Free translations into the german language (for the AppStore)

to give you a helping hand and because I have some spare time these days, I would like to translate the english decriptions of your games and apps for the iTunes Store into the correct and fluid german language - I can also look over your already translated text for syntax and mistakes. I can ensure you, that grammar, punctuation and spelling will be absolutely correct.

Got any examples/things that show us your english/german skills? (depending on which language is your primary language, you should be nearly perfect or at least very good in that language... and you should have some proof that you are also very good at understanding the other language...)

I am born and raised german, but have also english / scottish ancestors on the maternal side, so I am familiar with both languages. Although my written english is a little bit rusty lately, I am able to catch the meaning of every text.
(As a big fan of Terry Pratchett, I'm reading every book of him in english - because the german translations often miss some of the best jokes... ;) )

I am 38 years old and a government employee for over twenty years at the senior civil service - this requires a correct and polished language.
To make things easy: if you want, you can post a text for me to translate into german and can convince yourself about my ability to compile fluid and accurate translations.

No, it is a genuine offer. :)

Reason is, that I saw some "google-translated" texts in the iTunes store lately, mainly done by independent developers. Needless to say, they made my hair stand on edge... :rolleyes: They better should have left the original english text in the store, because the german translations were readable - but I did not get any sense about the game out of them.
I was repelled by these texts and wondered, if any other customers, which might have bought the game were repelled, too.
I also understood that the small development companies can't afford a professional translator maybe. Another problem is, that a big bunch of german customers won't understand the english descriptions because they don't speak english.
So I came to the conclusion to offer this service for free, to support the girls and guys in need of a translation.
