So it has been submitted. No longer should we have to go into a game to check our OpenFeint information.

Source: http://twitter.com/openfeint

Does anyone have any info on it? Could there be a possibility of Push Notification for new messages, etc?

What do you guys think about it in general?

I personally cannot wait! :]

I am pretty sure it will be free. I do not see why they would charge when we could just as easy go in game to check things just the same.

Edit: I just found another interview that was posted on there twitter page confirming that it will in fact be free.

oh yeah I forgot to mention that in that same interview they also said they are going to have OpenFeint on Google Android. And that it will work cross platform between the two. The IPone and Droid. :]

Is OK as long as:

1) It's free

2) I can still configure OF in games.

Why #2?

Because of Scoreloop.

You can't configure anything in Scoreloop in-game, you have to download their app.

I'm currently at 529 apps and desperately trying to keep that number down, so I don't want to have to add an OF app to that...

I hope i can organize everything from the app itself. To be able to delete games i tried and deleted that i don't want on my profile is all I really want out of the app other than they way lists load. Everything else in Openfeint is near perfect.

Yes, I agree with you. I would also like to be able to delete the games I do not want on my profile. I would also like to be able to delete conversations. Is it just me or is there no way to do it right now through the games?

Nope there is no way to do it unfortunately. I have tried everything I could. The gameslist/friends/leaderboards loading is another thing...

Interesting. I wonder if the OF client could behave like the steam client on PCs... is there any value in this? What if you could buy apps through the OF client and send them as gifts to friends?...

Hell I'd pay .99 just to delete all of the random games in my profile :(

I would love to be able to gift apps, but I doubt Apple would allow such functionality in the OF app.

Yeah I doubt that as well.

Maybe when you are browsing games or friends or something they will let you load more than ten at a time. I hate when I am looking at my friends games and I keep having to click on the load 10 more games link.

It should I am sure. That is the main reason to have it right? So you can check those things without being in the game?

Hey Guys!
I'm Jason, Founder of Aurora Feint. Just wanted to respond to everyone's questions about our upcoming Standalone App.

1) It's definitely free
2) Game list management is not there. But, I've heard you all loud and clear -- we're going to add it in an update next week.
3) Account management will always be available inside games. The standalone app is just "an easier way" to get to OpenFeint.
4) The standalone app is going to have a Free Game of The Day promotion. So everyday, there'll be a new free game for you to discover! We hope you guys like them! We are also starting some cool social promotion features like Games Your Friends Played This week. (If you have any ideas of ways you want to find games... let me know. We'll be adding more ways pretty frequently).

Anyway -- it's in Apple's review queue now, so it should be out in any day. Feel free to send me a PM or tweet (@jasoncitron) if you have any comments or feedback!

Thanks so much for supporting us :-)

Thanks for clearing things up. I think the most important thing is to be able to view all achievements, erase game info for games we do not want on our profile, and messaging push notifications. And we should be able to erase conversations as well.

If we cannot access all of these things from inside this app then there really is no point in it, if we have to still go in game to access them. You see what i'm saying? If it can do these things then I think it will be a great asset to the community for sure.

I love it :) its OF in an app, ALONE AND FAST AND NEW!!! This is the ONLY app that is not default apple on my first page, because OF should be apple's standard Xbox live, but apple live, but through feint...

dude, open feint games are like sex. you may have as many 'one time plays' as you want, but once your done with them, no matter what, for the rest of your life, you always slept with that person. you cant just like 'restart' ever seen hookers try and succeed at this? No.

-end joke :D

The app loads just as slow as its in-game equivalent, it still only displays 10 games at a time (and not even in the order they were last played) and the 'free game of the day!' is a demo... haha.

Are Push notifications/badges working on your guys' OF app? I mean, I would think that if I had a pending friend request/someone posted in one of my conversations, there would be a badge to notify me, but there's nothing..
