Crap which one to buy? (this is not really a question, I'm just excited)

Wrong section, unnecessary thread even if it's in the right section as there's a consolidation thread now.
And get Avatar or Settlers depending on if you like action/adventure or strategy. Oo
God what is it with people not even hinting what their preferences are before asking? Apples or newspapers?

I'm guessing if he had a preference he wouldn't need help deciding. Maybe he likes apples just as much as newspapers. I'd say get Ravensword just to be contradictory. Besides it's the one I'm on the fence about atm anyway.

I'd rather start a new thread so people can see the sale and act quickly. I missed few sales because The titles were not changed before the sale ended. "Which one to buy" is more like a expression of excitment than a question.

Perhaps use appshopper and have them email you when the games you want go on sale? Works for me, just got a notice that Harbor Havoc 3d just went on sale for $0.99-I'll probably pick it up now.

Like I said I've missed few sales because of that. Sometimes it's just too late to wait for the title changes. Not everyone has time to read every single posts within a thread, not along all three of them. I guess I will not share any sale I found anymore. I was just excited to see those high profile games on sale so soon.

Well to weigh in I would choose Ravensword.

All three games are nice in their own right. Avatar has great graphics but has rather short levels (for me at least) and thats all i can really say. Settlers has a lite version iirc to try for free but it lacks life and is very repetitive as well as the micromanaging isn't to fun.

Ravensword is the only one out of the three with guaranteed updates/expansion(s). It offers more of an open environment adventure. 1st/3rd person views, It has a lot of content, monsters, weapons that change appearance, armors that change appearance, horseback riding, and alot to do afer you have completed the main quest. It shines the most for me. Plus its made by a two man army!

Its a great game to have and Aurora Hates it. That alone is reason to get it. :D

Gameloft is known for "Set it, and forget it."

XD take it easy, No one forces you to answer or even watch these threads. No one will die if he asks what to buy.

I don't know what's with all the hate on this thread.

because of this thread, I saw that avatar was on sale, and just purchased it. (I was very on the fence before, but now it's an instant buy).

so thank you for letting me know!

now whether or not to pick up ravensword, hm...

+1 Ravensword is a great game, a very safe bet, and an absolute steal at the sale price. The Settlers definitely has a lite version so be sure to check that out if you're interested. I've just picked up Avatar on sale, and it looks great, but I haven't played it yet so can't comment.

I've beat Ravensword twice and with the last update, it really provides some nice replay value. I still pick it up and play sometimes even after having beaten it. Can't go wrong :)

Avatar for sure. In my opinion, it was the best game of 2009.

And it's so enjoyable saying Ravensword sucks and watch the fanboys get heated up by the way.

That's the exact definition of being a troll. Makes it really hard to respect anything you have to say.

That's unfortunate, because in general I appreciate your take on games, particularly RPGs. This Ravensword obsession is really beneath you.

Well actually if you've ever looked at my posts, I have never once said "Ravensword sucks" or anything similar and left the post like that without any valid arguments. My previous comment was a direct comeback to GodSon's post. Every time I criticize Ravensword I would follow up with an argument just as valid as anyone else's, yet idiots like GodSon would post back with some crap like what he just did.
Ravensword is a quality game with good graphics and good music (though ugly character design to be honest), and the effort is appreciated; but it's not fun, it severely lacks polish as it doesn't have many of the basic features of adventure games (proper amount of monsters to train on, visible stats, etc). Does it really take a university level of comprehension to understand that on this forum? O_o

Aurora, I know exactly how you feel about Ravensword. Everybody does. You've repeated the same opinion over and over again. You've even brought it up in posts about games that have nothing to do with Ravensword (Death Strike, for example). You named it the worst game of the year (which, for me, doesn't quite make sense considering you think it's a "quality game with good graphics and good music," but whatever). We get it. As someone who does respect you and your opinions, all I can say is: it's time to let it go.

Or you can choose to be a troll: it's up to you. Personally, I'd rather engage you in productive discussions than rehash the same old crap over and over again.

Come on Aurora I'm no Idiot; and I don't go stomping on your bridge. I actually like having you around.

It's a love/hate relationship...No disrespect. I will agree with you on the character design but thats it. Ravensword is the better of the three games all around to stay on topic.

The thing that honestly kills me about most Gameloft games offered on the iTouch is that yes, they are very beautiful on the eyes but they lack life.

P.S. I am far from a fanboy of Ravensword...I am just appreciating a good game.

My only hope with the next release is that we can somehow please Aurora.
I sent him a PM, to no avail, but I'd like to know what he would add to make it a game that he likes. Since we are starting over basically from scratch, now would be a good time. Aurora?

You'd have to turn it into a JRPG, they're about the only thing that doesn't switch on Aurora's elitism mode. Not worth the hassle, if anything, I suggest you add stuff that'll annoy him/her/it even more... first rule of iPhone development: if you can really piss Aurora off, you've just made a successful and popular game.

I think there were so many people posting in that thread that I couldn't possibly answer everyone's questions. I ended up sending him a PM after I noticed he wasn't so happy. Haven't heard back yet. I would never mean to intentionally ignore someone, unless they went beyond the rules here on TA.

I think Avatar must have gone on sale at the same time as Ravensword, but I'm surprised that they dropped the price so quickly - has it been out for more than two weeks yet?

yes just two weeks.
It was never meant to be 9.99 though.
Gameloft's new price is 6.99 xD.

Yeah, there will always be suggestions, complaints, criticisms, etc. Your game is fine, and any additional elements added to it will only be a bonus. It's definitely not a perfect game, but I really appreciate the amount of attention you guys put into this game. Even the most ignorant customers should know that Ravensword was definitely created with quality in mind.
