For those that are curious, I have found Mafia Live to be superior to iMob. iMob has more eye candy, but Mafia is much more stable. I have to start iMob 5-10 times in a row before it actually loads, then everything takes forver. Mafia is quick.

Also, I hate any game where the more real life $ you dish out, the better you do (i.e. iMob).

You don't need 600 to complete a mission. There not unique I am a member of all the large families as well as there a member of mine. They need to establish a system were one person can't be a member on 30 other families, doesn't make sense and holds no logic. There fighting ratio is way off because you think a family of 450 wouldn't win agaisnt a family of 625, but I won every single time. There's isn't a scientific formula to determine a winner. Unless they hurry and tweak this game it's going to be dead in the water. I guess that's why we have imafia. Since the first two companies attempting to pull off this game failed.

Iv been googlin around and bumped in 2 a cool strategy for MAFIA LIVE and here it is:

I couldn't find any threads relating to good strategy for Mafia Live. Just a bunch of people adding family codes which, while I'm guilty of wasting hours this myself, takes forever.

But from my almost-level-25 of game play I have picked up on a few things:
1. The more family you have, the more likely you are to win a fight.
2. Number of family members far outweigh your personal attack and defense strength numbers.
3. It is good to stock up on AK semi-autos (hundreds of them!). They cost nothing in upkeep and add good defense and attack bonuses to everyone in your mob. You have the chance of beating someone with a lot more family members if your own militia is well armed.

Taking those three thing to heart, I have set out to make as much money as possible. The way to do this...real estate and energy points. Follow these simple steps:

1. Put as many Zen points towards energy as you can. All your points, every point...increase your energy so you can do more jobs. Do more jobs to get more money to buy more real estate to make even more money to buy even more real estate.

2. Only do the job with the greatest return (meaning maximize the ratio of $$$/energy points). Which for anyone less than level 25, is "Take a Cop for Ransom." Notably, this is also second to "Bank Robbery" for highest Experience/Energy ratio.

3. Buy real estate...lots of real estate. I wake up every morning to find millions in my bank account without doing anything. To understand which real estate to buy you need to calculate your rate of return, or (Income/Upfront cost). Since the cost of a piece of real estate increases for each one you have in possession, this value drops every time you buy. A good rule of thumb is to buy anything that has a return rate >1%.

The Night Club, Commercial Building, Shopping District, and Fantasy Resort all have initial (best) rates of return of 0.88, 0.95, 0.72, and 0.92%, respectively. Meaning don't buy any of these until you have at least 16 Shacks, 12 Hot Dog Stands, and a similar amount of Gas Stations and Jewelry Stores (I haven't yet reached or calculated the 1% break point for these). To do so will be wasting money.

All in all, pretty cool game, pretty simple. Make your mob huge and make lots of money. Any other strategies out there worth mentioning? Any other hints to how the game actually works??? Best strategies for winning fights? Does it matter how strong the members of your family are? Or is it simply numbers? How exactly do the items from one mob to another get distributed in a fight?

It is based on your attack, your equipment and your family size. Keep in mind each one of your members needs a weapon, an armor and a vehicle to be considered in the math. I have noticed that the higher your defense rating, the less health and cash you lose when attacked. I have also proven the fighting system is fair by defeating 1200+ families with my 900+ mob. These guys only focus on getting more mob members and not on buying what they need to fight. Don't forget to add me!

I found another thread that the admins posted on. They didn't give away the exact algorithim for winning battles, but did give some direction. The number of members in your gang plays less wight now. Now better equipment plays a larger role. They game takes your attack zen points and number of players in your gang multiply it by an unknown weight and add the result to your equipment attack ponts by some unknown weight. These points are then multiplies by yet onother random multiplier (i.e. roll of the dice). Whomever you are attacking, the same process is carried out for except that thier defense attribute is used. When attacking, your defense zen points count for nothing, and when you are attacked, your attack zen points are meaningless. Hope this answers questions that everyone has.
I do like the new system a lot better, because before, the game was nothing more than entering data to try and increase the size of your gang. I only have 245 members in my gang and am regularly winning battles against gangs with 1100. On the flip side, I really don't like the roll of the dice. I have won a battle against a gang and ten seconds later, I attack them again, and I lose?
