Hi all,
what are your opinions on gameloft strategy and their upcoming moves for their games. Do you think they will slow down the release of games or will continue as what they did for the past 2 months?
seems like they have no much new games to announce beside GTA and brother in arms 2

I think they will continue releasing new exciting games as they have announced to reduce the efforts on Google Android platform last month.

They are not releasing any more games for 2009 but expect them to come out firing in January 2010.

Who knows? They might release a casual game (like Bridge Odyssey) just before the end of 2009.

I think they'll pump out more games in 2010. They make more money on iPhone than all other platforms combined.

How many people work for Gameloft? They must have a decent sized team to be releasing games as fast as they do.

Nah, they're Gameloft, they'll find a game to do a version of. Trust me, there's plenty. I hope they try a Final Fantasy game, their only RPG Dungeon Hunter turned out to be one of their best. Plus an MGS style game is really in need, along with a game like Virtua Fighter. See, there's plenty left for them.
Plus they still have other awesome series like Ghost Recon, Rainbow Six, Prince of Persia, and Splinter Cell, considering the fact that they're working together with Ubisoft. I'd personally like to see a version of Sands of Time hit the appstore, one of my favorite platformer/adventure games of all time.
Can't wait for BIA (or as the dude who started this topic would say BAA) 2. BIA was one of the first and finest iPhone games for its time, far surpassing games like Sandstorm and Gangstar. I'm saying for the time because it was the first really full game for the iPhone and it just took us all by storm. I'll never forget buying that game lol. I hope they can keep it up with BIA2, the first was phenominal.

I think we will see another rush when easter comes along, possibly. They will have to make another Gangstar type game to beat GTA, then there is brothers in Arms II. Not much, but I think after NOVA, people are expecting a lot from them and they will keep improving their games. At least I hope they do.

Castle of Magic 2 has been announced as an upcoming title. They have shown no images so I suggest it's still in the heart of development.
BIA 2 is going to have a preview in the Jan 2010 Podcast so can't be out in 2009
The other game you are thinking of is GT Racing (Due 2010)
ACII is being developed and published by Ubisoft, Gameloft are only handling the Mobile version.
I may have worded it wrong, nothing else has been scheduled to be released in 2009.

Eric Farkas : Gameloft : Marketing Manager
Hey Eric,
Sorry to bother you but I just saw in a PocketGamer article interviewing your Vice President that they were saying something about Assassin's Creed II coming soon. Ubisoft said they were publishing and developing this title but I am wondering if you know/allowed to tell me whether it has changed and Gameloft are publishing the title now?
Thanks if you can help,
Damon

Gameloft's been doing phone games for many years now.
The iPhone SDK just makes it a LOT easier for them to port their existing library of games as well as make new ones. Remember, they've been at the iPhone for a little more than a year now.
They'll keep it up.
Some will be hits (N.O.V.A.) and some will be misses (MC: Sandstorm).
Of course, now Sega is getting into the fray and so are the smaller Asian RPG shops so expect a flurry of fine games to come out in the next couple of months.

I think they are shutting down for the holidays so they are getting everything they can done and released for the holiday rush. Most people end up with money or app cards in thier stocking so they want to make sure they grab your $$ on christmas day.

"Gameloft has announced a deal with Capcom Mobile to publish six upcoming mobile titles: Resident Evil: Uprising, Street Fighter Alpha, Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo, Lost Planet 2, Dead Rising 2 and Where’s Wally 2. The mobile games are scheduled for release in 2010. The highly anticipated mobile games will become available to a wider consumer base in Europe, The Middle East, and Africa through Gameloft’s extensive distribution channels.
This is the first partnership between Gameloft and Capcom. With a network of over 180 carriers’ worldwide across 80 countries, Gameloft has the resources, tools and know-how to distribute Capcom’s games to a broad base of consumers in Europe."
If this is true than we should start hearing news about some of these I would imagine in early 2010. (although this may be just for mobile and not for iPhone exclusive) Still... Lost Planet 2 would be AMAZING!

They will continue to pump out games until they reach a rate of 1 game every second. Then on the 8th day they will rest (Gameloft is God after all).

More like over 30. For them that's just under 3 games per month and in cuurent times they have been going at around 4 per month
