a look at "Trenches". The devs managed to create a huge following [it ended in disappointment for some people because they felt the following that was created was too huge for Trenches... anyway, your game looks like a nice thing with no rough edges, so this disappointment shouldn't appear for your game] ! ) then you will be all fine with the "how well receive Tilt to Live is" thing :D

Thanks for the support! We're definitely trying to get Tilt to Live polished up and tested enough to withstand the punishment and abuse it'll encounter once it's in your guys' hands ;).
I've updated the original post with an older gameplay video, but with a new screenshot showcasing some of the newer touches we've added to make several of power-ups feel even more awesome:
http://onemanleft.com/images/tilttolive/lightning_powerup3.png
The lightning power-up is so powerful that it causes some electronic interference with the screen and player :D
Along with several new awards that have proven to be pretty fun to unlock:
http://onemanleft.com/images/tilttolive/ttl_OG.png
Of course, not all of them are obvious and will require some sleuthing after reading the clues ;).

OneManLeft was nice enough to let me have a sneak peak and, Gosh Dog, is this game good fun!
As you've probably already seen in the video, "Tilt to Live" really sums the gameplay up nicely!
Your enemy is a bunch of red dots. Spawning randomly and pursuing you. The red dots at times will be coming at you in organized formations or might even join together to form big shapes, but whatever the case you'll be swimming in a "Bullet Hell" in no time!
Thankfully you are NOT defenseless against this nasty onslaught. Scattered randomly about the field are various weapons like a burst of guided missiles, a huge wave of energy, and even a big ball of lightning which you'll need to learn how to effectively utilize if you are to have any hopes of keeping the "Red Menace" at bay. Knock out a bunch of baddies in rapid succession to score huge combo bonuses. Oh sure, as any good Survival game, you will eventually be wiped out (if your ship bumps into any of these dots, the game ends), but the fun is trying to see how long you can hold out. The game will let you easily post your best score on Agon so you ten can see how you stack up against the competition (or in my case wonder how some of the developers' scores are even POSSIBLE).
While the game gives you a few types of "Weapon Bubbles" to find in the playfield right off the bat, there are at least a few more weapons you'll need to unlock (this is done by scoring enough achievement points). The game does have a few hidden achievements, most of these Agon achievements you can read about right off the bat in the Awards section with the only secret being what the achievement is titled until you earn it and, hands down, Tilt to Live has the best achievement names in the biz (if they don't cause you to groan in pain you've either lived in an isolated cave all of your life or had your sense of humor surgically removed).
5/5!
